CatLadyBox October 2024 - the Black Cat box - and a bit of other waffling!
Переглядів 26Місяць тому
Hello folks! I hope you enjoy this video and can stay until the end as I throw in an idea that I'd appreciate people's thoughts on. This video covers (mainly) the October CatLady Box, which this time round is their annual Black Cat Box to coincide with October being also the month in which Hallowe'en falls. The Featured Cat Artist for October is Jesse Jarldane Art. If you'd like to look at his ...
ScrawlrBox August 2024 - What's in the Box???
Переглядів 413 місяці тому
Hello folks, I hope your week will be a good one! Today we have the ScrawlrBox August 2024 box. ScrawlrBox is a monthly box of curated mystery art supplies that's different every month . The cost is £20.95 each month, unless you get a 3, 6 or 12 month membership package, then the overall cost is a bit less for each box. This is how the contents of the August 20242 supplies are priced: Colorista...
SO WHERE THE HECK HAVE YOU BEEN, JEAN???

Hello, folks, I'm sorry I've not been about for a while and I hope this video will explain why. As usual, the video is set to "Not made for kids", but it's OK if they watch really, seeing as there's no f-bombs or anything and no rude words or pictures on my t-shirt! If you fancy a look at the Holo Taco website, check this link out, but do please be mindful about shipping costs and things like i...
My Craft Box - THE PLOT THICKENS!
Переглядів 324 місяці тому
Hello folks! I got in touch with the My Craft Box people. Find out what happens here... As usual, I've set this video to "Not made for kids" and that actually applies this time, due to my slightly sweary t-shirt (I tried to keep it out of camera view, but I'm not sure I succeeded all the way through the video).
Goodbye, Louis 😢 (TW: Sudden fur-kid loss)
Переглядів 415 місяців тому
Hello everyone, thank you for coming to watch this video. However, if you feel it will be too difficult a watch for you, I do understand. Please look after yourselves first and foremost. It was a difficult video for me to make, I can't lie. Louis' passing was very unexpected because he showed no signs of even feeling off colour, let alone being so close to the end of his life. He is missed so m...
ScrawlrBox ScrawlrPack - WHAT DID I GET??
Переглядів 595 місяців тому
Hello everyone! I hope you enjoy this video. Every so often, ScrawlrBox sell mystery bags (or, as they're listed, ScrawlrPacks). The packs are made up from items that were in past boxes, so you could end up with an assortment of things! I was lucky enough to get one on this run and that's what this video is about. The packs cost £15.00 each, but they're only available to current subscribers. If...
My first box from MY CRAFT CLUB, June 2024
Переглядів 2325 місяців тому
Hello everyone, I hope you like this video. To be honest, I felt very meh when I opened this box. It was a LOT smaller than the ones on their adverts to start with. The full price for this box would have been £46.00 with £1.99 shipping, but I got it for £20.09, which included the shipping. I was very underwhelmed by the box contents! There are online tutorials on the My Craft Club website, than...

This is handy, because I don't have a friend's code, because it's not something CatLadyBox have. If you would like to have a look at ...
Bokksu Goodies, June 2024 and WHAT'S GOING ON WITH MY NAILS??

Hello everyone, I hope you enjoy this video. It's a bit of a double dip here, because I cover the contents of the June Bokksu box, taste-testing some of the contents, and I show you what's on my nails (spoiler - these are some nail varnishes I'd bought on pre-order a couple of months ago and they arrived towards the end of last week). If you think a Bokksu subscription is something that might f...

I see books in your background, quite a few. Have you heard of the "Tonecheer Bookend" toys? One of them would surely look good among your books.
Sorry to hear about the loss of your fur friend
Thank you ❤️
I recently got a box to try. It was on discount and only got it for $34aud so not a total waste if it doesn't have what i picked off that lost. I hope it does as i'm not into diamond art or anything. I know paper craft and diy craft was 2 of my options.
I'll keep my fingers crossed that you'll get some things you want in it, although it does look like the diamond art stuff will be there regardless - I've no idea why they think that everyone loves them!
