Too Old to Ride / When Is It Time to Stop Riding Motorcycles?
I been told by multiple people that they are afraid to start riding because they think they are too old, and it is too late for them. This is something that was on my mind before I returned to riding after almost a decade. I decide to share my thought on this and well, watch the video to see why. Ride safe, take care of each other and much love always Familia. @harleydavidson @TobaccoRoadHD

I thought about maybe talking about it here might also help others. If the days are getting rougher, if you are in a funk and can't get out. Please seek help, reach out to someone. It is November or MOVEMBER, check out the sit...

My friend is still riding at 85! He's done what you said and got a lighter bike a KTM 390 Duke.
I'm 76. I came back to riding a year ago, after not having a bike for 50 years. Every day I wonder if I should be riding but as soon as I start going I know it's a good idea. However, if I find that the jerks I have to share the road with are getting to me I go home. I've come to expect people to do stupid things. So, it's dumb to get bent out of shape when they do. Just avoid the hazard and keep riding, or go home.
mate always wear protective gear!, jacket is a must!1 if you fall with those acrilyc sleeves material on your shirt will be stuck on your skin like you wouldnt want to experience
Happy birthday Broskey‼️🫶🏾
I received my license when I turned 57 and bought a ‘22 Heritage Classic. I made a deal with my wife, that if I became unstable in my riding that I would then give up my bike.
Loved this man❤
Im 78. Have not ridden for 20 years. recently bought an indian scout 101. It only took 1 day to get my muscle memory back. Im doing a lot of practice on the basic things, such as slow turns, panic stops ect. The bigest danger is taking a fall will affect an older person a lot more than a younger person. But if you have some experience all should be good.
That’s awesome that you came back to riding, and are working on continuing to polish your skills. Yes we need to be mindful at a later age, the recovery from a fall can be troublesome. Ride safe my friend!! Thanks for watching!!
Nice video. Bought my first bike in twenty years 2 years ago at 52. Haven't regretted it one time. Keep riding my friend!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed the video. Thanks for watching!
Spot on brother! My exact thoughts, you nailed it. My wife and I have considered an RG3 now, but I'm not ready for that yet. My Dad (Marine vet served in Korea) "Go ahead, you know more than I do...." Heard him say it a thousand times.
Those RG3 look good, but I’m with you brother, not yet!! 😎🤙
happy birthday🎉 i stopped riding for years cause family first. i’m 55 now riding an ultra. i think when i get to feel a little too old i might make it into a street glide
Thank you, yes family is always first. But now kids are grown so is our time
We will know when it’s time. When it is, I’m getting a Ural sidecar! Don’t know if you are aware, and I think you are close enough, but there’s a painted motorcycle course at Wake Tech on 401 in Raleigh/Garner in one of the big south parking lots. Good to practice on when the lot is empty.
Those Urals are really nice!! You know I’ve went to practice there multiple times, but I practiced on the back lot. Need to look for those markings!! Thanks for the info!
I’ll stop riding the day I die!! I promise!!!😂
Yes sir, or we can come back as Ghost Rider!! 😂
I ride alone most of the time for the same reasons as everyone's here. The only person I ride with is my son so I can see my image many years ago.
What a blessing, to ride with your son must be amazing!! Ride safe and thanks for watching
I rode in my early 20s,work,marriage, kids kept my off til now at 71.trying to get back into it.riding gives you life.people in their 90s still do it
There you go, this is your time, go for it my friend!!
My Father is 72 yrs. old and still rides so I think im gonna keep riding with age, Happy Birthday!
He’s the man. Yes we keep going, for as long as we can. Thank you for watching!!
A great video!
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching
Happy birthday big man. And you’re right: as long as you’re physically and mentally capable to do something then keep at it. That translates into anything in life. I see older people still riding motorcycles, hunting, swimming, graduating from school etc. if you are still capable, than keep at it and don’t go quietly. Great video as always, catch you on the wind my friend.
Thank you. That’s the mindset we need to keep, always positive and moving forward. Living life to the fullest. Ride safe my friend, and see you on the wind!
