I’ve recently completed Richard’s farm safety course and I feel better for doing it. Common sense right? Don’t let complacency or ignorance get you hurt. Don’t let your ego prevent you from brushing up on your safe systems of work. The UK Health & Safety authority told us this week that farming is the most dangerous job in the UK! WTF - let’s do something to change this statistic.

Hi again. How can you change the mind set of a farmer or hi net worth ind with land etc. or business. When they are insured and thick as fuck to boot. These peope do not care. An English mans home is his Castle and it is what you make of it. If its out of sight out of mind it will not be knicked in the first place Simple fact. Most people are not aware and dont care. We had gippos into one of our compounds last friday. Caught on cctv and by contractors that actually chased them off!! I saw footage . They were opportunist. Clocking a lighting tower. I had taken it there and left it where I was told. To put it. I made it impossible to just tow away. Does not stop soemone looking at it and then coming back to steal it.Only a £1500 quid asset. but is it worth the hassle of and insurance claim!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I offered to put it somewhere else out of sight out of mind. result MANAGEMENT did not give a toss so its still there for them to come back and steal it. they know its there to be had. Thats what you are up against. We had 15,ooo litres of diesel knicked last year. Took over 1.5 hours to pump out of the tank. Bloke stood there in hi viz opposite 24 hour garage. !!!!!!!!!!! no one batted an eye lid. Also had trucks knicked and keys for other trucks stolen same night. Does my head in . Usual Insurance claim attitude.. One of these days you will get in touch with me.

@@michaelnight3798 Hi, Who are you. I've been around this problem over 30 years. Nothing much changes. Same old same old. I'm well placed to give advice etc, but not in business to do so at moment. The police and insurance industry need to change their game. Doubt that will happen though. Answers on a post card.

Hi again. This weekend ive been reading the mentioned report. Downloaded it and have compared it to research I did over 10 years ago. Its interesting how things dont change. 2011 ruralc rime conference. stated 7255 ocgs with 38,861 nominals. NRCN Kate Tudor states there are only 22 active ocgs!!!!!!!!! 2011 there were 96 known to be active in rural crime. So there are now 74 ocg groups locked up or not working any more? NCA from 2021 assessment and plan states there are now 4772 known mapped ocg groups. yet there are 69,271 noms. So aparantly there are 2483 less ocg groups but another known 30,410 nominals added to the known list. The figures in Kates report dont add up. She hits nail on head re lack of mapping and resources.

to add to that. Plant is routinely stolen just to fascilitate cash machine rip out of a building in a rural area. I wonder what that money is then used for. It all started in N.I and has spread all over. Easy money.

All that ever ever ever happens is the constant merry go round of a few good keen coppers making an effort and catching and mainly detering criminals. It simply displaces the crime into another area. Police have next to no manpower or resources. Crims are and will continue laughing all the way to the bank. If they ever do get caught they get slapped wrist. Suspended sentences or small sentences. What you both have failed to mention or highlight is the actual criminal element we ALL should be concerned about. The ones linked to terrorism. This SHIT is what they do day to day week to week year on year to fund their agenda. Nothing changes. Just downloaded the mentioned report and scimmed through it.

When i meet you and chat will you sign a NDA. Answer on a post card. I can see what you aim to achieve but your way off the mark. All hi net worths etc dont give a toss. Their insured. Like said previous comment. Its the insurance industry that needs to be looked at.

You would be surprised how many farmers and construction companies dont even keep or have proper records and inventories of equipment and vehicles. They cannot describe to police what has just been nicked! Especially when they hire in kit or have contractors on site who then get robbed. Likewise most Police dont know a tractor from a combine harvester even rural police. It beggars belief. Ive never yet heard of anyone installing or reccomending covert cameras as well as overt cameras. With a few dummy ones to boot. Also overwatch cameras. Signage as well. Best security for farmers is dogs and geese.

When i did milling on P coy. I was paired up with same height, twice as wide as me and broken nose. I was shitting myself. Managed to draw. My mate got similar but his openent was boxer. Lights out went my mate. When he did trainaisium he managed to go through scramble net and ended up in hospital with damaged kidneys. Top tip avoid broken nose blokes.

Im interested in your comments re getting Police involved. I previously mentioned PNC blocked to Private sector. There is a phrase they use pecuniary advantage or something sounding like that. If they are involved with private sector companies that make money the police cannot be involved. Re your quote re insurance companies putting in millions!!! I beg to differ. 6 large well known insurers betwen them put in 300,000thousand pounds to fund a national police unit. That sum was to cover 2 years. In the big scheme of things a total pitance and laughable. They were and still are world wide multi Billion pound turnover businesses.

Mick spot on again. Slightly sideways but linked to all the crime is Construction industry. Its not just farming. The companies that can and do have security employ these days mostly foreign nationals as security. Paid peanuts. Company creams off all the profit. They cannot even speak english and book you in to a construction site. Go to London its a nightmare getting to a part of site where you need to be because the muppett on the gate cannot direct you and the contact phone number given does not answer his phone. H S 2 is worse. Glad I dont go there anymore. The above so called security then help to rob the asset from their inside knowledge. By passing their knowledge onto their mates. Been done for years but its getting worse. Construction industry has for years factored in theft percentage as part of their contract bids. Its a joke. Like I said in previous comment on other video ( im working my way through your vids). The insurance industry is the problem. They dont care because all this gives them the excuse to up the premiums. To add. the solar sites are well protected once up and running. CCTV to a ROC center, Ground sensors and perimeter sensors. As far as im aware its in the early construction phase when they get targetted. The Electric EV charging points country wide are likewise being ripped of the cabling before being completed and commissioned. Like Mick says. Companies need to educate the staff. But what chance is there of that when they go around looking at their phones and have headphones on. GENZ etc. Its not going to happen. If there was an incentive to report crime and reward vigilance that might help. But thats never been done.

Just come across both of you. Food for thought for me. I might get in touch with you both. Micks Mindset is totally spot on. Typical Regiment. Street wise. You will not change farmers in a million years. They ask for it time and time again. Ive been researching this area for 20 years. Not much has changed because there is next to nothing done by Police. Not their fault. Government. The insurers are the main ones that need to be sorted. The legal system is a total joke and that is what drives this high value low risk crime. World wide. There is simply no deterent full stop. They rarely get caught and if caught get a slapped wrist. Its the same people time and time again committing the crime and laughing all the way to the bank. What grips me is the security equipment available today can gather the evidence required to get people caught. Equipment that Mick used in the mil and myself used in the mil is now cheaply available. Police dont even use it. 25 years ago I was lending local Police night sights from my armoury because they only had one and it was broken. They should have bucket loads of night sights and thermal imagers etc. Same goes for drones. Its all out there. Dont get me started re trackers. Most are a waste of time. Again there is good kit available. Mick aludes to watching roads. Portable ANPR cameras could be used in rural areas to log number plates and capture vehicle images.
