VOLVO: FL (3) Turbo fault.
Truck kept losing power and displaying the error code P004592.
It turned out to be an incorrectly set VGT control arm limit, causing the turbo to boost too much and then the engine ecu shutting it down to safe mode.

Here we have a 2018 Volvo FL (3) Ad-Blue pump replacement. It was originally replaced due to a fault on the pump which occurred due to Diesel been put into the AdBlue tank.     Can you explain what happens when you select high pressure on the crossover? Does it just open a valve or does it actually start the high pressure pump spinning?

      It diverts the water flow through a restriction , causing high pressure with a lower volume of water. This is governed by a 50bar safety valve which opens if pressure exceeds 50bar. This happens whilst also making low pressure at a high volume. This is a 2 stage pump. World series twin 3010. 3000 ltr of water per min at 10 bar (low-pressure)

    Great tutorial! Do you happen to know if the front differential removal procedure is the same for a 2021 Pro XD 2000D diesel? Can't find anything on it, and can't even find the factory service repair manual to purchase online. Thanks!

      Just a follow up on this for anyone else looking in the future, it is the same except the bracket on the right side of the front differential was not present on this model, but the roll pin removal is the same. If the machine has a lot of hours on it and has been through a lot of mud and water, definitely soak it well with PB blaster and start at the end of the roll pin that is flush with the drive shaft yoke and don't hit the end that is sticking out. You definitely don't want tomorrow the inside of the bore, so use the appropriate size punch, and if you can't get a good square hit on it then use a center punch that has the sharp tip on it which will go in the middle of the road portion and allow good stability. Hit it several times until it barely starts to move has a lip/shoulder so a regular punch will not catch on the inner bore of the drive shaft yoke, then use a regular punch and beat the hell out of it until it comes out.

    Thank you. When you pulled that seal and I saw all that shrapnel in there, I said, "Yep, that's all the pieces I found on my frame!" My seal had come out of the housing. Your videos are really going to help me out.

      It's 43mm Just big enough to fit the bearing and slide over the shaft.

    Thank you very much! I'm in a new truck and have never in my life growing up in the industry ever had a seat with this feature. After a month and a half my back is killing me. I figured I'd see if the shock needed to be in a different hole. Then I saw you flipping that leaver and remembered this seat had that but didn't know what it was for. Maybe now I can ditch the cushion!

      It adjusts how much rebound the shock has. So it will either be really bouncy or stiff depending what position you have it in.

    So many times, there is no oil in the Demand Drive. The way things are getting banged around maybe Polaris should put an itty bitty dipstick angled downward from the passenger side. Threaded & easy access. Hmmm, I bet I could figure a way to do that from the vent hole, other side with a zip tie slid in or some such!

      @@truck-tek Maybe if out of the way, IDK about flying rocks. To me it's amazing these differentials take the abuse they do, without oil nothing will last. Make it easier to check would be a good step.

      There's only a tiny inline gauze filter in the adblue inlet in front of the pump with the blue cap. You can just see the white of it.

      If you look at the pump right at the beginning of the video the bottom left there is a fitting Infront of the blue cap it's in there, you can just see the white tip off it

      Sounds like a wiring issue to the heater maybe a broken wire in the loom? Or feed from the control unit to the heater plug?

      Dextron 3 was supplied from the dealer as a DDF alternative 75/90 is too thick for front demand drive. Atf works fine.

    Are you able to pump saltwater with those pumps? LP impeller is Aluminium but the rest of the pump is stainless. That should mean corrosion issues.

      Yes you're correct. We don't pump from salt water as nowhere near the sea. It would work if you did but would have to flush out with fresh water after and not advised. The LP impeller is cast aluminium the HP is stainless and the body is aluminium.

      Can you get a small wood hammer shaft behind the gear and lever it out or a tap with a brass punch and plenty of wd40. It should then just pull out. Have you taken out the retaining clip?

    Is there any adblue filters in this unit? Is there one in the one with the blue cap on the modular unit, I’ve got a 2017 Volvo FM with a P207F code reductant quality

      There's a tiny gauze filter in the adblue inlet in front of the pump with the blue cap. You can just see the white of it. Have you checked your adblue concentration is up at 32.5%? Normally adblue quality faults are bad adblue or blocked adblue nozzle in the exhaust. If you have a computer it should tell you the adblue quality but then also use a refractor to confirm it is a true reading and not a bad sensor.

      The coolant hose is just a quick release fitting it could be loose? or a split hose Or the pump it's self? If you look under the adblue tank where the pump unit is mounted and behind it you should be able to see where without striping anything.

    Do you know why it stay bouncy even with the shock absorber changed? We changed the shock absorber the cable, the "air spring" they stay a little bit bouncy. We also purged the water. It's so hard to find answers by isri. (they want to sell brand new seats 🤣)

      @@truck-tek the Prima 4010 has a reciprocal primer fitted behind the pump, this has 2 red hoses that attach to the pump to remove air from the casing, im trying to work out if they attach to the discharge side of the pump or the inlet side of the pump?

      @@jarydwilson6706 this is a 3010 with prima primers that run on a electro magnet clutch. they are mounted either side and join to a check valve to the rear of the pump via a hose each side. This valve is then mounted to the low pressure side which sucks the air from the casing. I'll try get a pic if it lets you upload them on here.

      The tiny Gauze Filter was already washed out. I'm planning on doing a part 2 with the dosage unit on the bench so it can be seen better, also a Euro 6 dosage unit which is different again but have common faults with cooling solenoids.

      The seat shock absorber stopped working so seat is too bouncy or too solid. Depending what position the gas strut fails in.
