    My carbon filter came very dirty, covered in black powder. It got all over my hands and table when taking out of the package. I'm thinking this thing is used? Have you ever heard of this?

    I put my filter outside the tent with the fan inside pushing air out a duct INTO the filter. Is that wrong?

      @@DoingtheDeal it just made me think that the air is filtered before going into the fan. If i got the filter outside then there's a chance a buildup could occur over the long run if the fan is pulling unfilteredair. Maybe i'm just thinking too much about it. I'll leave it as is, thank you for your response!

    • @DoingtheDeal

      I think a lot of it may depend on your space requirements as well as what your goal is. I’ve got two blowers going. One pulls air through the filter and out of the grow tent. This one is used to help regulate temperature and humidity. The second. Sits on the floor of my tent. It pushes air through the filter and back into the tent. Might be over kill but it does well on any smells. I hope this better helps answer your previous question. I apologize for my original lace luster rely.

      @@DoingtheDeal its my first grow setup so i'm excited to start some seedlings. I have an outdoor harvest inside currently drying but having a hard time eliminating odors, maybe if i turn up the pump to cause a vaccuum. Any tips on that? Thank you so much for your responses, they really help!

      @@isaiasanchez1987 I was having some issues with smell as well but not while drying. That is when I added the second blower. Originally I had it in the room outside of the tent to filter that air. Worked ok but had to have it full blast. Decided to move it into the tent to work with the other blower. Seems to be doing well on the smell. I plan to run it as is for drying as well. So not sure on that. Definitely worth a try to up the blower speed.

    Little late to your video. I skipped using the included res and used 32 gallon garbage cans. I decided to finally try a res. I don't use an air stone, I use a second pump with a foot of hose to stir the res for 30 minutes before each watering. I have a similar water setup in my house as well since I am on a well also. I have a dedicated RO system for my garden. It feeds into another 32 gallon garbage can (plastic) with a float valve to turn it off when full. Weekly I drain the res and swap water from the collection to the res and redo my nutrients. I top off as needed during the week.

    Try with good living soil and figure out how much feeding the plants need then switch to pebbles or airoponics.. It's much more forgiving to mix a nice soft soil mix (You can use pebbles in there too) and when the plants are bigger you could transplant to the coco or pebble medium.. Also, have you tried using coco in these pots? This bottom feed system needs a wick like medium so it can suck up the water through the medium.. Pebbles are awesome but they need a drip system too, because they are too far appart too suck water to the top.. You can just add drippers and a submersible pump that drips from the top.. I would start the plants in nice soil then transplant in coco in your bottom feed pots (Without the drippers on the coco) and i would add a humidifier in the tent, to keep the moisture up, since you aren't focusing on flowers in veg phase plants love moisture. And i would lower the LED's.. That must be poor intensity at the plant height.. The fans are unfortinetly crap, all the smaller clip on fans are ment to be switched on for maximum 12hrs/day thats why they fry in a year or so (if they are on constantly). I use a big camping ceeling fan about 60cm diameter hang it above the LED, so it cools the LED and blows warm air on the plants (It's harder to warm up a tent with LED), Or a big tower fan in the back.. Bigger=better with the fans (Low noise, big airflow and they run cool/longer life) Great work man, keep on growing.. Maybe try potatoes in the pebbles next, easy to dig out 😀

    • @DoingtheDeal
      @DoingtheDeal 3 місяці тому

      You’re awesome. Thank you so much for all the information. I definitely want to try a different grow medium. So I will definitely look into giving that a try. Makes sense with the pebbles and a top drip. I stared there as it was something I’ve tried before. Not shocked the fans are giving up on me. Definitely like the idea of a big tower fan. Again. Thank you for all the advice. It is greatly appreciated.

    Hey man, i ask myself how to put one or 2 automodes online? Is it on if the "Low Humid" blinks for example? And how can i reset the modes and lock them in? Appreciate your Videos ❤ Greetings from Germany 🫶

    • @DoingtheDeal
      @DoingtheDeal 3 місяці тому

      Great questions. When it is blinking it is running the automatic mode. If will will run until it falls back into the range you have selected. To set the modes cycle to the settings you want. (Low humidity or high temperature for example). Once on the setting use the up or down to set the desired temp/humd. From they they should be locked in. Cycle back to auto mode. Should be all set from there. I hope this helps. Let me know if you have any other questions.

      Thank you for watching. Great question. With the aquaponics it got me outside much more. Which was nice. The whole thing with it all being a loving ecosystem was fantastic to explore and benefit from. But at the same time with so many moving pieces it required so much more time. The hydroponics system is also great. Far less time outside. Outside of the first setup it can take only a few minutes to check the water and the plants. So once going it has been rather easy to maintain. The change gong of crops is far more involved as things will all need to be cleaned. I have definitely enjoyed both ways of growing. I do grow microgreens and lettuce but also want a light that will allow good fruiting; not just veg. Do you have one you recommend? I have a kind of old school one laid on its side right now and will hang that from a rack. It works well but gives off purple light which I'm not really fond of, and I wold like to hang a light on each shelf to allow for more vertical space.

      Thank you for watching and thank you for the comment. A bakers rack is definitely the way to go. I was able to get some peppers to fruit under these light. But I must admit it was by accident. If I was going to buy some different lights I would go with some high output T5 or T8 to fit the grow space. What kind of micro greens are you growing. They are one of my favorite things to grow. Would love to see what you end up setting up.

    • @DoingtheDeal
      @DoingtheDeal 9 місяців тому

      Thank you for the question. The system has been great overall. Biggest issue I have is with the reservoir. The spigot at the bottom leaked a little bit. I was able to get it stopped. Have not had issues since. Other than that. A little bit of root build up at the bottom of the tubs causing water flow issues. Really more of a maintenance thing though.

    Airprunnings good, are u using liquid organics or sythetic nutes and if so are u flushing b4 u harvest at all? Looking great btw! I think ebb n flow's the best method of hydro imo. I run a 8 pot current culture rdwc system and it ain't as frindly on the electic bill as ebb n flow!

    • @DoingtheDeal
      @DoingtheDeal 9 місяців тому

      Thank you for watching and thank you for the comment. Right now we are using synthetic nutrients . I would love to get away from that but not sure where to start. As far as flushing. I'll do a half reservoir change once every couple weeks. I'll run it like that for a few days before I add the nutrients. I have not yet done a full water change. I enjoy the ebb n flow as well. It has been rather user friendly thus far.

      @@DoingtheDeal Nice, I use sythectic's as well. I run Athena's line wich is awesome just make sure u flush for at least a week b4 el chop'o. You don't want to eat ur sythectic's. Instead of add'n nutes for a week run water only and or u can add a flush cleaning agent to help flush and clean ur pluming at the same time. I just use water cause I run h2o2 through it anyways. I use r.o. water, so it doesn't take 2 weeks 1 is good. Then u'll know ur veggies are clean as can be by testing the res water at the end of ur flush'n week ur ppm's should be almost non existent. There's quite a few liquid organic nute lines out there, look up Nectar of the gods or Foop, their nute lines are resivor and pluming friendly.

      @@DoingtheDeal Abosolutle right. If your using hydroton, u gott'a feed at least every hour or so. With soiless coco, it's like you would hand feed, once every day or two, or more depending on this size of ur plants uptake.

      It will absolutely affect the roots - whether or not it’ll be to the extent that it will harm your grow has a lot to do with a number of other factors. The reality is DO drops off rapidly above 69 degrees. Anything over 72 is begging for trouble. Ideal solution temp for hydroponics is 65-69 degrees.
