Fourth Gen Toyota 4Runner Rear Hatch Light Installation
I apologize for the length of this video. Unfortunately, when Toyota designed the 4th gen 4Runner they did away with the convenient bladed electrical terminals that came on the third generation 4Runner's dome lamps. So without a more detailed instructional I was worried some of you would get lost if I just left it at "plug into the dome lamp circuit."
Depending on the strength of the adhesive that comes with the LEDs you select, the clear plastic clamps may not be needed.
The hole for the switch is easy to cut, I covered the top of my rear plastic cover with a piece of blue painters tape, placed my switch on it's side and marked the length of the switch with a pen, then marked the width. I drilled out the corners of the hole with a 1/16th bit and then cut the sides with a dremel. Removing any excess material with a razor blade style skill knife and side cutters. Alternatively you can install your lights and see if they come on when you open your vehicle, which is why I installed the switch (every time I unlocked and opened my 4Runner they would come on), if they don't and they only come on when you need them then don't install the switch.
This is a handy little mod and easy to install. I hope you enjoy it and find is as useful as I have.

OPT7 Sequential Running Board light install on a 4th generation Toyota 4Runner
Переглядів 3735 місяців тому
This is the best method to install the OPT7 Sequential Running Board lights on a 4th generation (2008) Toyota 4Runner. Step 1: Remove your factory running boards, clean out the lip on the top side of the plastic part of the running board, clean the plastic with denatured alcohol or acetone, apply the provided adhesive booster and then the OPT7 lights. Reinstall the running boards. Step 2: Remov...
Virginia DEQ has declared this "Not a serious dump site"
Переглядів 2343 роки тому
In this short video I recorded a 300 yard long section of this stream bed, bank and ravine. This is a site that I reported to the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality as a hazardous dump site for private individuals and tires. The DEQ "found" fewer than 25 tires so they have declared it not an issue. You be the judge. Regardless of what the DEQ has decided I will now be cleaning up this...

Illegal Tire Dump part 3

In total over 70 tires were removed from this ravine, unfortunately I had to leave some that are just to far down the mountain to retrieve with the equipment I currently have. Snow Melt Brown Trout

Recently the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries stocked some streams in Western VA. So on the day of New Years Eve I decided to go see if I could tangle with any of the trout they had released. The water temps were in the low 40s to upper 30s due to snow melt which made the fishing very slow. I ended up sight fishing almost all the fish I caught, you literally had to hit them in t...

This has been something I have thought about doing for quite some time. For the longest time I didn't want to do it because I felt it was selfish of me to want to put myself out there in this manner. But now I realize how badly this is needed. We need to see this, we need to be aware of what is happening in our shared National Forest spaces. 🤣😂😂🤣🤣 you are 110% correct. That's why I keep building and learning with every build. You only get better with practice, patience, and criticism. As for my recording skills, this was shot and edited on a cell phone, and not a very good one. Despite that my video creating skills are far worse than my rod building skills but with practice, effort and humility I may get better.