Thank you for the update! Still following you and still loving the videos!
Thankyou for your thoughtful comment and ongoing support, Vincent. It's always nice to hear that on-line friends both old and new, are about and appreciate my videos. 😊
👍
Thank you! I'm glad you made it to the end and gave me that thumbs up 🙂
I am glad I found your video. I was considering ordering this box after seeing the 70% off advertisement. After shipping, the full price is $58. I don’t think it is worth that much.
No, I think you're right. The things they put in the boxes don't seen to be any of the options that people chose and quite low quality with no instructions for things that need assembling/gluing/might actually be of some use (like the tulip lamp kit). It's a shame, because they could be doing so much better.
So glad I found this video before I ordered! Thank you I rather buy 20.00 worth of stuff I would rather use.
Definitely!
I got the exact same stuff and didn't pick any of that stuff as a choice. And there are no instructions for the lamp thing
I don't think they ever got back to me regarding if the battery for it was even available in the UK (as I asked them). It's a shame the things they choose aren't what anyone asks for is it? I understand how curated boxes work (as I subscribe to a few each month from different companies) and I think where they are falling so wrong is asking people what they're interests are right at the start, because that gears us up for a crafting box of things we're interested in...then it all goes down the pan when we get boxes of stuff we have no interest in whatsoever. Now if they asked people a few months in to get ideas for future boxes, I think that would work much better for them and their customers.
This is never easy.🥺 Losing a dear pet is a true loss. To be trusted, to be loved by an animal is such an honor and a blessing. It may be something people say we “have to accept,” but that doesn’t make the loss any less painful. You gave Louis a beautiful life and that meant the world to him. He’s watching over you now, from afar🥹💕 Please be well and remember, it’s okay to grieve a pet, it’s a way to find peace. My thoughts are with you. Be well🌈⭐️
Thank you for your lovely words. You're right, it's never easy, even if they were only with us for a short time, we still love them and they still love us. I'm getting there - we're getting there (Louis' passing affected my other half too as he spent a lot of time upstairs with Ian while he worked, squeezing himself into places he shouldn't and keeping Ian on his toes). I don't know if we'll "get" another cat. The Feline Distribution System may deem itself fit to grace us with one of these wonderful little beings again in the future and if that's the case, so be it. I've said for years though that if we physically "get" more, I would like to offer a home to two from the same home that are older and can't be separated, that may be FIV+ and need to be kept indoors and that get overlooked at the shelter (we have a cat shelter in Sheffield, as well as Cat's Protection) because of their age, the fact they need to be kept together and indoors and the fact that they have FIV. FIV doesn't need to be a life-limiting condition and can be treated symptomatically - it isn't the death sentence it used to be years ago (and isn't transmittable to humans).
what a haul!
Very sorry about this. All livings are temporary, we have to remember it and accept it, always. It's nature.
So sorry for your loss of Louis 😢 and thank you for sharing about his life.
I also ordered this box which I'm very disappointed with. I won't be ordering from them again .
It's a shame really, because I expected better. I'll be making an update video soon, but I don't think I'll be getting a full price one either - it's far too expensive for what is sent.
I ordered this in May, can you guess what I got "hand selected" for me? The exact same stuff. I feel totally ripped off! I asked for a refund, and it was basically, tough luck. This is a scam! Since when is a jigsaw a craft? It's a hobby in itself. Diamond art stickers, really? Are the diamonds going to come off when you use the stickers? Then that "light", that is the most useless light ever. You need a glue gun to make it, and a watch battery, but they don't tell you which one. Adding in the glue gun would make it nearer the value we paid. Full price they have to be joking! Spending £10 in pound land, I would get far better craft items, couple types of pen sets and colouring book, 3for2 wool balls and knitting needles and crochet hook. Some blank cards, stickers and embellishments.
I ordered my first box for June, and they hand-picked the exact same rubbish for me. I gave them a second chance. The next box was more of the same rubbish.
@@dawnmassey3836 I emailed them a few days ago to say I wanted to cancel (and mentioned the kipper-fragranced jigsaw). Not really much cop are they?
