Those do go together well, and look great with just a bit of paint detailing. Off to a great start with roughing it up! 😁 For dents, I generally just (carefully) hold it over a candle, just close enough to heat up tge plastic until it's bendable, then take something (a block of wood, ink pen, any number of things depending on the look you're after) and start mashing it in with it. I generally do that a few times rather than trying to do it all at once, be too easy to go unrealistically too far. Have fun, brother!! ✌️😁

The wheels and suspension etc. look to be in pretty good shape, i bet shes a mess on the inside though. Shame it's sitting there slowly rotting, should be restored into a runner. I get that it's a memorial/gate guardian etc. but it's still sad.
