    Hi I have a titan mount field stiga ride on and the battery seems to be flat? Can I charge it with a normal small trickle charger or do I need the actual stiga charger that clips in on the side of the battery deck

      Hi, hand brake is the same for most stiga models. Push down the break pedal, then with the foot down on the pedal, push down the hand brake lever. With the hand lever pressed down, release the foot pedal. To underdo the hand brake just hit the foot pedal and it will spring up. Hope that helps.

      Hi, the parking brake is really designed to allow you to leave the mower on more of a slope when it's not running or being transported. All newer ride on mowers don't allow you to get off the seat without it cutting out when it's running - Parking brake on or not

    I own the 1530H and have kept it regularly serviced. Nevertheless, the cutting / driving functions can break down on you at unexpected times. Quite common to have belts slip or break. Just spent two days (on and off, between other jobs) replacing the drive belt on mine (for the second time). My other quibble is the cutting height isn’t really high enough, even at the highest setting, and when driving with the cutters disengaged you have to be really careful if you go over any large-ish bumps as the cutters can grind against a surface. At the highest setting, the cutters struggle if the grass is more than moderately long, and it can end up straining the belt unless you slow to a crawl. I think that’s real design flaw and at times, I have to use my powered Mountfield walk-behind mower first, to get the grass to a level that the 1530H can cut. The engine seems very reliable, but I’ve been through two batteries now, and always leave it externally charging because even after an hour or two of running, I don’t think it charges adequately. I use a little fold out 12v solar panel just to keep the thing topped up and that works really well. I’ve not owned any other ride-on mower, but hope you might appreciate this honest experience from several years of owning this one.

      @brucklaygarageltd2832 Рік тому

      Hi Mark, Thanks for the comment. Have you discussed the issue with your nearest dealer? If the belt keeps slipping there may be an issue with the pulley alignment, perhaps worth getting it checked. We often use Kevlar belts too for extra strength. I can't say we've had issues with people saying the highest cut is too low or hitting the ground, has it always been like that or getting worse?

    • @MarkHarmer
      @MarkHarmer Рік тому

      @@brucklaygarageltd2832 that’s a good idea - will get that checked next time at service - the pulley alignment. Kevlar belt sounds sensible, given the job of getting the thing on! That makes huge sense to go for a better quality belt - great suggestion. No, it is always too low I feel. Mine is the 1530 H bought I think in 2013. So it’s not the very newest one - and maybe they have improved things? Thanks also for replying, because I didn’t buy it from you, I was just busy searching while I had it dismantled, to see if I could find any more info about it.

    • @brucklaygarageltd2832
      @brucklaygarageltd2832 Рік тому

    Thanks for the video . I have to use both hands and a lot of strength to engage the cutter. The lever on the left of the steering is really hard to pull down into position to engage. Any ideas why? Also is there a way to disengage the cut out when i get off the seat to empty the grass box?

    • @brucklaygarageltd2832
      @brucklaygarageltd2832 Рік тому

      There is no easy way of telling why it is so stiff when you're trying to but the deck on, I am afraid. There can be multiple reasons, including pulleys, spring tension etc. Have a look around the area when the machine is off and see if there is anything jammed or more seized than normal. I am afraid all models now cut out when you get off, I know it's annoying but it seems to be a standard safety feature. Sorry, we can't be of more help!

    First, thanks for this great resource and for continuing to respond to questions so long after the video. Second, may I ask how I access the cutting deck engagement area? Is it by removing the cutting deck? When I try to engage the cutting mechanism nothing happens. The cable is slack but not broken and the arm which it pulls above the deck moves but there’s no resistance. I suspect I have snapped a band or disconnected a band from a pulley or something similar. Does it tell you how to remove the deck/cover in the manual? Thanks 🙏

    • @brucklaygarageltd2832
      @brucklaygarageltd2832 Рік тому

      Hi, To get into that area you usually need to remove the cutting deck guards and often the chute at the back for the grass - it then lets you see a lot more. If you suspect it is the blade engagement cable then there are guides for replacement. There are plenty online - if you search for workshop manual 827H Mountfield, you'll find one quickly. It gives you a step by step guide. I can't say it something I have done often so can't remember the full ins and outs of it - sorry can't be of more help.

By putting the screw into the deflector cap hole - it stops the whole plug springing back when removed from the mower and makes it easier to fit.

