Owning a Ducati - there are things that are the nature of the beast and you expect them. But none of the issues mentioned are really of any concern. That being said - a better fuel gauge would be great so you don’t get stranded. The pluses of the bike make the complaints quite insignificant.
@@leefruzza1672 overall it is a great bike for sure. Just some small complaints but every bike has something right.
I have an old 2016 821 i am thinking about upgrading to 937. What do you think?
@@shadimagdy8196 Sounds like a great plan brother. Expect it to be a lot lighter and more nimble.
Hmmmn, weighing up this or the 24 MT09 sp :P
@@NeilDuly SP for sure.
Is it popping in every gear while driving ?
Sometimes during upshifts. Always when slowing down and getting in the lower RPM range.
Real genuine facts✅✅✅
Yes kingggg
I couldn't believe you complained about wind on a naked bike. You forgot number six: It only has two wheels.
@@docimastic omg are you okay. Such a shocker on top of everything going on can be hard I can imagine. Be well brother.🙏
Are you dutch?
@@shadimagdy8196 correct brother
No mention of servicing costs, that my only real apprehension of Ducati ownership.
It wasn't something I hated, so yeah that isn't mentioned. But to answer your 'question', I do a yearly service that costs me roughly 130 euros where all the liquids get replaced and such. My maintenance costs so far with the 3 years of ownership is approx 300 euros.
My monster 937 has probably sterilized me by now in this Florida heat . 10/10 bike would buy again
Good god 🤣
At first I didn't want to watch the video, but these are all things I can live with. Buying a Ducati has never been a rational decision.😂 Have fun and ride safe ✌️
Yeah that is true brother. I am quite a rational person lol and let me be clear, "5 thing I hate" just sounds better than "5 things I don't really like"🤣🤣
Succinct and logical train of thought. I admire the styling of the Italian brands having owned a Guzzi V7 at one time but Ducati and Aprillia appear to be more for cult followers like HD. Thank you for a well presented review.
Doesn’t look like a ducati
Derp derp.
For the people looking for the bars, this product is called the Rizoma Drag bar, not flat bar! Sorry for the confusion!
Hi do you have a link to the flat bars I can’t seem to find them
Sorry, it's called the Rizoma drag bar!
Thanks! Did you make any changes when installing it? Any issues with cable lengths etc from the stock bar?
@@PaoloCamara No! Just my left button thingy (where the indicator is and such) is turned a bit to the outside to prevent hitting my tank when the steering is all the way to the left so that is something to keep in mind and be careful with.
I read that you also need to drill some holes into the bar and someone suggested bar risers??? I imagine you didn’t use the risers but did you need to drill at all?
@@PaoloCamara I did not use risers but I did have to drill holes! Or at least, my mechanic did.
Not too bad. Still think that aviator gray with red wheels is a sweet livery for this bike.
Agree, my number 2 favorite color on it
@@motorcycle-man Then again, Ducati red is still my favorite...biased I guess 😉
@@burner188 same, we own one brother 🤣🤣🤣🤣
No more trellis frame😢
Sorry brother 😟
Thanks for the video bro. I'm looking at buying a bike and was thinking of an mt09/ninja but was thinking for the price i might as well look at a monster. It was the first ever bike I saw that made me want to ride. Now, I just need to sell my dad's harley....
Let's go brother!!!
Que cola de escape llevas puesta?
I think you are asking what exhaust I have, If so, this is the MIVV X-M5. More videos on it on my channel!
The monster has always been my favorite motorcycle, but for some reason, it’s one I’ve never owned. I have to admit, I prefer the looks of the trellis framed models, and after looking at the new one in the flesh, I can’t bring myself to trade my R9T in on one. Maybe a test ride would change my mind. Anyway, I like what you’ve done with yours.
Perfectly understandable brother. Based on your current bike, you prefer a certain look to a motorcycle that Ducati very much steered away from for this generation. What you experience with the Monster I had the exact other way around. Go and try it out man! If anything, look into the Monster 1200. I am confident you can find that to be more appealing! Safe travels!