@@clairegraham6539 , definitely! It does honestly seem that they don't have any real idea what crafting and crafts are all about.
😸
Thank you for this nice video! This catladybox is cool!
And thank you for your lovely comment, Vincent! I really do appreciate it. 🙂
Great content!
Thank you, I'm really pleased that you like it. 🙂👍
Another lovely video!
Thankyou! I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😊
Great unboxing! Hope you enjoy making something with these supplies 😍 We like your Fire and Ice piece looks like you had fun making it and thats the whole point of creating ❤
Thank you, I did indeed! And yes, I'm loving the supplies in the March box very much - they're very versatile. 🙂👍
I made a 30 day advent calendar with much better items: jewelry, hair accessories, 1 perfume, spa produts, 1 small purse, 1 coin purse and much much more, for a smaller price compared to the one sold by this company. It's very pricey for just hair accessories. It's a rip off in my opinion.
Thank you for your comment, Carla, I appreciate you leaving it. I did buy it to try and yes, it is fairly expensive for what it is, but it wasn't all hair accessories, just mostly. Plus, I'll be able to put them all to good use as I use scrunchies, pony bands and other things to tie my hair back nearly all the time. Have you thought about making a video about the calendar you put together? I think that might be an interesting topic, if it's something you fancied doing? Have a great weekend. 🙂👍
Love the video and the positive messages in it. Great content. If you cough, you might consider my comment posted on your "Rona" last year's video.
I'll see if YT will let me look at your comment from last year. For some reason, they hide comments if I don't get to them fast enough - I've missed a fair few because of it - but I'll see if I can see it. The cough is much better now as well, thankfully! 🙂
Happy birthday super late! Covid is fine to get, so how your body gets to know it. Yes the vaccinations helped. When sick, I use the mix 'ginger','bay leaves','cloves', to which I add honey once the mixture is cold.
And a super late thanks for the wishes! I'll make a note of your pick-me-up and use it when I next catch the galloping grots! 😁
Happy birthday, a little late. Was busy last week.
Aw, thank you! I was meant to be working but the snow meant all our public transport was taken off, plus I still had that silly cough at that point.
This video made my day a happier day! I just love it - except the outdated 20% off. :)
Aww, thanks! Yeah, I was a bit disappointed in that too.
Love the video. Please keep up!
Thank you, I'll do my best! 😊
Hello mate! I know you enjoy true crime documentaries, and I just shared my latest real crime documentary video. Don't pass it without checking! Your thoughts mean a lot to me, so I'm waiting for your feedback. Take care, and thanks in advance for your support!
Hi there! It's late as I'm typing this (02.12, to be precise), so I'll have a watch after a bit of sleep and I'll definitely give you some feedback too. Thanks for the heads up! 🙂👍
Happy new year, Jean!
Happy New Year to you too! 🥳
A little late, sorry, but here it is: Merry Christmas!
Aww, thanks Vincent! Sorry I've only just seen your comment. I hope you and yours had a good one and also, happy New Year to you. 🙂
Its such a shame they have to stop doing them I loved getting the papergang boxes.
Great video once again!
Thank you! I'm really glad you liked it and I appreciate you taking the time to reply as well. ❤️
Thank you for subscribing Jean 🙏 you have a lovely presence and look forward to seeing more of your videos
Thank you so much for your kind comment Leah. It's so good to hear when people enjoy my videos. ❤
Travelling for work sounds fun! I hope you have a nice weekend in Jersey. I am so far behind, I saw you had a few updates recently but I haven't had a chance to watch yet. 😊
Hello, yes it can be, but there's the down side too. Jersey was lovely and the weather was red hot all weekend (luckily we weren't there the week before or we'd have all ended up like drowned rats) - it was quite the change to have nice, warm nights. Unfortunately, because of a delay with the ferry going back to the mainland, there were a couple more hours added to our journey and after starting the homeward-bound leg at 09.30am I eventually got home a little after 06.00am yesterday morning. It is what it is though and nobody's fault, but there were a lot of very fed up people on the ferry (mostly not us by the looks of it) and you sort of become acclimatised to long hours travelling with the job. But we had some fantastic feedback from staff at the showground where the festival was held and I think we all really hope to be invited back next year. My fingers are already crossed! 🤞
This summer has been a weird on for weather, feel like it rained for most of it. Hope you have fun in Jersey :)
You're not wrong there! It's been such a mixed bag but fingers crossed we'll have lots of warm weather. I'm hoping for a few warm and dry days so we can get the back garden mown. Jersey was a lot of fun, thank you, even though I didn't really do much with the down time I had but sleep. If we're able to do it all again next year I'll try and get out with my colleagues, weather permitting. 😊
Great video again. Was a delight!