    Terrible company Terrible company! I’m just going to be proceeding with legal action against them and will be doing honest but very negative reviews of their company on every platform possible! On every review site and every media site such as UA-cam! The lawnmower I had that was very expensive: Stiga Combi 55SQ DAE 46cm Cordless 48V Lawnmower. It didn’t work correctly from the start and then when it finally gave up the ghost and was still in warranty we were told to take it to their authorised repair shop that kept us waiting months and then went into administration after telling us they were waiting for parts that were faulty from the beginning! We’ve Emailed Stiga, phoned and been told by two different people they would call back and they’ve not! They’ve not responded to an email either! Today we’ve been told by someone that they don’t believe it’s their responsibility! It is as they told us where to take it and that company has gone into administration and the lawnmower, 4 batteries and duel charger has gone missing or is in the shop!! We’ve read that it’s their responsibility and so know we will win when we take it to court and get the ombudsman involved. We’ve been told today that a manager will ring us back, heard this too many times now! The terribly expensive product and with accessories to buy now in a sale will be £1099! We’ve also paid out over £200 on having a gardener come in and strim grass and then mow it because we had no lawnmower, this was last year!! If we don’t hear back very soon we will be taking legal action! Buy from Sthl where you get great service and great products! The whole family are going to be doing honest reviews like this on every platform if it’s not sorted very soon!! We will make sure they lose more than we’ve lost!! We are a very large family! They will soon see this shared and circulating on Facebook, with all our family and friends sharing it will achieve massive momentum that’s if this is not sorted and then followed by, as I’ve already said, negative reviews on every media platform and review site! Well done Stiga!! You’re very rude with your lack of response after promises and very ignorant of the law! You will regret it! Update: A manager called today and was more helpful but no conclusion and they’re trying to wriggle out of responsibility when in fact it is their responsibility. We will hold off of sharing on all available social media for a little longer. In answer to their response below: 1. You call it an independent dealer however you told us to take our faulty lawnmower there and this company is representing you and unbelievably is still being shown as one of your dealerships on your website! You are telling the public that it’s a trustworthy company representing you so you really shouldn’t try to distant yourselves from them as you have below when it becomes a problem for you to be represented by than, as you offered no alternative to have your expensive and faulty product taken to a non independent repair shop! I presume you have no way of having your faulty goods mended because why send us to an independent one! 2. The case number is: 00166622 3. A manager called, ????? phoned us today at 9:21, date: 10/03/…. ????? stated today that you had the parts ordered from the company that’s gone into administration and you will clearly see by report that the fault lies in manufacture and it’s been noted that you’re no longer producing this machine, I wonder why! Why when you’ve received the report from SJH Machinery and order for replacement of faulty parts you didn’t contact us when you knew the company had gone into administration! We have lost money on the faulty goods! We have taken a considerable amount of time and fuel trying to resolve the issue, because of travelling to SJH Machinery on numerous occasions because of your faulty goods ! We have had to pay for a gardener because of your faulty goods and we will again be paying for another gardener because of your faulty goods and if the situation isn’t rectified soon because of your faulty goods! Then we will be doing a family combined campaign, which will be accurate and honest, on all social media because of your faulty goods and terrible service if this is not dealt with in a satisfactory way! If I seem irate then that is because of an emails not being responded to, promises of phone calls by two people from your company not following through with what they said they were going to do and not having the decency to update us on the situation by a follow up calls! Your company and your product has failed on every level so far! Another update Stiga have complained to Trustpilot that I included the name of manager so I’ve removed them! Hi. Can anyone advise how to change the oil on an 827H as there doesn't appearto be a drain plug???

    • @brucklaygarageltd2832
      @brucklaygarageltd2832 2 роки тому

      Hi, The best way is to use a syringe for removing the oil. Remove the oil dipstick and place the syringe in until you get all the oil out. A syringe should have come with the 827H.

      Hi Leonie, Sometimes you need to put the plug in a slight angle and then twist as you are putting it in the chute. See this video from Stiga as it may be helpful and you'll see what I mean . Also try it at different height adjustments - some prefer bottom or top of the range. Hope that helps. ua-cam.com/video/ZAp3swo3LEg/v-deo.html

      Hi. This model is recommended for up to 8500m2 which is around 2 acres - but it would manage your three acre paddock - just take longer. It is 2WD but I assume that it is a pretty flat area of ground. It should be able to handle what you need, but there are bigger and 4WD models available.

      @@SledgeGaming You won't find anything bigger in the Mountfield range. This model has a bigger engine and cut size than Mountfield can offer in side-discharge. Speak to a local dealer and they will be able to sort you out.

      Hi, yes this is a hydrostatic model. There is no grass box as this puts cutting out the side or mulches back into the lawn.
