I swap out the OE manifold for the Dedicated Motorsports 12AN ORB water manifold on my LSA after it was found boost was causing a water leak.

Mine sounds just like that. Figure I’ll buy one and throw it in there when I change the brick. Can I reuse the blower to head gaskets? Intake gaskets I guess.
I reused mine once but my engine was only 11k miles. Gaskets are riveted to the blower.

Very clever method and well done. Did you loosen the oil pan bolts at all in this video to lower the pan some additional amount? That would make it difficult or impossible to clean and reseal it back up with the cross member in the way. I know your cross member is removable now.
All the bolts were loose to lower the pan as much as possible. To do it over I would just cut the crossmember. No sense risking cutting the pickup oring and losing oil pressure
The tints look great and the job was very professional. Do you find it hard to see while driving? My yellow ZL1 has really dark tints and since it has no sunroof it’s very dark inside so it’s really hard to see. I find myself rolling down the windows often. It looks great but I think I will remove the tints.
Yes, it can be difficult to see and I lower my windows often, especially at night and rainy days, but I consider it worth it.
Got my 1LE torn down right now for head/cam, Johnson 2116LSR lifters, Melling 10295 pump, and Katechc5R chain. Two things, I need clearance to drop the pan. What can I do? And… Do you by chance have the GM part number for the wishbone? I HATE and don’t trust plastic tensioners.
It is actually 1/2 - 1.5 turns is a safe Margin. That is not too 22ft lb It is too rocker seat on rocker tray. But.. they End up being very vary Close to 1.5 and 1.3/4 beining one in the same. Also it's not Vaseline. It's assembly lube, that stays put much better then Motor oil, that you are Diluting. Not the end of the world. All that aside. This IS a GOOD video. There are so many out there that Merely show how to get off lobe, then tork to 22lb. Completely ignoring proper or Acceptable pre load. (They should all be 🥾 in the 🥜)

Yeah, it’s the factory service manual. I can’t remember where I bought it but it was online. I just googled factory service manual 2014 Camaro.

The fumes will pass the door gaps.
You could tape the gaps with painters tape, but exhaust fumes get in the car mostly through my open windows or A/C vents way more.
For vanity’s sake, does the beauty cover still fit with this reservoir? I have one on the way and it’s going in the car regardless, but I will miss that cover.

Pedals are stock for a ZL1. As far as the radio, I wouldn't buy it. Stick with a Sony, Kenwood, Alpive or what you like and get a Meastro interface or another brand. This radio drops wifi when running Pandora and is clunky when trying to switch to A/C or other modes.

Awesome and informative video! I’ve been searching for a good how to video specifically for the 5th gen ZL1 and this is by far the best one. I need to replace my front passenger side strut since it’s leaking and clunking. I have 48K miles and I hear these struts start to fail at around 40K miles. Unfortunately they also cost a fortune at around $700 for the fronts. The driver side even more expensive. Ugh!

Do you recommend removing the pan completely when installing the cam and oil pump to make it easier to install the pickup tube and oring or would it add way too much work for that purpose? I saw your other video and wondered why you didn’t just remove the pan instead.
Watch the link below. GM would have you remove the engine to replace the oil pump. It can be done in the car, but it's difficult. I would've loosened the motor mounts to be able to drop the pan more. You risk rolling or cutting the tube o-ring doing like in this video. Either way it's problematic. I added the function in the video below so I can get to the pickup easier if needed .Removing the oil pan I've heard is possible if you can jack the engine up enough. When I converted my L99 to LS3 valve train conversion on a 2010 SS, I pulled the engine out since I was also installing a higher stall converter but my ZL1 is a manual and I would like to avoid removing the engine this time. It’s been 13 years since so need a refresher. Thanks for your help.
I had no idea this product existed. The first thing I did on my ZL1 was straighten out the jack points or pinch welds which were bent by the dealership lift or previous owner. I have a scissor lift and will be installing these. Thanks for sharing.

They repaired the weights and rebalanced it. It's a Metco.

Other than asking where I got mine, they said they didn't know there was an issue until they saw my video. You can use their bolt, I just think mine are a better solution.
The nuts and bolts you installed backwards. The bolt head goes on the inside, nuts and washers on the outside, no cable clearance issues then. You don’t need to and should not flip the cables around. Yes, the instructions are terrible.
can you upgrade the pump from 115 Volts pump to 240 volt pump?
They sell a 240 version
This is just another point of failure. Plug it.

My concern is I have flex fuel and a tune on my C7. If the dealer flashes the entire tune, Ill be needing a tow truck.
They should only be flashing the suspension module, not the Engine module.

i was thinking of painting headers first. Let it cure over some time (a week?). Then add a coat of permetex red hi temp or Ultra Copper silicone (let dry for 24 hrs). Then wet header wrap and wrap up headers using steel ties. Then coat the whole thing over with some more hi temp permetex silicone.

Man, I love you. Thanks for making it fairly easy to figure out how to install the hobbs switch and what it does. I had gotten a complete triple pump kit and the switch came with it. I had no idea what it was or what it did so i looked up the part on fore for the name and then youtubed it and found you first hobbs switch video and this one for the wiring. Took one thing off my list to get done. Thanks so much!

I wouldnt buy it again, but only because it takes too many button pushes to get to the A/C controls. Also for some reason if I'm on Pandora and drive near certain cell towers, it'll lose it's connection. I think the wifi isnt shielded enough in the receiver. Other than that it still works but my camaro isnt a daily.

My ctsV has all oem mag suspension but the front is noticeably lower than other stock V’s. Has more rake to it. Maybe a recalibration would help level the car some. Never knew this was a thing. Thank you
Unfortunately, it doesn’t have anything to do with leveling. The ride height of the car is set by your springs.
Why not use Bosch DOT 5.1 ?
Yes you could use 5.1 but not silicone based 5.0.

With my old cammed ss the tune had the exact same issue!! Had to bring it back to the tuner. RPMs would hang till a complete stop lol

Wouldn't you be able to keep the existing fuel line and install a adapter and plug the return part on the module. Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question but im curious.
Not sure but I'm pretty sure I need the return with the regulator I have. This is how the system was designed and I don't want to dead head the pumps creating heat.
I'm curious as I just got as far as installing the module ( in the Pontiac g8 gt) . Which is a return less. I'm trying to find the video of you installing the new lines but can't find it .
I can tell you exactly why that bushing was bent 😂 they didn’t want to jack it up by the diff so they jacked it up there to keep the normal spot in the side free for a jack stand.