Aww, thanks Vincent! I'm so sorry I haven't replied sooner, but I've been all over with work. I'm home for a few months now though, so hopefully my comments won't be as late back to yourself and anyone else that comments too.
Scrawlr have now allowed non subscribers to purchase past boxes as Well!
They did used to let them, but that was changed a couple of months ago. At the moment sales of past boxes are only available to subscribers. Here's the text from their current FAQs: *Can I purchase a previous box? Unfortunately not! We have closed our shop to non-subscribers. To unlock past boxes, you will need to be subscribed.*
You may learn how to write with your right hand, I believe it's possible. Anyway, great video I watched twice!
Thank you for your kind comment Vincent. I'm glad you enjoyed it enough to watch twice!😊 I had to attempt to learn to write right-handedly when I was in Junior school. I fell off the top of a stack of hay bales (me and some friends had been helping the farmer to put his bales into stacks but decided to have a mess about after he'd gone. I climbed up one bale, fell off and landed awkwardly onto my left wrist. It was X-Rayed but luckily there were no fractures), I'd only really badly sprained it, so my class teacher said I had to learn to write right-handedly to keep up with the class - bearing in mind that was in the late 1970s so the teacher wasn't that bothered about the accident, just that I couldn't write properly, but my right-handed writing never got any better than drunk spider walking in circles over wet ink legible. It's probably psychologically part of the reason I want my left-handed writing to be the best I can make it. Funnily enough, a few people have said that I write very neatly "for a left-handed person"! 😂
What an absolutely lovely card! You did a tremendous job Jean! You are a great friend and I'm sure she will love it!
Aww, thank you! And you were right, my friend really loved it. The idea to make her a card instead of getting another shop-bought one came to me when she told me she still had the wedding invitation I'd sent to her in 1999, so I think it's safe to say she'll most likely be getting a hand-made card from me from now on. 😊
Your last kaleidoscope entry is really cool. It reminds me of a metal slinkie. ❤❤ edit: dislike!!!!!!you said the weather is nice outside. It is 114 degrees F aka 46 degrees C here. 😂😂🥵🥵
What a beautiful and thoughtful card. I'm sure your friend will be thrilled to bits! You are a lovely person Jean, your friends and family are lucky to know you. Keep crafting and look forward to your next video xx
Thank you so much for your lovely, thoughtful comment. She was delighted to receive my card, so as well as keeping on making one for her each year, I'm going to try and make more. This was only the second one I'd made, the first being a couple of years ago for another friend. 😊
Like like like like like it
Wow. I wish I was this person. For real. What a nice video to start the day!
Aww, thank you, Vincent! Have you got a birthday coming up or have you already got this year's one out of the way?
@@jeanproctor3663 Got it coming, on the 6th of August. :)
Well done Jean some lovely patterns.
Thank you so much! I don't always like my work (in fact, hardly ever if I'm honest because it never comes out as I "see" it in my head), so you comment really means a lot. 😊
Lovely video as always, Jean. I also quite enjoyed seeing what you created with the last box. I thought they were quite lovely. Great job!
Aw, thank you so much! Positive comments like yours make me want to try and have a go at doing more stuff. 😊
This is such a cute box! Do you have a pet cat/s? I have one, her name is Smudge 😀
Hi there! We have a "not our cat" - he originally lived with a family up the road until they had a baby and then he moved himself out. They got him from a rescue place originally, but his "Grandma" (his other people's Mum) said that he always preferred to be outdoors. He's spending a lot of time outside at the moment because we're having a spell of mostly good weather, but last Winter he stayed indoors here for most of the day, only going outside to go to the toilet (he won't use a litter tray). He's got a fluffy blanket here, as well as his cat food and flea/worm treatment subscriptions. His name is Louis and he very occasionally makes guest appearances in my videos.
