Hey sorry for the late reply. We don't really have much availability of fly fishing gear in India. Especially for tying materials. Though there are exporters in Kolkata u could buy things from, most of them will charge you in dollar rate though, since that's how they advertise on their website. @@drdenis72 thank you 🙏 I guess it must be the spots, because at this confluence I can always get coppers on tight line nymphing, or mono rigs. And on a strike indicator on the stream that feeds it. However, at other locations it's not as easy for me. Though I think euro nymphing would be very effective. As far as dries go, I still haven't had a fish on it. Had some small fish have a go at it, without any hook up though. Streamers work well sometimes when cast upstream, allow to dead drift and then work the swing slowly.

Which months are best catches? I have been catching golden Mahseer on a streamer. I gave up spin fishing for a decade now. Tight lines

@@drdenis72 I find the time between Feb to May the best. Water is fairly low and it gets much easier to get your fly to the bottom. I guess if u got a pristine stream with difficult access, then depth doesn't matter. I have seen Hoppers being taken fairly often in the jungle streams of Indonesia. I prefer small streams for fly fishing here in sikkim

Khola ma dhunga huncha. Dhunga ma Macha lukcha. So alik lures ra spinners arkincha. U can't avoid that. U will lose a lot of lures and spinners trying to catch fishes in our rivers, as most of the fish tend to stay at the bottom more often than not. With enough time spent on the river u will learn how to retrieve most of the lost lures, and how to try and avoid snags

There are a lot of factors that come into play when using lures of any kind to hook a fish. Time of the year, water conditions, water depth, being able to roughly guess where a fish would be holding(reading water), how you are fishing the lure(fast, slow, top mid or bottom of the water column) etc, etc. It's really difficult to explain exactly how to do it. The best advise I can give is to keep fishing and observe how others do it. It will come eventually. After u hook your first one u will just know 🤪. U will lose a lot of spinners and plugs while u try.
