Odd. NONE of my Schuyler bibles smell nice. They basically have no smell at all. Like when they dyed the leather it killed the smell. Very disappointing.

I had a black 53c but found it to thick to carry around. I am going to get a standard 53. I am on the fence between the blue or the black. Any opinions.?

I really appreciated how you went into such detail as to all that this Bible has to offer. I have had mine for about 6 months and didn't even noticed some of the features that this Bible has. Thanks to your review I am going to get much more out of this Bible than I realized.

Thanks for the review. I also have a 53 and just noticed in John 3 that the page heading at top says “ Christ purgeth the temple”. Does you copy say that as well. John 3 has nothing to do with Christ purging the temple.

I have this exact Bible except mine is red. This is by far the nicest Bible I have ever seen or bought. And being a pastor from some 30 plus years, I have had many, many Bibles. This one is the Rolls Royce of Bibles. Its a pleasure to look at, read, and hold in the hand. I look forward each day reading and studying from this Bible. If you like the King James Version, you will not be sorry you bought this. Expensive? Well, yes. But this Bible will last a life-time (and maybe your children's children). This would be a great legacy Bible to pass on after you are gone and enjoying heaven.

I think this is my favorite size of bible , my regular size is just to heavy and never sees use. Its very pretty but just doesnt really grab me as much as I thought it would.

I like the black more than my brown but its still beautiful.

I have had mine for 3 months, it being my first Allen's bible, and I love it. You told me the word for the paragraph markers: pilcrow. Thanks! As soon as I received my 53 I saw what a supremely beautifully made bible Allen's produce, so immediately bought the navy blue Brevier Clarendon because I wanted to have a small, portable one as well as the full sized bible. They're gorgeous bibles! I have briefly reviewed both bibles myself but do not go to the same extent of detail that you do, so watching yours after the fact was nice :-)

The imperfections are giving me shakes :/

The Cambridge Turquoise is hands down my favorite Bible. The font size is a blessing to my 50+ year old eyes. I know that this is a re-print from the printing plate era, and not a digital print. Perhaps that is why the font came out as bold as it is. Whatever the reason, it makes for the most readable 11-pt. font KJV Bible on the market.

The smell test :)

This Personal Size Canterbury is in many respects similar to KJV Cambridge Cameo. When teaching and preaching, I prefer a much larger text, but when I am at my cluttered study desk, a hand-sized Bible makes perfect sense to me. The small format is also great for quick-draw checks on cross references. Thanks for a great review, brother Chase. I'll be subscribing!

My apologies in advance for being a fly in the ointment. While this is a pivotal moment for Schuyler/Evangelical Bible, as R L Allan does not yet have a red letter edition full yap premium Bible, Schuyler/Evangelical Bible could have done this so much better; had they just paid a bit more careful attention to the pleating of the corners, the consistency in their stitching, and the symmetry of their gilt line. I don't think that's too much to ask for considering how much money they charge you. And, to be fair to Schuyler/Evangelical Bible, I did recently order and receive a fire brick red goatskin Treveris, which I absolutely love! However, you can request having them inspect your purchased Bible prior to shipping, which I did. And I wasn't disappointed this time. As the consumer we have the right to be picky when it comes to a major purchase such as this.
