Memoir of a Snail is HEARTBREAKING
My ''review'' for Adam Elliot's newest film Memoir of A Snail, one I consider to be the best film I've seen all year and something of a stop-motion masterpiece. 9 or 10/10.

A very personal experimental film I made at 19. This is quite internal and goes into very specific topics. Personally, I love it for being unique and original in its experimentation though it is reflecting a very dark, unpleasant period of my life. A mother who has lost her son. An immigrant family in disrepair. What is it that remains? Where can the son go? What does he still dream of?

I watched memoir of a snail with my psychologist since me and him since we really loved Mary and max and we absolutely loved this movie, high hopes it wins best animated feature
That's so wonderful!
@@dankthomas2878 Thanks dude, what are your thoughts about memoir of a snail's chances at the oscars, like i said i really hope pixar doesnt win this time, not that i didnt like inside out 2 but i like to see international animation getting credit
As much as I love the film I doubt that it will win anything. I wasn't a fan of Inside Out 2 tbh so even though I haven't seen it yet I'd rather have The Wild Robot be the one to win out of the 2 most popular choices, just so it's at least not Disney or a sequel.
It's not cheylan it is jeylan
My bad, it was my Romanian way of pronouncing it
absolutely incredible film. the best I saw this year without a doubt.
omg i felt the same way!!! i love love this movie, same i cried myself throughout the duration of the movie.
Thanks everyone for getting this video to 2K views (so far)!!!!
I have seen it last week and it was awesome.
Thank you so much for this recommendation
a wonderful review
Oh ok, I'll watch it then ❤
Hi, big fan of your channel, hope it blows up.
Thanks my fellow Invictus girlie
Such a beautiful and passionate review. I remember catching this up a year ago at Kolkata film festival and it has resonated with me since. I still can feel the hypnotic trance of two scenes in particular. First one, during the conversation with Comrade Nurray, when there is backshot of the wind blowing through her hair. Second, the three of them driving during a snow storm.
slayed this
Zeki Demirkubuz: şerefsiz çok iyi film yapmış yine ya!
It was a really great movie, specially the ending when he starts picturing Sevim (the girl) playing snowballs with him. I could only stare at the beauty of that scene. He too much reminds me of the quality you can find in Bergman and Tarkovsky films. Slow pace and poetic. So beautiful, just love it.
Her biri harika, her biri güzel filmler... Türkiye'yi yansıtan filmler. Ancak Anadolu kavramı tek başına yeterli değil. Nuri, insanın temeline iner. İnsanlığın derinliklerinde dolaşır.
I liked it even I went to see alone at theatre first time ever and there was only 2 people and me lol so it was funny. But I didnt understand the "shocking scene". But I'm not sure do i need to understand it or not lol
I think that moment is really what you personally feel but to me that was kinda like the character's ego breaking? Or like a moment so major that reality cracks
Moving on on mysteryroad; fantastic!
kinda gay
You don't say

okay Thomas I'll give it a watch if you say so

Merci beaucoup! Personally I wanted those long shots because I wasn't going for "dynamic" so much as I was going for unease/frustration by being long. There's a lot of sound work I put in the long passages but maybe it's not audible enough without certain headphones, in which case I'll try to keep that in mind in the future. Thanks for watching and reacting!
love it🙌🙌🙌🙌

oooooo zo mooi🫶🫶 mn fave shots zijn die om 1:59 die lichten zien er crazy uit
Die bus met lichten doet mij denken aan de Katbus uit Totoro
It’s like looking at a Seurat Painting at close range to better see and understand it. Only the Artist knows what’s going on. I would like to see the story without the visual showing off. Because it made me dizzy and I had the feeling I was too stupid to understand. Establishing a semblance of cohesion is always good - what I grasped is this: Passion, Adolescence, Death, Desire.
This was a personal thing I made 3 years ago when I was 17 with the means I had and just kinda using everything that interested me at the time. I have no real reason to tell this exact story again right now but it could be something to revisit later for sure. Thanks for watching! P.S. Seems like you did grasp the correct themes
Wait. I will.

Caspar David Friedrich. Check out the paintings.
I already love him! His paintings are referenced in this short film of mine from 3 years ago: ua-cam.com/video/dyBiCAl9hTE/v-deo.html
