If I dont play life music, performances, only hobby at home productions, and I would like to learn more about Synth, to play with my guitar on logic, would you recomended multi/poly or some software ? :) its about the money what you get for money? :)

Hi Yuki, happy New Year! This synth sounds good. Korg is definitely doing good things with most of their modern creations. Too bad they are skimping a bit on the keybed. Unfortunately I have little room left, so I probably will wait for the vst version to be released. Not sure if it’s wise to replace my midi keyboard (fatar keybed) with it to make room. And I wonder how this actually compares with say the Dune 3 vst. The editor is a bit lackluster as well, it’s the same situation as with the Wavestate, OpSix and Modwave. The vst’s are a lot better/usable than the editor. I wish the would just make the vst capable to be the editor. Same as Arturia did with the Microfreak and Minifreak. Those are even free vst’s if you have the hardware. Cheers!

Summit is great. To bad Novation is stubborn with regards to doing something about moving from active patch in single mode to moving to bi-timbral mode while keeping that patch active in either A/B. Plus kinda sucks that filter gain and arp sync rate don't have interface knobs.

It is an Oberheim for me as well, plays/adds different character to music I like to make, looking forward getting it. Thanks for enjoyable presentation mate!

Great demo!, The Multi/Poly is a wonderful sounding instrument. It covers a very wide range of great analog style sounds. It's surprisingly easy to program too, even without the software.

Of all the things to praise about the Multi/Poly, it's really the virtual analog emulations that really impressed me with all the demos I've heard, including this one. It sounds really good. Thanks. 👍

I think Unison is where a lot of synths differ much and I especially like it on Oberheim Synths - wonder how unison on this one sounds

Sounds much like the Mono/Poly VST that I have had for 10 years. I think they ported much of the code to the digital chip in this.

Did you play the UBXA keybed? Thats a very intersting one - seems the Poly D has a very bad one if its even worse than the one on the Korgs

Excellent capabilities, but... Compared to real analog synths> Multi/Poly sounds really too metallic. Need warmth

This synth is on my “I want it but currently are not going to spend anymore on synths” list. I think it is a great synth, it sounds good and it has a super sequencer on board. By the way if I remember correctly from the WS, you can modulate pan with the keyboard so that is also a way to get good pan.

It's really a pitty that Korg cheapens out when it comes to the keybeds on these small form factor Synths. Whatever you like most of their new software/hardware Synths most is great Synths with bad keybeds. They might as well just make them in desktop versions without a dedicated keybed. There is no idea in paying for the hardware versions when the keybeds are cheap and without aftertouch. This is a nice VA Synth for a not great, but reasonable price compared to some of the old ressurected Analog Synth brands that goes for 4k and upwards 8k and they are ALL VA Synths. not one of them is real Analog. Lots of great features in the Multi/Poly.

The best VA hardware synth is the Virus TI, come on.

This is a phenomenal synth, it replaced my Modwave. Gaining a fantastic VA engine and 2x the oscillators/layers was definitely worth losing sample playback. The Virus TI's still my favorite, as I love its 90s/2000s trance vibe, but this is a strong #2. As far as the editor goes, I had no issues on Windows and you can import wavetables just like on Modwave. The only annoyance is that if you have Modwave presets saved as "mwbundle" files you can't import them directly to the Multi/Poly, even if they don't use samples.

Seems like when you say you aren’t going to buy a particular synth, you end up buying that particular synth. 😃 Nice review, and at least on YT it sounds great. Most VAs don’t tick my boxes sound wise, but this one is nice. That MS20 filter with resonance sounded great.

I own a few synths of varying prices and decades this ain’t my cheapest or most expensive but it’s now my favorite :) would love to see more vids!

For me, concerning the build quality (incl. key bed), the U.D.O. Super Gemini is at the very top.

Hey Yuki! Congrats on the new interface! It sounds great! I have a Scarlett 4i4 v4 and I am happy with it so far, but the Zoom wasn't even on my radar when I was looking at interfaces. I wish I had known more about it,. The only thing I "dislike" about the Scarlett is that I wish it had more inputs, but I was reluctant to go bigger at this stage of my DAW journey. Looking forward to the surprise! Is it snow? =) That's the surprise we're getting where I live! LOL!

i have been looking at this myself (from a modular gear perspective) but i went a different route in the end. i just did an A-B with the audio on your last video and i have to say your voice sounds clearer to me on the previous video :-(. this sounds boxy and muffled in comparison to me, maybe something in with the eq or a compression preset ? a friend of mine got one of these zoom interfaces and is over the moon with it....

It’s a great sounding synth but as you said the memory use is extreme. And that makes it unusable for me, even on my M2 MacBook pro with 32 go memory.

One more quick question. I just realized that my deluxe is triggering the notes when the keypress is only about 60% of the way through its travel. It's consistent throughout the keybed. Does anyone else's do this? I didn't notice it until I was trying to play some more delicate stuff using 'keys' sounds. Thanks in advance.

TEO-5 is my new gear pick for 2024 too. Lots of great stuff came out but all I bought this year was a MPC Key 37 and the TEO-5. The Nightverb is on my want list too. Happy New Year and I look forward to seeing more videos from you!
