    Eh I can understand the camping complaint because IT IS STUPID But sadly the game is not made for constant chase like DBD If you are a hunter, you either camp the chair you currently have or you go for someone else Most people choose the former because the latter is a HUGE RISK in this game. There's many stuners and a lot of advantages for the survivors that the hunters simply lack or don't have. So the strategies usually revolve around camping the chair and harassing the other ciphers to slow down decoding. Leave the chair for too long and the survivor could not only get away but also potentially never get chaired again if the teammates are capable enough. When people say the game is survivor sided is mostly due to the many differences both sides have, the conclusion is that the survivors have way better chances due to their abillities. Some people like to pretend that it's not but when comparing the two from both sides it really is more in favor to the survivors. The hunters that succeed more are those that either camp better (Dream witch, Guard 26) or have many tools at their disposal that can be used very easily to down survivors (Night Watch, Naiad, Shadow, Photographer) and even then a Hunter has to be way more focused if they want to get any wins. You are either a ruthless pursuer or an unforgiving camper. Do a slight mistake or take too long on a task and you will be severily punished. All of that is because the game is just flawed from the start comparing the two, the differences are quite clear just by looking at the endgames of both: DBD's endgame urges survivors to escape with a timelimit while IdV's is simply both exit gates being openable. And they open way more quickly than DBD's so if the hunter doesn't act quick in this situation then the survivors might escape very easily. "It all depends" sure, but that still doesn't mean the game is not terribly unbalanced. That's why "Which side has it better" is a popular discussion even after so many years. Also, side note, that "They don't do anything and stay still after chairing" is funny because... If you play hunter, you can see every cipher and their progress by how much they shake. If a fairly experienced hunter is standing still in front of you after putting you in a chair, they're most likely tracking everyone else, including potential rescuers coming to the chair by moving their camera around (Which you wouldn't see). It just felt like a silly complaint to me, really. Also, yeah, the complaint of the controls is valid, a lot of people have it because it just sucks in general. The people that kick you out could potentially have the same button attached to that action which is dumb but the game sometimes just does that for some reason. In any case, it's an alright game me thinks The problems just pile up more and more if you decide to take it more seriously but it's whatever in casual play A lot can be ignored easily

    I think the difference between dream and technoblade's cockiness was that techno never took himself too seriously. I remember techno getting that bounty put on him in one of the last minecraft mondays, and the man ran for the hills. He didn't complain that it wasn't fair, or whine, he just knew it was making good content so played into the silly "getting hunted down in the street" narrative. He was also pretty open that the cockiness and confidence was all a schtick to be funny and watchable. I dont think I've ever really heard dream talk openly about not being good enough, or not being the best, its like he always needs to defend himself or explain why actually hes right in a tone that makes you feel like you were too stupid to see it.

    I just wanted to add that idv bought the official license rights to dbd, so it's not an illegal copy of dbd. I love idv because it's so hard to find a mobile game that you can play for free without getting bombarded by ads or being unable to properly compete with other users. The only thing idv sells are skins and furniture which you can easily do without.

    U kind of have to camp or else ur basically garunteed to lose….. plus ur not doing nothing whilst u camp u have to large camp like using warp or most hunters have things to do whilst waiting for surv to be rescued like putting ur rock as fools or sending out notes like antonio… or kust breaking pallets that the surv used to kite.. by the time u do that someone already goes to rescue to do it before half so yeah… idk why ppl conplain its a strategy its not supposed to be like dbd

    I used to think the whole camping method was ass but when I played hunter and the more I played idv I learned that it is a strategy for a reason, once you understand the mechanics you stop caring about it. And while I do agree that the whole gacha system kinda sucks sometimes I do like that in idv you can easily grind for all the stuff you want, characters, various skins, accesories, pets etc even for the essences you can grind to open them for free

    Hey, been playing this game since 2018 and DBD since 2019 (keep in mind I play Identity V a fair amount more than DBD, Something I do wanna say about the no-ed for every killer and camping/tunneling. The game is very fast paced, about 8 minutes average, unlike DBD where matches usually last twice as long. The reason for this is because Identity V is primarily a mobile game, it's basically supposed to have fast quick paced matches like most mobile games, Brawl Stars and Clash Royale. Mind you, camping isn't really encouraged by more experience players, there's a thing called proxy camping and knowing when to leave a chair to put pressure etc. If a hunter lets a survivor escape just to chase someone else all the Ciphers will flash before your eyes. The game is very competitive, much more competitive than DBD, I think the reason for this is because of that flashy victory screen, some people find enjoyment out of winning more than the gameplay, so it's very very common for hunters to do this. It's not for everyone because of this.

