    Even more minimalistic than a punch bag (eg if you cannot afford it) is a stick to hit your bones in order to toughen/harden them, esp in regions like your toes and shins or upper arms that you can't easily bang against each other like your forearms or your knuckles.

    Martials arts without sparring is worthless my guy and you need other people for sparring. How can you slip a punch or lock up an armbar if you've never even tested it in light sparring? Fitness, sure, but you might as well just lift weights and get really strong or run or else you will just be drilling bad technique without someone actively correcting you.

    • @aidanliamlee
      @aidanliamlee Місяць тому

      @DogginsFroggins - 100% to apply the Martial Arts in real life situations you need sparring, but better to move like a Martial Artist than a dysfunctional bodybuilder if you're trying to defend yourself. If you watched the video, the point was regardless if you go to the Dojo or train at home, you need someone to correct form.

      @@aidanliamlee Dysfunctional bodybuilder? Move like a martial artist? This is pure broscience, please stop preaching this nonsense or you will get people hurt. I've seen a lot of fitness content and you are parroting terms from the early 2000s. Also I've seen most very strong BBs smash your average bluebelt, weight classes and strength matter a lot and it takes a large amount of skill to overcome such a size disparity, which will never be reached from at home practice so I don't get your point at all.

      @@DogginsFroggins - Do you understand what he's trying to say? Sure themore "stuff" (sparring partners of all types, different types of equipment, etc...) you have, the better. But what if you DON'T? I knew guys that didn't have much except a punching bag - but rarely sparred because there was no one that wanted to - and even though their timing was off - dudes could throw a punch. You do with what you have.

    What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.

    I agree with this so much, I’m very emotionally sensitive, sometimes too much and that really makes me feel like less of a man but I like your advice.

    So you mean not doing weightlifting... Or other Olympics sports..?

    • @aidanliamlee
      @aidanliamlee 6 місяців тому

      Appreciate the question! The answer is not about different Olympic sports, but moreso about the movement patterns standard Weightlifting, Olympic lifting, CrossFit etc. use. These movement patterns damage the body, all just to lift a heavy weight. I use and teach my students to use weight, just we use entirely different exercises which are mostly rotational based. Let me know if you have other q's!

    "You should be a monster." Says the guy who's never been in a fight. I doubt Peterson has done any physical labor in his entire life. I'm pretty confident that if I handed Jordan a rake, he'd start sneezing.
