I agree with some of what you say ie playing what people hear when there are in their environment in the Dance, but we also should combine this with the old ways and come away from Selectors making a lot of Hype by Cussing and Shouting making a bag of Meaningless noise play the tune for 10 seconds pull up and then play another tune, they should only pull up when they get a forward then let the tune play for at least a minute for the crowd to enjoy the tune, the crowd forwarded that tune because the crowd love that tune they knew what they were going to hear and that brought a lot of joy, this 10 sec thing with a bag of noise is killing the thing. I disagree with u when u say knowing what tune to play and when to play it is not a skill it is a Skill and a Gift that is what defines the Selector, its like playing a game of chest with the other Selectors its a Talent to feel the Vibes of the crowd and know what they want to hear, not to make it about themselves, also sound systems should get Dub Plate's from New Unkown and Up and coming Artist's who won't charge the world, Promote them Bust them and keep the thing Fresh then the Established Artist would have to Drop their Price which is also Killing the thing, Remember that Dennis, Gregory, Sugar, and such the likes of Artist's where New and Unknown Artist at one time its the sound men at the time that gave them the break. The whole thing about the sound system, was to present the Artist's in a way that no other Sound System could do which made them the best, they understood the Importance of the Artist not thinking of themselve as the Star but as the best at Presenting the Artist also sounding cleaner than any other sound🙏🏿

That's soooo funny he mentioned Shiah because I just saw a picture of him while I couldn't sleep and was up listening to some reggae artists, and doing some research. Immediately, I knew he was Cat Core's son due to the very strong resemblance of his dad and his brother, who plays the guitar in chronixx's band. Never knew Shiah before this, and it so happened that here i am watching this interview, and Bushman make mentioned of him
Mystical vibes! Thanks for watching!
Blessings to Uncle Ken!! Love hearing his songs
jah know ! Palmer dog ..I remember the 13 ...bad singer 🇯🇲💯
Sammy Dread sing ah whole heap of dance Classics in the early 80s… then he disappeared
Late seventies and early eighties are some of the sweetest dance hall error. Tube amplifier and steel horn days . Who remembered the bad rub a dub sound out of Portland the great papa taurus with selector fanny, demus, briggy, erol scarcher and ranking trevor.
Sammy Dread n Micheal Prophet singing voices are similar
Radigan is from London. He is a very hood DJ.
I Love Garnett Silk and still listen to his music all the time now. He was such an amazing singer with a good soul, and great voice. His music always carried the message of peace, love and unity ❤️💛💚 🇯🇲 can’t believe he’s been gone almost 30 yrs. The only singer I admire this much these days is @chronixxmusic he is also blessed with the same humble nature, qualities and talents ❤💛💚
He worked with another Legend, Johnny Ringo. Ringo was a pioneer and one of the greatest to hold a mic. His influence spread across London to Phillip Levi of Saxon Sounds
