Those initial noodles almost definitely were not vegan unfortunately. Even the various tofu "sticks" at 7-11 are all not vegan. They have egg or fish products of some sort. Sucks. To know what is in everything, using Google Lens is a must and a lifesaver! The good news is numerous great vegan places in Tokyo now and even more places with vegan options.

I live in Melbourne 15yr I only drink 7/11 $1 coffee otherwise I diy home made.

The real reason why coffee is so expensive, coffee is purchased is USD and right now the Australian dollar is terrible. Global warming has made coffee prices go to record prices due to droughts in South America. That also means most roasters are using very average coffees in their blends. When the Aussie dollar is strong, Melbourne coffee is great!! Aussie dollar is weak and the coffee is filled with fillers and boring flavours. This is why you are seeing blends made with PNG/Brazil today and the year before that Colombia/Brazil. Melbourne coffee is struggling and its not in a good place. Especially when you see Artisanal roasters making filter blends. That = leftover old crops or boring filters that have no complexity.

1:22 it might say tomato chillie but the noodle itself is made of pork most times, Dont eat any noodle if its not labelled as vegan openly

I went to the BVM a couple of years ago. I’d just so happened to fly into Melbourne from Adelaide for a solo weekend for Mother’s Day, and BVM fortuitously was on that same weekend. There were sooooooo many epic vegan options on display, I just couldn’t even deal. Really want to come back for another some time, finances permitting, and stock up on more goodies I can’t seem to find here.
