I’m worried about retirement planning and I want to ensure a comfortable future. I’ve worked hard my entire life and I want to enjoy the fruits of my labor without financial stress. I’m really concerned about whether I’ve saved enough and invested wisely.

I’ve been diagnosed with Tourette syndrome at age 5. I’m now 54. Tics are getting much worse since I went through menopause. Vocal tics are a big issue while I was working. Difficult to speak on phone or talk with people. I’ve worked with special needs children for about 30 years. There are no medications that help control my tics. I’ve been on different kinds of anxiety medication and nothing is helping. Currently on anxiety meds, and I would like to stop it. Do I try to file for long term disability or SSI benefits/insurance? Help !

Hi David, I have been approved for CPPD for about 5 years now. I have a cryptocurrency investment that didn’t do anything for about 7 years, but the price exploded up this year and now I’m stuck with a lot of capital gains (unrealized $200k+)… I take care of my own financial investments and spend a 2-3 hours per week on this. I really appreciate your videos as CPP Disability does not seem to be a “transparent” system at all. It seems to be made deliberately mysterious by the government. Sort of like OHIP - we contribute to OHIP through our taxes but lack of transparency about where all this tax money going. Anyway, thank you for the demystification.

Can a retroactive payment from Wcb Alberta effect CPP disability? Example: 29 thousand dollars one time payment and you are receiving CPP disability every month. This person is 53 years old now and has had 2 very aggressive lower back surgeries, very slow and chronic pain. Wcb is not considered capital gains correct?

I applied for CPP-D in 2010 but was denied due to not being permanant but I applied this time and was automatically accepted I have reports from 1993 showing the progression of my illness and have had a dtc since 1985. my payment is 789 due to me being offf on medicall leave since 2019 and they have my disability starting in 2023 they think the covid benifits I received were employment earningss

I have been approved for long term disability but they only approved me for 2.5 % for pain and suffering and 4.9%. L5 lumbar . Only $204 ish a month . But I told them I have anxiety and this all has made it worse and major depression. I’m 60 can I get Cpp disability?

My understanding is that if you have a pension, the insurance company will also make you apply for CPP and medical retirement pension. When those two things are combined, some people may effectively get nothing from the insurance company.

Thanks first and foremost, there is a lot that rings clear to me in this video and that I relate to. Yes it is certainly a journey and I was just talking to a friend about my situation and she made the same comment which i understood but at the same time i actually really didnt see the magnitude. I have had to fight my whole, its always just been the way and I am not laying down. I really hope that magic pill or procedure gets developed.
