First Turkey of the year for Drake
We have never hunted this farm and no chance to even scout before our season. We looked at the topo map and saw it was a hayfield with steep drop offs in the timber. We found a finger that met two other fingers with a little bump in the contour. I'm like they are going to use this little ridge and it pays off. Sometimes it pays to just look at the land if you can/t be there in person to scout.

2024 Turkey Season Bearded Hen and Hard Work Paying Off!!
Переглядів 1493 місяці тому
Dillon went out for his second season tom turkey and had an unexpected surprise. We had a bearded hen with a 7-8" beard drop by. After a slow day with the big boys the next morning had a strutter in the decoys right after light.

We are really getting lucky with warm temperatures for this time of year. The deer have been dropping their antlers at a good clip so that keeps us putting on the miles.
Iowa Whitetails Sheds Week 2 2024. Dillon Finds a Stud!!!
Переглядів 1,4 тис.5 місяців тому
We are a couple weeks into shed hunting now after some snow melt. I believe we have 23-24 sheds. Dillon finds a stud that had to be uncovered by cows or something. It's been a great start with two side by side sets and a stud this week.
2024 Iowa Shed Antler Season is under way and starting off HOT!!
Переглядів 9 тис.5 місяців тому
A couple of big snowstorms and some bitter temperatures had us trapped inside early January. Now we have had some rain and above freezing temps to free up some antlers lost in the snow. Yes, Dillon now knows they are hedge apples not crab apples.

Family Pheasant Hunt over Thanksgiving See Lots of Roosters
Iowa must have an insane deer population
@@jasonnester9514 It used to be better before EHD. These weren’t the biggest ones we find. So mainly 2-3 year olds. It’s a good south facing hillside though.
@@3dhunting here in Ohio anymore if u can find 10-15 sheds all season u did well Every year less woods more shed hunters almost not worth it
Good job! Enjoyed the video!
Thank you
Awesome!
Thanks!
Great job DJ!
Thanks Lance!! biggest spurs I’ve ever seen.
That setup was perfect, I can tell you know what you’re doing
Thanks. It’s being in the right spot but they always come after a Jake. Even if the hen is there.
@@3dhunting they usually like to show off for the ladies
The spurs, fan and beard indicate the gobbler is at least a two year old bird. It’s a good one!
That’s what I told Dillon. He’s learning but he’s a darn good hunter.
I wouldn't, but then, I'm not a big turkey guy.
No.
We didn’t either
Favorite kind of fishing
Same they fight so hard.
Those side by side sets are an awesome find! Good video of shed hunting!
Thank you. It doesn’t always work like that. Maybe one good set a year.
Why haven’t you posted any videos in awhile?
Spring break we went on vacation. Then we’ve been golfing a lot too. We will get out more soon. We have been catfishing some.
Yeah I have been Wallye and smallmouth fishing and it’s been pretty good so far.
Wish our deer would shed already
Where are you located. I’m surprised they haven’t at least started. I used to think they started around Super Bowl here but it gets earlier all the time.

@@jasonnester9514I would think you’d be similar to us in Iowa.
Love those side by side sets n congratulations on that big set
Thank you!!
You find cool antlers, but it hurts my neck looking at the sky spinning in circles
I’ve told him that for years but that’s the way he does it.
@@user-wv5pp2so1o it’s the way he holds the camera. That’s all
Do you watch your own videos?
They're all cool sheds, but alot of sky spinning.
@@loriegrecco3384 Yes. Essentially we started making them so we could go back years from now and remember everything we did when my boys were younger. I think we’ve been making them 4-5 years.
Good shit man
Thanks!!
@@3dhuntingI haven’t gotten the chance to get out yet, but plan on it soon! Do you hunt too?
@@Joshuajain22 We hunt just about everything when we get a chance.
@@3dhuntingsweet dude! I try and do the same. I got a decent bear with my bow this year as well as a decent buck
@@Joshuajain22 That’s awesome. No bears here unfortunately
What’s your biggest shed ever score
Im pretty sure 101'' range. Honestly some of my favorites have been tiny sheds but obviously nothing beats a 65" plus antler!!
Dude you need to take a backpack with you to carry all ur sheds.🤣
No kidding I have one but keep forgetting to grab it before I go.
Nice finds dude, to much talking tho bababababababa
Thanks noted
One more thing dude why must we see your face instead of where your going, I hope that'll be noted to
@@locatlocat3514 Because they are my videos. I’m sorry it doesn’t work for you.
I understand dude but if you want more subscribers a lot less talking and more of what your viewing will get you them
@@locatlocat3514 In all honesty we make the videos for us. I started making videos so I could look back years from now with my boys and relive our memories. People just started watching them so that’s fun too.
Nice finds love that giant shed nice character. What are the shed hunting regulations for Iowa? Can you keep deadheads?
Thanks. We can keep dead heads but you need to get a tag from the DNR. We only keep them if they are crazy good. Just not enough space at home.
Didn’t even see the first 2 antlers
That’s on me. He filmed with his phone. On my computer it looks ok. Watching on a phone didn’t translate well. My bad
All good I was just letting y’all know. I love your guys content. Keep it up
Zoomed in to far
Cheers for the vid mate!! From Australia.
Thanks. We appreciate it.
Are you on a deer farm?
No it’s just a bottom that the deer stay out of wind. We had a ten day stretch of storms that probably had them congregating together this winter. We’ve got a couple other good farms that were the same way this year. When we found them they were all together.
not planted!!! He's in Iowa
you can’t show the sheds in ur hand before you start shed hunting and expect people to believe it.
Sorry you feel that way. Don’t always remember to make my intros. Watch the other dozens of shed videos and look at all the beds. I’m pretty legitimate.
Man I miss those days!!
Looks like you’re calling cedar trees pines maybe it’s my eyes but looks like cedar trees
They are cedars you’re right
Sweet finds
Thanks!!
Planted antlers for sure
You’ve never shed hunted before I see
You are funny I actually shed hunt unlike you planting them
Itching to go but still early a lot still holding
I’m sure we have too but ours weathers been so nice for a February

