Thank you. This helps with my search. I have a 2000 Frontier 4x2 that doesn't like to go into gear when I put it in D (drive) when the temperature is cold and I first start the engine. If I put it into 2 it will go into gear and then when I get up to speed I can put it in D and it will work fine the rest of the time. I was told that a Nissan Tech stated that the transmission line pressure solenoid valve can get clogged and cause this issue. I was told I could drain the fluid, drop the pan and would be able to access the transmission line pressure solenoid valve. I was told that there are two small holes on the side of the solenoid that can be sprayed with carburetor cleaner. Another guy who had the same problem stated that doing this solved the problem. The fluid was changed last summer. QUESTION... What does the transmission line pressure solenoid valve look like and can you give me an idea where it is on this transmission? I have looked at the video and can't seem to identify it. Thank you!

Did you put antifreeze in the radiator or the radiator reservoir?

I have the exact car, I have a code p0734 by itself. fluid was dirty, no debris when the pan came off. changed the fluid and the filter. Now I have no 4th gear at all suddenly and CEL for the p0734. Thinking maybe the solenoid is clogged. planning to replace the solenoid. previous owner had the issue after towing a pop up camper. When I had 4th gear there were no shudders or issues shifting other than the 4th gear having a slight hesitation. do you think the solenoid is my culprit or the clutch pack is shot? there was only very fine material on the magnet, thank you

Call me crazy here but why isn't anybody just cutting the hose in half and then tearing it off. Then reinstalling with a more favorable access to the hose clamp?

Dude, the yellow is poly! Not rubber at all, you replaced poly with poly and that's fine but you paid twice and threw brand new set in the trash

How common are issues with the transmission? I noticed my fluid was leaking the other week on my 2000 frontier but like a typical punk kid I kind of ignored it and waited a while to contact a mechanic, yesterday had some trouble shifting and today the drive option doesn't even work but I can put it in second and it drives. After driving in second for maybe ten minutes I can put it in drive again and it works. There is also a rattling noise that is potentially coming from the transmission.

A simple way to check a fule injector is to take a long screw driver place it on the injctor and put the other end to your ear if you hear tapping noise its good if you dont hear tapping its bad or bad wires .

My 01 Frontier xe has 311k miles on it. It's started to not pull it when i first shift into drive all other geared work and once it catches down in 2nd i can shift up to drive and it works properly until its shifted into park, then i have to do it all over again. Fluid is full but dark . Help?

Is it automatic or manual. The ignition lock assemblies are different for a manual versus the automatic transmission. Important to know before purchasing,. The 2002 Nissan Frontier automatic transmission ignition lock is hard to reference/find.

Also, fyi to everyone. If doing this with the trans still attached to the motor, make sure before you drop the valve body all the way to drain all the residual fluid. I just took a bath 😂

Don't get them hot, use good oil and half decent filters with a bypass valve, and change at least the oil filter shortly after the bypass valve opens on the filter. The longer oil stays clean, the longer they last. They're kinda picky on what kind of abuse you put them thru. They love rpms, and don't mind being worked at 3 psi of boost... 4 is probably the magical number for stock engines tho
