Instead of making games more expensive just sell it in parts or dlc at cheaper. 3 parts of a game at $50 each or a $50 initial release with $15-$20 dlcs is much easier on the wallet than $100 releases

It basically took an entire generation (suffering through the Xbox One era), but we’ve finally started getting a regular cadence of eastern developed games in general (not just JRPGs) on Xbox. I just hope it hasn’t all come too late considering the questions and uneasiness about the platform’s future.

Most of the JRPGs that I own are on Xbox. There are plenty in that ecosystem. (More on others, of course.) But Xbox isn't actually "lacking" in this regard.

@chaos since Phil Spencer announced Persona was coming to Gamepass the platform has had plenty of Jrpgs from third party companies on the platform plenty on Gamepass Ultimate at this point the only reason you can make the excuse you purchased a PS5 this generation is you’re a final fantasy fanboy and wanted to play FF16/Rebirth Day 1 outside of that the PS4 has had more IP this generation than the PS5

Japanese publishers should really target Xbox more. The more people we get playing JRPGs the better.

It’s unfortunate the Visions of Mana developer is closing its doors. 😔 Sea of Stars is a solid game. Chained Echoes is another solid choice, even if it’s not on GamePass anymore. However, I do recommend the Octopath Traveler games! Always been curious about Suikoden. Hopefully it’s Play Anywhere. In all, it’s kickass to see more JRPGs on Xbox. But I’ll check these when I can.

Here's my issue with this whole thing. Xbox is having a great line up of games coming out, regardless of if they're exclusive or not. Towerborne, Indiana Jones, Gears, Fable, State Of Decay, Doom, Expedition 33, etc. And now that they're missing a couple of third party games because they're being timed exclusives for PlayStation and eventually will come to the console, now they have to respond and retaliate? That doesn't make sense. Xbox has always had to adapt to Sony getting third party exclusives and they're doing just that such as them just getting Genshin on the platform when it wasn't available for so long. Plus in general, a good chunk of third party games sometimes don't even sell very well to begin with when only on PlayStation, not just because it's only exclusive to that console. That's literally all this is. Just Xbox adapting.

Xbox needs to have some 3rd party exclusives. Sony is just going to keep moneyhatting 3rd party to make up for lack of games. A 3rd party game being on gamepass isn't going to cut it. Look how well Palworld did. If Phil is annoyed at not jumping on 3rd party deals in the past, he needs to get something for the Xbox platform. 3-6 months timed isn't going to cut it. I understand they don't like 3rd party lockdowns, but Sony is going to triple down on them, especially right now. I really don't understand why they don't get more 3rd party.

I have a great idea. Give Xbox Concord to Xbox. Pretty sure Xbots will keep the game alive longer then Ponies did due to Bots being MP centric gamers. I'm not just saying it as a burn, I'm being honest, I really did like Concord and I feel it deserves a platform where MP FPS shine. Sony ponies only care about SP games. Not true? Then why the hell do we not have Killzone or Resistance next gen releases? Because they were never supported by the PS community. I did. Tell me I'm lying. Now, in regards to why Xbox isn't doing the same thing with 3rd party developers. I believe it comes down to money. Playstation has a larger console base while Xbox doesn't. So Xbox would have to pay either twice or three times the amount than Playstation would. If Xbox went down that route expect all 3rd party developers to want and do the same. And even threaten to skip Xbox if they don't get that deal. Xbox would be losing money at that point. Why do you think they are buying studios?

In my opinion, what fascinates me more is how the FTC is so staunch in regard to exclusivity that Xbox might have with ABK games. They are neglecting the exclusivity deals that playstation is doing. Basically, they are turning a blind eye and do not want to do their jobs. It goes to the other regulators as well since, this would be anti consumer and anti completive practices that Playstation is doing.

We need to decide if we are console warring 24/7 or not. Phil explained the issue of paying for exclusives during the trial it makes sense to me. Look at Sony Financials a chunk of their money goes to licensing deals and exclusives. When those games runs their course what did Sony consumers get? Brownie points? Xbox is bringing games to gamepass. I'd rather them spend money on that. Than also pay ransom for games to come to Xbox. Look at square Enix. How did that work for them? People need to stop worrying about FOMO and just play games they have.

It was a smart strategy by Sony. You announce an exclusive deal and everyone accuses you of more sleazy tactics. You don’t announce an exclusive deal you get the sales and everyone questions the capabilities of your competitor’s system.

Honestly, this is more of a bad look on Game Science than Sony or Microsoft. Sony did what I expected them to do, but Game Science telling an outright lie about Xbox consoles makes me second guess wanting to get the game entirely when it does launch on Xbox. Sometimes, it's best to remain silent than to speak out. EDIT: Sorry, but calling for a revolt is just silly. We're talking about video games here and this game is still coming to Xbox. Xbox has its own share of deals that will see games come to Xbox first. Should PS gamers revolt over those timed exclusives? No., because it's silly. Timed exclusives are INFINITELY better than outright exclusives. If you can't wait a few months, then pick another hobby lol.

Bro. This doesn’t confirm anything. It’s two different party saying two different things, except one of them has an incentive to not paint themselves in a negative light. Look at all the Sony exclusives from third party: FF16, FF7R, RotR, Helldivers 2, Stellar Blade, etc. They’ve always been advertised as Sony only for consoles. Why wouldn’t they do the same for BM, which was always advertised as a multi-platform game? They did almost no advertisements for the game so it’s obvious they didn’t really think it was going to be the mega-hit that it was. And with the recent Enostria news that the Xbox guys didn’t get back to them on time to fix the problems with running their game on Xbox, a game that is significantly less graphics intensive than BM, Occam’s razor would suggest that the devs are telling the truth, nobody thought their game was going to be as big as it turned out to be, so neither Sony nor Microsoft really gave too much effort to help them sort out any technical problems, but Sony did enough that they were able to sort it out in time for release, meanwhile Microsoft missed out. There’s an overwhelming amount of evidence to suggest that it was a tech issue, and not really any to say that Sony paid for exclusivity.

I think Sony knew Concord was going to Flop, and that is why Sony made some sort of deal with Game Science. This year, Sony has had no game that set the world on fire.Black myth was a big deal on pc, not Playstation. The question is, how long is the exclusivity deal for that game? A month, 2, 3, etc. I think the only thing Microsoft could do to counter this is make an exclusivity deal with WB and DC comics for Superman and Batman. Will they do that, probably not because the management at xbox doesn't believe in xbox. Plus, they don't realize you need exclusives to sell consoles. They realize that on the windows side.

Xbox didn't spend the necessary money to have Blackmyth Wukong on Xbox platforms at launch day. Sony spent the money to have the technical staff over to Gamescience for Blackmyth Wukong 1st day luanch on PS5.

I personally have cancelled Gamepass and have gone over to PC and PS5. Of all the games i own only 3 of them are Xbox exclusive as of right now. Those 3 gamesi still play i have on disk and i do not need Gamepass to play. I have been paying for Xbox Live/Gamepass for 21 years and it ends in 12 days.

One developer not being able to optimize a game doesnt make a sonsole a mistake. The S isnt bottlenecked eother and no, not every pc has 16gb ram. Only like 4% of PC players (as research and studies have shown) have these super PCs you believe every one has.