Just liked a video that another new one comes to my screen! Let's go and like it.
Aw, thank you! I really do appreciate all the likes and comments - anything to boost my videos in the algorithms!
Another great video! Just clicked 'like'. At several points, we can hear birds in the background, and that pulls the video to another level of authenticity. Love it.
Thank you so much for your comment Vincent! When the weather's nice I will usually record with the window onto our back garden open. It's lovely to be able to hear the birds, as well as giving me a bit of fresh air (we get owls at night as well).
Jean, do you do a lot of arty stuff in your spare time ? From the type of things that catch your eye, I’d imagine you to be a journal/scrapbook kind of person, although you also seem quite literary based too. Just curious 😊 keep up the good work 👍
Hello Andy, I'm so sorry it's taken me this long to reply to your comment - totally my bad. It sort of depends on the amount of spare time I get because sometimes I have a lot of work-work on and I could be away from home (I sometimes travel for work). I used to do a bit of scrapbooking when I was younger, but now it's mainly the art that you see on my YT videos and sometimes spur of the moment stuff when I get hit by inspiration, also needlework I knit, which is something I've done right from being little, but it's only in the past few - maybe 10-15 - years that I've started to add things like cable patterns into my work. Sometimes I can zone out more with needlework than art so that can sometimes be more relaxing). As to the literary angle, you might've guessed from the bookcase next to me in my videos that I love reading too. I could probably fill a small library with the books in our house and the bookcase you see next to me has the books stacked in double rows on each shelf, as well as there being a bunch of books on the top too. We've got about four or five bookcases of varying size around the house and could still fill more! I'll try and keep up the good work! 😊👍
Jean, sorry for your loss - I always believe that despite the void a friend leaves behind, that person’s character always makes it through to the wake/funeral, and like you say, this includes humour also. Hope you found some peace in all this; good you feel able to mention it too, I always find your videos inspiring and humanistic for this reason. Keep up the good work, Jean 😊
Thank you Andy for your good wishes. It was a huge shock when I found out about my friend, but yes, I see what you mean about their character making it through afterwards. It felt important to mention because the people we meet, the people we interact with and develop relationships with throughout our lives are all important and we all gift each other a little something of our characters. I suppose you could say it's like making a huge quilt where everyone brings a bit of material to add to it that means something to them. The finished subject is the sum of its parts and each part is important. And it's nice to read that you find my videos inspiring too, thank you for letting me know this. I really appreciate that. 😊
I thought there was something different going on, and couldn't put my finger on it 😂 great vid as per Jean x
Jean is the Bob Ross of unboxing videos - always chill, always inspiring. Nice one Jean 😎
She is so chill, love watching her vids! I just meant her not wearing her glasses was the difference I couldn't work out at first 😂 x
@@jenniferbrown2446 I always feel inspired after watching Jean’s unboxings, I find organising my art supplies quite stressful, but it’s good to get another perspective on the products and creative stuff 😊
I'm glad you liked it Jennifer, thank you for commenting. Sorry it's taken a long time for me to reply to you as well.
Great video, which I watched in its entirety.
Thankyou for watching all my video, and I'm so pleased you enjoyed it.
Hi Jean. Hope you're keeping well. It's been an age since we've seen Louis. Hope he is enjoying a stress free kitty life and appreciates how fortunate he is to have a wonderful cat-Mom 😊
Hi Marvia! Yes, we're all good here thankyou. How is everyone at your side of the Pond? The weather has been really lovely and warm for about two weeks now, so he doesn't really come in very much because he loves to sunbathe. He did stay inside long enough to eat almost a full meal earlier today (it was his second breakfast) but he was still out of the door like a shot when he'd eaten enough. I think he appreciates the whole street rather than just us, because he gets so much love and everyone knows him. 😊