  • @ratspector
    @ratspector 12 днів тому

    okay so I'll try to break down some of the points you made about the gameplay (idc about gacha or all that anyone has their own opinion about it): i cant speak for people that may find camping fun or endearing, but the game is designed in such a way that camping gives hunters a higher chance of victory than not camping because of this: the ciphers move really fast and every survivor in the game except for a few have numerous ways to make chases last longer by virtue of just how they work. as far as im aware, survivors in dbd dont play much differently from each other whereas every survivor in idv is wildly different and they all have items and strategies that allow them to kite for a long time. a minute of chase is already hard to come back from as a hunter since that means more than half of 3 ciphers will be finished by the time the chase has ended. take for example the psychologist, a character that has no kiting abilities but has a self healing mechanic by which she has a 30 second shield during which if you down her, she'll take 2 hits again once she gets off the chair instead of 1. so that's 30 free seconds of kiting during which all 3 other survivors were decoding freely. if you leave the survivor in the chair and chase someone else and that surv gets rescued and you lose them and they get healed again, they can do the same thing all over again. im not even a high tier (im a griffin which is mid tier) and in these levels, a hunter choosing to leave someone who is 1 chair away from dying can give us the win easily and i haven't even spoken about the really hard to chase survivors that are walking 3 cipher kite machines which is uh... most of them, except for the decoders. survivor abilities stay as strong as they were 90% of the times even aften numerous nerfs (i main prospector and he buys so much free kiting even if hes now half as strong as he was when he was released) but hunter nerfs not only hurt them more than survivors, but survivors learning how to counter unnerfed hunter abilities already makes the gameplay change abruptly. there's a lot of hunters that were considered meta 1 to 2 years ago and they were unstoppable until they weren't (such as the clerk) even though they didn't get heavy nerfs just because people got better so yeah my conclusion is that there is no way at this point in the game to make it less camp based without altering the way the whole game works. cipher rush is fast, all survivors can kite easily with extremely strong abilities, and even hunters who are *on chase* undefeatable (like opera singer) are, when deciding not to camp, prone to getting rushed

    • @ratspector
      @ratspector 12 днів тому

      oh and if any dbd player can correct me on this, i think dbd killers can reduce progress on the generators at any time? whereas in idv thats an active trait with a heavy cooldown that gets less effective every time you use it, so thats fun

    3:08 They made it time limited so queue time for QM and other modes isn't always long, and vice versa for the 2v8 mode. If they made the 2v8 mode available all the time most players would always play that mode, making the QM matches longer. 11:13 Same with rank, if rank is always available and doesn't have a schedule, it will take forever too because players would play any time they want, But if it has schedule, people will gather during that time to play, so many people can match up quickly

    As a clerk main, I’d say that the community (minus the toxic portion) is the best place for inquiries! Official discords and even discords of idv-focused UA-camrs (such as Zeez) are great places for help too. I believe that idv is a very good game, despite the gacha; I do love the themes of each essence and stories imbued within them. If you’re seeing this, yesimLP, I hope you have great fun with idv in the future (and may the gacha deities spare your soul.)! It’s tedious at first, but once you get into the groove and mechanics, such as how to kite and utilize a wide variety of characters with ranging abilities, I reckon you’d have about as much fun if not more so than dbd. I love both games equally, as of now, but idv’s starting skitter up the ranks like the little parasite it is. Oh! Also, about the rank times, I do think that it is stupid of them to have it based on one central server. The community’s been trying to flay them for doing this, and personally I’m an advocate for the construction of local servers with local time, but sadly NetEase is a company and thus if they can miser money, they will. Here is a long list of characters that I believe you should try out! -> Florian, he’s a puff and really fun to play, if you’re into that. -> Breaking Wheel, they’ve been shut in the cellar since 2023, but if you’re the type to enjoy zooming around and steering like a tractor, I recommend them! -> Keigan, personal bias ahem -> First Officer, there’s something about juking low-rank hunters that is so thrilling… -> Anything you’d like! Simple as that. I’d say that camping is actually quite a fun strategy; face camping is not, but patrolling and securing a kill while maintaining decoding at a standstill is part of the chase as a whole rather than the camp. Dbd’s racking up a stigma about camping, but it’s sadly crucial😢😢 Happy 2025, loved the vid and happy new addiction🎉