@@motorcycle-manI love the Ducati L-Twin, there is just something about that motor that does it for me. The way it makes power, the noises it makes, I absolutely love it. The BMW boxer motor, while being a great power plant, just just doesn’t have that same effect on me. The sound of that old air cooled two valve Desmodue with a termi exhaust is just magical. But your right, I must secure a demo ride at some point.
Hi, could you tell me please what tank grip stickers you use?
Hey Brother, these are by R&G!
🔥😎
Yes King🙏🙏
How did you hold the metal thing after you took away the db killer? Theres no way to put the screw back so you can hold it
Ditched that too lol. Found it a bit dumb design that you can't put that back.
@@motorcycle-man found the way to fix it. Theres a type of platen with a hole for the screw that comes with the exhaust. You have to put it into the exhaust where the hole is and then just introduce the end of the exhaust so you can enter the screw and hold it.
@@manuelgamella617 Oh for real lol thanks brother, I'll recheck the box
You go worse than stock with the mivv 😅😂
Brotherman you are wilding😤🤣
Did you have to upmap with the new exhaust?
Negative! As long as you leave the catalysator for what it is, you won't need to!
You should have bought the SP
Nah, the MT-09 SP. And to be fair, the Monster SP was released in 2023.
Sounds amazing! Any additional tune done on this bike since installing the Mivv?
Negative sir. Just did the slip-on so that wouldn't be necessary. Ride safe brother 🙏
@@motorcycle-man Appreciate it! You do the same 👍😎
My fob keeps cutting in and out it’s a pain when ur on a ride and u keep getting phone calls , must be a hardware issue as it’s a few years old and I’ve changed the battery 3 times now in 2 weeks :( time for a new fob.
Sure sounds that way brother. You can find them in the Monimoto webshop 🙏
I think it’s an absolute shame that Ducati hasn’t put out a “big boy” Monster to replace the 1200. They could easily/at least give us a Monster with the 155hp Superquadro 955cc from the Panigale V2… of course I’d rather see them put the 1260cc from the Diavel tho (and it can NEVER be a V4). Either way, they need to bring us a big boy Monster with 150ish+ hp and a single sided swingarm. Until then I’ll be eyeing the Monster 1200 S as my next bike. It’ll be my third Ducati.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! It's always interesting to hear different perspectives on Ducati's lineup.
Isn’t that what the street fighter is?
@@jockwithajoystick6851 The existence of the Streetfigher V2 is most likely the reason why the Monster variant that Projectg408 is dreaming of will never happen lol
@@motorcycle-man which is too bad honestly. I much prefer the aesthetics of the monster line
I recently got a 2020 Monster 1200s with 7,000km on the clock. I preferred this to the Streetfighter, both in looks and engine characteristics. The 1200 doesn’t come up for sale very often though.
Nice!
Thank you! Cheers!
I have it and I love it! 😍👍🏻
I would never own a Duc because paying for desmo valve services but if I did it would be the monster
I expect mine to be sold when that gets on the to-do list for the mechanic lol
Great observation. Thanks
Thanks for watching!
Agreed on ALL points. Well said. Just over a year ownership of mine, and I'm still loving it. The trellis frame lamenting and arguments are kinda funny, but I guess I get it. To me the trellis frame "looks" are utilitarian at best. By no means any hint at modern styling or design...just my opinion of course. But, having recently rode a 2019 Monster 821, there's just no comparison to the new gen Monster 937 in terms of performance. That 40 difference, the newer geometry, that 937 Testastretta power plant all makes the newer gen Monster superior in overall performance.
Absolutely brother. Thanks for your comment. Merry christmas and safe riding.
Heerlijke bike!
Ik zie dit kanaal nu pas joh. Goeie videos maestro. Ik heb je gesubbed +1 👍
Ik upload niet frequent genoeg om echt op te vallen haha. Thanks buddy. Welkom! 💃
Man, this bike is so good looking and fits The Netherlands landscape perfectly well… Good job on shooting and modifying the video!