@ see you on the wind my friend.
We are never too old, as long as our body can handle it. I think healthy body, healthy spirit healthy mind. Never give up, I am a Granny on wheels
Exactly, way to go!! We keep going!!
As long as you’re psychically able and alert ride as long as you can
That is the plan my friend, thanks for checking out the video
Happy birthday 🎂🎈
Thank you
Happy Birthday to you! I am sixty six years old and have been riding for fifty two years. We all as we grow older think about this. I plan to ride until my body tells me it’s time. Great video my friend.
Thank you, and thanks for watching. Yes it is all about health, if we take care of ourselves we can keep riding longer.
Happy Birthday!!
Thank you!!
I can't imagine not riding
I’m with you man, can’t see my life without it
Agree 100%. mentally and healthy.
That’s the key brother!!
Happy Birthday
Thank you my friend
Yes you are right when i ride my road glide i never know where I might end up,when i ride its peaceful for me,all my troubles are long gone it just me and the road.
Amen my friend, it is my place of zen. Thank you for checking out the channel. Ride safe my friend!
There is science proving that riding motorcycles is very similar to meditation. For some of us with ADHD it is way easier to get into that state riding because it forces us to focus on the ride allowing us better to direct our thoughts where we want to. I too struggle with meditation but riding gets me there. I call it moving meditation.
Right on my friend. It is great that we can find that place of zen behind the handlebars. Thank you for checking out the channel, your support is greatly appreciated. Ride safe my friend.
Just stumbled across you channel and subscribed. Been riding for 37 years. 99 percent of the miles I’ve ridden have been alone. No competition, no need to impress anyone, no discussion about routes or places to eat, just me and the road. I’ve ridden through 42 states over the years alone. When I was a kid, if nobody wanted to do something, ride bicycles, play or go to the movies, I would go alone. Guess I like my own company. I share your sentiments for sure. Do your coast to coast trip. I did mine back in June of this year. 25 days, 19 states, 8k miles, alone. Went the Northern route through Pa, Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin over to North Dakota and then dropped down to the Black Hills in South Dakota. Wyoming, Idaho and Oregon, then to California. Turned back East through Nevada, Utah, Colorado before jumping on interstate to get back east. My suggestion? Decide what you want to see and just go. I hit a few national parks, Mt. Rushmore, Devils Tower, Grand Tetons, Yellowstone, redwood forest, Highway 50, I could go on. My only regret was waiting all these years to do it. Try not to rush as best you can. And stay in the moment each day. Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Just do it. Keep up the good work on the videos! You got a fan here, brother! Ride safe! ✌🏿
My friend, thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts. This comment is inspiring, I can’t wait to do the coast to coast trip, I will not be able to take that much time off from work to do a 25 day trip, but I should be able to do 15-20. So I’ll need to pick a route and locations to fit that timeline. That’s the plan, then once I retire I won’t have to worry about time. Thank you once for your support, I’ll have new blogs coming every Thursday at 6pm ET. Ride safe my friend, and see you on the wind!!
More 2 lanes…more healthy brains!!! Another great video!!!
Yes sir! Thank you for checking out the video, glad you enjoyed it.

I really enjoyed your video. For me, riding is therapy for the soul. You get on a nice stretch of road, and that one song comes on - you get transported to a different place. I hope everyone takes care of themselves and please ride safe.

Great video. Love the subject and can relate. Love to just get out and ride. It's so relaxing and spiritual. Continue to make such poignant videos. What cameras are you using to record your trips? I'm looking to get a camera to record my trips. Thanks! A good video would be the set up that you use to record all of your riding. Just a suggestion.
Thank you for checking out the video. That’s a great idea, I’ll work on one in the near future
Coast to coast! That is absolutely on our bucket list! We’re in Myrtle Beach, Atlantic to the Pacific! And back of course with a little travel and time plan, expecting delays while enjoying the Entire Journey!
Right on!! I can’t wait to do mine. It will be an epic adventure for sure. Thanks for checking out the video