    idv is strategy based. dbd is not, comparing them is simply not possible. its like comparing chess to building blocks. in idv, you have specific roles, specific skillsets, builds, kiting locations, hunters, hunters abilities, final traits, everything to factor in. the only critique-able thing about the game is the screwed over gacha system, which is very pricey. but at least its not p2w!

    Judging from your gameplay, you are the bad random that everyone hates, but it's ok, we all start somewhere. Anyways imo atleast idv doesn't have anything that u pay for that affects the game play (just cosmetics for those with money to burn), dbd however 😬, I played dbd for 2 years and idv for 6 years, your problem is that you are comparing it to dbd and talking as if that's a healthy well established standard. Final opinion, Dbd better controls, idv deeper game sense. looping in idv or kiting may sometimes be ou of your hands but you need game sense, dbd u prob fine if u can loop. also u did 14 mistakes from the gameplay I saw most of them regarding game sense.

    in low tier, which includes elk, face-camping is common. however, the higher tier you go, the hunter tends to patrol in order to get an early hit then down the survivor once they catch up. also, depending on the hunter, their strongest ability is their camp. for example, guard 26 and the disciple! if you want less face-camping, you can rank up more. it’s not common unless the hunter, as i said before, is a camp hunter.

      Fun fact: the developers of Dead By Daylight actually helped with the development of Identity 5 and even promoted the game back in 2018. Back in its beta it was a much more darker grittier tone, the rocket chairs were actually nooses, Hell’s Ember used to use a scythe which is still seen in his inferno shadows, Smiley Face used to have a chainsaw and shortly after its release, the rocket chairs used to have barbed wire which the survivors were wrapped in, the barbed wire was eventually changed due to the course that dumb school kids were tying each other up to the chairs. Not so fun facts: Tunneling and camping is such a pain cause sometimes you can literally have a match end for you within the first min of the game if your instantly found and downed as a survivor, it has come a long way since its 2018 release but in comparison to DBD (I played DBD before this game) they each have their pros and cons such as IDV’s 2v8 mode being far superior to DBDs but then there’s DBDs point system being far better than IDVs etc etc, this post could go on forever but I’m mainly just commenting to let you know the fun little tidbits

    Most hunters have a secondary ability where they can watch the map and do damage from afar while they’re camping. They’re not usually sitting still. Examples are clerk, sculptor, hermit, Ann, the shadow off the top of my head. I encourage you to play more hunter matches to see how this works.

    Rank is time limited the way it is because of Chinese laws. As it was made by a Chinese company it has to follow their laws to discourage people from playing video games all day. This is also why it’s “a kids DBD” they have to censor all gore.

    On camping, I can actually have fun guarding the rocket chair because I’m a Sculptor main. And her half presence ability lets you through her 0 presence ability at a location of you choosing for a short time. With good aim you can scared a survivor off a cypher, and get some damage in. I also like putting graffiti and emoting after I place some one on the chair. So yeah, I have some fun camping. But I will sometimes leave to chair, to try and head off a rescue.

    The gachas isn’t what it seems their has been strategies to open their is the midnight trick or the lucky minute, the midnight trick is well you open them in midnight, and the lucky minute which if you have a guild you can look at the log and see if anyone got the skin you desire at a specific time and try to do the same. If no one got your desired skin you can look at a vid and look at the server and try to estimate at what time they got the skin, I’ve tested this and got duplicate A tiers for every 10 I opened in A row for example I opened 12 essences and got a S tier, and in the 3rd danganrompa essence I got everything besides a graffiti under 96.

