So it's been quite a while since I uploaded anything, but we are back with a short one this time due to lost footage in the later part of the day. I had to move three forklifts to various sites, one of them being Lotus Cars! I hadn't ever used a step deck trailer (low-loader) or chains, so it was all new to me! #hgv driver #class 1 #hgv class 1 #artic #trucking vlogs #trucker Fancy a chat? Hit ...

I failed my first test because of a roundabout. A car entered from the opposite side with no indicators on so I started rolling and the twat decided he was going right, so I had blocked him.
Do truck drivers have time to go gym 5 or six times a week ?
Dead end job for failures.
25:10 i noticed you didnt stop and get out of the truck to see if its level with the trailer. In other videos they say you need to stop and get out to see if the 5 wheel is level.
Yeah usually that's good practice, and on my test I did check. Nowadays with more experience you get an eye for whether the trailer is sat low or not so I wouldn't usually check. Good spot though bud ;)
Just been out driving for the first time today, learning in Class 2. 4 hours. Wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. Passed my reversing today and Cpc mod 4. Day driving next week, then test. Thanks for the info. Good to know this stuff.
Any new road 🛣️ videos coming soon Adam and I have passed my ADR course on class two.
As an agency driver what happens when you turn up to a job ? Do they just throw some keys and paper work at you , and that’s it ? Or do they check your licence and spend abit of time with you going through things ?
Usually the license stuff and all that is done by the agency so generally they will just hand you the keys and paperwork. Most places will go through things though about the drops/job/route and tell you who to call if you have any issues.
I would never work for Amazon as they are notorious for thaking on employees to work on zero hour contracts, and what I know of zero hour contracts is you don't get payed the same way as you would on any PAYE job in fact I know a few people who walked out on Amazon because of the zero hour pay structure that amazon payes to its employees - and that is no way to make a living....
How hard is the test guys?
Thank you 👍👍
Thank you 👍👍
Thank you 👍👍
Thank you 👍👍
How do I sign up for agencies can you pls help?
On class 2 doing 2-4 nights tramping its ok but cab size is a issue rather class1 but cant get a job in that so stuck on class 2 for now.
driver hire... told me to send them my cv, never got back to me.. bunch of cunts.
I signed up with a agency today. He said next week ill probably be delivering building supplies. Im brand new and bricking it. Lol. Got any advise?
Take your time and if you're not sure on something, however small, ask them. Also if you're not sure when reversing, get out and look, don't chance it. Enjoy it mate! 👍
Hang on! Youve passed your class2 and they didnt show you how to use a tacho in training? Wtf do you do for 16 weeks?
Haha no
Looks like a trucker sounds like a computer nerd 😂
I'm sorry I didn't reach your unrealistically high standard, but you are actually right, I used to work in IT so I'll take that as a compliment! 😉 I'm assuming you think all truckers to be thick as shit, overweight, burger van loving, arrogant stereotypes who can't actually have an IQ higher than a orange? 🤣
@@TruckLoadz no expectations just an observation. I'm not having a go. I just find it slightly comical don't feel offended or owt 🙄 if you was my mate I would take the piss regularly 😂😂 oh and IQ tests are only good at identifying people who are good at IQ tests nothing to do with overall intelligence. you would probly make more money in IT and have a better social life with better hours...why you decided to drive trucks is beyond me
Had lots of people tell me I was mad to move away from IT, but at least now I am out and about and stuff.
@@TruckLoadz do you have a bird and at least a few mates?
@bigd-oj4xi yes I am married
thet my dad
how did you go about applying for your taco card, is there a website you need to go to once youve passed the cpc part?
Yeah just go onto google and type in apply for digital tachograph card and you'll have a form to fill in. Costs about 40 quid to get one. Good luck dude
Hi just watched a couple of your videos from when you first started. I passed my class 2 three weeks ago just signed up with driver hire as I am struggling to find work as a new driver. I’m worried about the tacho machine. Did the first company help you out with that or did you just learn your self? Great channel by the way. Noticed you ain’t uploaded for a while. Hope alls ok
Hey Steve thanks for the comment dude and glad you like the videos. Most companies won't go out of their way to teach you about the tacho, but if you ask they will likely give you a crash course. If you have any questions about it I'd be happy to answer them. I've not uploaded any videos is mostly due to time and also because most of my runs are pretty much the same. Doesn't make very good content if it's mostly all the same. Thoughts?
How much does it cost for a re test
I think it was around 300 quid for a retest. The test fee is 110 I think plus usually 2 hours of training. Whens your test dude?
Wow I live very close to the roads you were driving on, on your way to work. Knew I recognised the slip-road from your intro!
That the sliproad near gapton?
@TruckLoadz yep that's the one, on the road eventually leading to JPH
I've got my medical on Thursday and will be applying for my class 2 as soon as I get the thumbs up from the doctor. I'm based in Caister. Any recommendations for a newbie?! 👀
For training schools, EaatCoast Driver Training in Norwich were brilliant with my class 1. Highly tecommend them. If you need any advice or have any questions hit me up on Facebook ;)
I looked at Martin's Driver Training also in Norwich but they were at full capacity until mid April. Been getting high 90s and 100s on the theories so pretty confident there! Do you know what sort of timescale it is for the theory and cpc test by any chance?
I’m currently going through my class 2 driving course. On the theory at the moment. Will be hopefully looking for my first class 2 job in a few months.
Good luck with it mate! 👍
Happy new year 🎉 Adam and thanks again for your videos in 2022.
Great advice. Thanks
Thanks for the info. Much appreciated 👊🏻
No worries, glad I could help 👍
Do you get covered in coal dust? I wouldn’t mind the lifting but not keen on having coal dust all over me or breathing it in, cheers
When I worked there i did lol
Congratulations 🥳
Thanks!
Hello where did you do your test? Same place where did you do your training ?
I did the class 1 test at the dvsa test centre, which is about 2 miles from the training centre.
Just finished day 2 of my 20 hours for class 1, I think I'm going to have to wear a nappy for test day 🤮
Haha you'll be fine mate. Get a good sleep, have a good breakfast and keep yourself calm and alert. Don't take any risks and make good progress. Read the road ahead and use the room if you need to. Good luck buddy!
Good to see you back on the road Adam ! Keep on trucking
Thanks mate, more vids to come!
Got my mod 3 on 7 th ov nov class 2 cant wait !!
Ohh nice enjoy it mate and good luck! 👍
When do u apply for your digi cards is it when u pass your test or could i do that now ?
If you mean your tachograph card you can apply now for it. No need to wait until you pass and I would recommend getting it beforehand or you can drive :)
@@TruckLoadz where do you get the forms from? and how much is it ?
The forms you can find on gov.uk and when I ordered mine a couple if years ago it was around 30 quid
Do you prefer class 2 or class 1?
Class 1 hand down, but a day on class 2 is usually easy and chill 👍
@@TruckLoadz what are your shifts like?
Do you mean like hours or type of deliveries ect..?
@@TruckLoadz hours per day?
Usually start at 6am and finish anywhere between 4pm and 6pm. I normally go out as far as Peterborough, Boston, Wisbech, March ect...
Still enjoying it mate ?
Yes mate really good now that's I'm with Fitz again. I'm able to enjoy the job again which is good :)
You not doing class one work ?
Yeah I'm doing class 1 work but mostly been on the class 2 as no point in sending a whacking great artic down to Peterborough with 7 pallets 😂 I'm recording some artic stuff so bare with me while I edit and sort it all out - it is coming!