Thanks brother ♥
I bought my Monster brand new in april and I have ridden it for 16.000 km's since. Had no technical issues yet, no rust, havent needed to change my chain set, although that will have to be done pretty soon. It gets hot in stop-and-go traffic but it's not something that gets in my way. The fuel indicator is indeed faulty when it's low on fuel, which gave me some anxiety while traveling through Norway when making great distances. It's only my second motorcycle I have owned but it has been nothing but fun each and every ride.
Aaaay nice brother, sounds great! Would love to ride in your country one day. Safe riding brother.
@@motorcycle-man I’m actually from your neighbouring country Belgium, but Norway is my favourite place to be. Happy riding to you too my man.
Is there anyway to turn off the daytime running light?
There is not brother. At least, no methods supplied by Ducati. You can dim it though, by pressing the DRL button on the right side of the handlebar.
@motorcycle-man thanks. I've been trying to turn mine off
@@ComedyGold-ml8wcYou don't like the look of it?
@motorcycle-man I do like it. I just don't want to have to replace it sooner rather than later 😆
@@ComedyGold-ml8wcOh brother that isn't Halogen in there. Those LEDs are going to outlast your ownership, I promise you that.🙏🙏
bro, thanks for the great video, important insights. Today I passed my riding exam with Kawasaki N6 -- completely different lazy animal. Want to buy Monster ;)
Aaaayyy Congrats brother well done💃💃💃💃🫡🫡
🙄
Don't do that, join in on the conversation brother.💃 Share your experience.
Put that monster right in that bin behind you?
Yes I love my Monster 937 too!
Rightfully so brother 🙏
How tall are you? I have the same bike. How was the installation? How did you know where to put the controls?
185cm! I let a pro do that. Switches on the left had to be tilted downwards slightly to prevent hitting the tank on steering lock.
Can you please put a picture to see how they have installe all the switches?
Had a lot of bikes, but the 937 is one of my favorites. Like you said, it feels like a low capacity motorcycle with 111 HP. Perfect for city commuting and short touring. Just a great all-rounder
I got this bike with only 5000 miles on it and I’ve had nothing but issues. Bike kept mysteriously dying while riding so I changed the entire charging system stator and voltage regulator and a brand new battery and still giving me issues. There are no loose wires I tore the bike apart and tested the old stator and regulator and they tested fine. Nothing but electrical problems I’ve had. The stock primary header all the welds blew out couldn’t handle a simple muffler delete I’m assuming
I have heard someone else had that problem that had it fixed under warranty. I'll ask for you what the problem was with hers. I'll check back with you when I can tell you more!
How long does the battery last? Do you change it when the AAs are bad at the same time?
I actually changed them for the first time last week! So about a year and a half. You'll know, because despite having the keyfob near, when going for a ride your ''alarm'' will go off haha. When the battery of the AA's go bad, you'll be notified. I replaced those a while back.
Reason why i did not pick up the Monster, but instead i went with the Street triple RS 2022, perfect engine for do-it-all.
Yeah you made a great call there brother. I have my test ride scheduled for the 2023 RS next week.
@@motorcycle-man Three red lights and i could already feel how my little kids were going away fainting 🤣🤣🤣, boiled eggs someone?
@@tomrandom7091 Yeah same here lol. It's really horrible. Especially on warmer days cause I always wear gear, boiling the soul out of my body.
@@motorcycle-man I'm sure during winter might come in handy though, but these Days when i test rode was quite cool (did rain a few days ago and temps drooped quite a bit) i can't imagine how it will be in the middle of summer or heat-wave... You literally will dry like a leaf in the middle of the desert.
How do you think about the white one? Is the SP version an option for you? Are you still driving the Rosso 3 ?
I think the white one looks great. Like the red seat on it. Do you own the white one? I am most likely switching to a Street Triple RS and am still riding the Rosso 3's. If I would switch that, I would probably pick something a little less sporty and a little more all-round use although they are great.
@@motorcycle-man I have the red one like you, I hope the white one comes as an SP version, then I'll switch. My next tires will be the Rosso 4, I've only read good things about it, although - as you wrote - Rosso 3 is great at all
Excelente video y edición, felicidades 👌, yo tengo una Monster + con wrap estilo Gulf
Did you switch to the Street triple? If yes, why? Monster not that good?