    I really do not get why people hate camping so much. I personally didn’t play dbd so maybe that’s why. But the point is that camping is a strategy that the game wants and encourages you to use. There are hunters whose abilities are better at chair camping than anything like Bon Bon, Fool’s Gold and Sculptor. There are specific buffs for survivors who are rescuer type to rescue faster or guarantee a save rescue. That’s the whole point and that is a game’s core mechanic.

    • @DeathSentence1991

      It’s mainly the issue when your playing a match and your found immediately in 5seconds, strapped to a chair, no one comes to rescue you (since unlike DBD you can try to escape yourself at the cost of rocket chair progress advancement) and then your blasting off like team rocket back to the manor before you can even say IDV 2 Electric Boogaloo. It’s far worse for new survivors starting out and then the existence of smurfs who just ruin the fun for everyone cause they can’t win against people of their own skill, it’s appalling and smurfs should just get captured by Gargalmel and imprisoned forever (yes this is a joke but nothelesss smurfs suck on either team)

    The camping definitely is necessary in IDV compared to DBD. Atleast with specific characters it is. (some hunters will fail miserably if they try to camp, while others are built for it.) For example, the nightmare you went up against made a major mistake by camping. I was in the top 50 nightmare players and i learned VERY quickly that his chase is the STRONGEST thing about him. To teleport across the map is perfect for pressuring ciphers while someones chsired, then returning once they're rescued. Even then, nightmare tends to fail in higher tiers BECAUSE his camping is so weak, cipher rush is something you can never come back from once going against survivors who can kite for 3+ ciphers. You have to be a god with your chase to be able to get a win. Im also in the top 300 fools gold players and hes the complete opposite. Id say his camping is the strongest thing about him (since theres only 1 place to focus on throwing your picaxe to deal chip damage,, that being the rocket chair.) unless the survivors are throwing,,, you usually wont get far UNLESS you camp. I know how frustrating it gets getting farmed off chair but the experiences you have with it improves the further up you rank. (Good rescuers/assists know how to get their teammate off chair and support them) Like some characters can take more than 2 hits before getting downed so theyll body block, sometimes even get downed to buy more time. Others can stun the hunter, bait them into hitting the chair with their abilities, ect.. Dont hang me for this,, but a lot of the gameplay complaints does feel like lowier tier talk 😅(of course not the things out of the players controls like the bugged PC version or crap ton of buttons.) it is a strange way of doing things but theres specific strategies to avoid this. The gacha IS absolutely horrible though. Its the worst gacha ive seen in any game ever. Thankfully though with one of the permanent essences you can choose a specific skin, emote, and accessories you get after you hit the pity (it resets every year i believe.) it has every skin released exclucing limited ones like collabs, events, ect. although with EVERY other essence its literally impossible to get anything unless you drop a crap ton of cash or get crazy luck. The limited times are.... Unusual to say the least. But it definitely does add importance to the matches you end up getting (for better or for worse..) Idv is mid at best i agree, but its its own little niche and i think thats great. Sorry for the little rant 🤞 im a high tier hunter and mid tier survivor. I started playing in 2020 and while im not the best at the game i can*now* understand things that baffled me when i first started playing. It really just takes time and experience and things generally improve (except for the gacha.. thatll never get better.)

      @@wakemeupinside83 you'll get it 😅 I'd say a big part of improving in the game comes from memory. every survivor/hunter is so different-down to their animation times and hitbox. Learning maps and routes to take is also important. Once u get the hang of it,, trust,, u got the hang of it

    real funny thing, in the currency section, you forgot anniversary coins, costume pieces and sticker coins lmao, and even i might have forgotten one hahaha, also the "left click to remove LG" is never really an issue since most people play with custom controls, also there are a few hunters and survivors you can get for free when beginning, and there are tutorials for pc too but they're not easy to access