Hey mate yeah it's deffo been a while. Glad to see your enjoying the job mate, makes all the difference if you find a good job. Breakdown sounds like it could be fun but I'd hate the hours lol I'm now working for Fitz Maurice in Norwich as a class 1 driver. Hope to have a new video out in the next couple of days 👍
i havent drove a hgv for a while but done many years in the past, if ever i got something like paint to transport i would make it a flat top even if i had to open the top of the wrap of the pallet and put a few cans on the floor wrapped together to stop them rolling around. I would then get a sturdy empty pallet to go on top of the paint pallet and strap over that to get down pressure evenly across the top of the pallet. if i could not do this i would refuse to take the pallet as its not a safe load in my opinion. had to do same method on lots of things like ceramic flower pots, bottles of beer, wine etc. a few extra minutes strapping can save you a lot of time and headache should the pallet wrap fail on you.
Just to add ive had far worse happen to me 😁......in my early years i was given a pump truck that for some reason to let the pallet down could only be done by using my foot to press down on something near the bottom of the pump truck (i think it was broken and that was the only way it would work or was just how it worked, it was very old) i had paint to deliver and the road was on a hill. as i got the pallet to the back of the truck towards the tail lift it started running away for me as was to heavy, i couldnt get my foot to release the pallet down as it was going to fast and the pallet went flying off the back with pump truck still in between the slats🤦 i was lucky in a way as had it gone slightly further when it flipped over another 50cm roughly was a parked car and the pump truck wouldve caused it major damage.
Yeah I was still relatively new to it all by then, and since had a few other things go over but not as much as it could have. Also pulled a fully frieghted artic with 26 pallets of wine with no issues lol

Lovely Norwich roundabouts 😅😅 done my test 28/07/2022 Class 2 , 4 minors ( undo hesitation and correct speed) test was about 11 , quiet busy , my nightmare .
Well done mate, pass is a pass! Much more used to roundabouts now but still tricky when fully freighted
Hi congrats You passed in Ipswich or Kings Lynn.
Thanks! Passed in Kings Lynn :)

Totally agree with this, there should be some discretion about this exact thing happening, sometimes it's impossible not to just take a gap and go without cutting someone up!
Yes mate that's very true! :)
