The Little Match Girl has to be the sweetest way of describing dying of hypothermia. Supposedly, when you're getting really hypothermic, you start hallucinating, which is what was going on with the match girl's visions.

I was a full-on adult when that movie came out, and I didn't get that joke until a UA-cam video (not this one) pointed it out. I didn't think much about it, but if you'd asked me, I would have thought it was either a paparazzi joke or referencing camera's flashes. You’re doing a fantastic job! I also noticed this is the first time Richard’s college sweetheart is mentioned. Richard says he would have married “Lucinda Lester” by now and Emily jokes that she should have married her - it would have been very modern of her. Not sure where the name Pennilyn came from, as that’s what she is referred to in later seasons. I would so love to see a miniseries of their college years!!!! Until then, they’ll live in my mind just like Rory and Jess do 😊