@@kokadjooutdoors620 Nice. In time the will fall.
@@3dhunting found dead head 8pt today. Too bad young buck with good potential
Nice finds
Thank you. We are starting to pile them up after the snow.
Awesome day! I liked the spike set the best too lol (its a shed hunter thing lol hardest ones to see!) Keep doing what you're doing/don't listen to the negative comments!!
We have a basket full of them. They aren’t the biggest but certainly the hardest to find.
Point camera at the woods not up your nose!!
Noted
Don’t have to be a cunt about it!!
I have yet to find one.
Still plenty with horns on yet.
Y’all gotta quit planting sheds for videos.
This year has been a good one early but I’m afraid our biggest ones died of EHD this fall. We haven’t found any of them yet.
Wow! Lots of early drops. What state are you located in? Very few dropped where I live.
Iowa. We had a rough storm about a month ago that had them pretty concentrated.
Nice
Thanks!!
Need a big backpack 🎒 or a good turkey vest with a big game bag on the back Bud 😮 nice finds
Thanks. I got one for Christmas and forgot it.
Go back and watch your video at the 7:22 mark you turn the camera towards your dog and there is a shed directly in front of it. Probably the match to the one you had just found
Yeah. My battery died. So I was trying to edit it in.
@@3dhunting so that was a shed? Did you get it that day?
@@123454321sean. Yes they were all that day
Great finds! I’m heading out there in March to do some scouting and shed hunting!
Good Luck. I hope the darn squirrels stay away!!
Nice job dude, it's always best to carry a pack with you btw
That’s Hilarious. I got one for Christmas this year and forgot it at home.
Only watched this clip but there is another antler at the beginning at your feet
Yeah I found both at the same time
Lots of good finds
Thanks. We’re already finding quite a few good ones this year.
Looking forward to the next few months 🔥
We’ve already found 20 some already we had a pile of snow stressing them out. It’s not normally melting this soon.
@@3dhunting found my first of the year yesterday, I’m in eastern Iowa and we also had that happen. Plan on hitting it hard the next few weeks. Good luck guys!
Nothing more frustrating than hearing a rooster flush when you’re loading your gun
I know. You’d think I would know better but I always reload quick so I don’t forget out of habit.
I use a double barrel and I reload so quickly that when the dog is going after the downed bird that I don't even remember reloading. @@3dhunting
@@SimpleHuntssame hear. How do you like that double barrel?
@@3dhunting I love my beretta silver pigeon. My dog Tori is named after my wife's Browning Citori. I do not recommend a Bennelli 828...you can watch a video on my channel about that. Punchline is that the Bennelli safety is so recessed that I couldn't get it off and missed three birds in five hunts because of it. Another bonus toa double barrel is that it takes about 3-4 minutes to clean. I clean it right after the hunt at the trtuk while the pups are having some vitals.
Dropped it in a fight most likely. You can see the tip of it is already broken. That spot it busted might be along the breakage point when they drop naturally, but that doesn't mean it dropped naturally.
It makes sense that it could be from a fight but it broke off perfectly. Either way a good little find.
Where u get that headcover
Scheels
Heard a few have dropped already along the northern border states...dry year and stress will do that.
It’s so dry where we are for sure.
Busted off sparring?
I don’t know. It came off clean at the pedicel.
What state ?
Iowa. It’s way early for us. The weather has been warm too. It’s odd.
