Soo… what are some 1000 - 2000 Euro range watches *not* being Rolex or Omega copies? And ideally much more interesting looking than those, too? Is the Grande Diva by Davosa the only worthwhile mechanical watch for around 1000 Euro being just beautiful to look at, as long as you’re ok with the flood of synthetic deco stones? Is the Davosa Apnea Diver the most desirable convertible watch (from wristwatch to table clock) for its price right now? Is there an open case back alternative to the Ball Pocket Watch? What’s there to become really excited about when not having millions of Euro hoarded?

Hmmmmm. I wonder if we're getting the whole story here. What's being described is what I'd expect after a watch took a severe knock, perhaps dropped onto a hard surface and landed on the crown. If not then the other possibility is something foreign has found it's way into the balance, in which case taking the back off and using a squeeze ball pump around that area might do the trick. Sometimes the simplest fixes are the most effective

I'm usually one to seek out "variety" for my collection. A new purchase requires something "different" in order to appeal to me. So one would THINK a variety of materials, including bronze, would catch my interest. But while Ti found a home with me, I haven't been tempted by bronze at all. I personally don't think they look that great NEW, and if they tend to start looking worse over time, or at least require some extra maintenance??....no thanks.

I prefer the patina with all bronze bracelet however if someone liked shiny bronze I think probably the easiest and cheapest as well as quickest way to remove the oxidization is with a bowl of clean water and a denture cleaning tablet . Super easy and fast and super shiny . It gets all of the nooks and crannies with no effort on your part . Yeah just screw down your crown or push it in of course set the watch in the bowl of water and plop in the tablet . All that you have to do is keep an eye on it and pull it out when the level of shine is to your liking . It'll literally be like new .

I had a Baltic bronze Aquascaphe. I never really understood the appeal until I owned one. At first I tried to keep it shiny and new with lemon juice. But eventually out of laziness I let it go. And I really enjoyed watching the slight change in the finish as time went on.

Just put it in a bowl of lemon juice for a few minutes.

Hm you want it as close to the original as posible? So go flieger means go big! 45mm! And the horns where the strap is mounted is not correct on the stowa... the laco has the straight classic horns...the strap is also not a closed loop strap like the original and like on the laco....glas back cover... hmm

Long pendulums swing more slowly than short pendulums, you regulate the time on a long case clock by moving the pendulum weight up to speed up the clock or down to slow it down. Maybe you meant that any particular length of pendulum will swing at a constant rate?

Would also go for the engineer m in movement and Gas lights. Also love the Glass back, even if it means not that much magnetic protection, but i still love it. Like with so many things: would be easy, if you can choose your favorite details of the whole collection and stuff it in one piece, it would be kinda easy

A nice review. Personally, I prefer the moonphase version. It has a greatly finished dial that looks less busy than the Longines Master equivalent (which does have a chronograph, though).

I’m looking at the EOD DM3200A do you know anything specific to this model? It is suggestively new but I cannot find the date it was started. Obviously, since it includes Tritium components its date of birth matters more.

Why does Jack Masons watch not get mentioned in all the other True GMT or even GMTs under $1000 ?

I think the black is probably the best looking of the choices...mainly because I've generally found the Traska color options to be pretty drab and unappealing. That, and the fact that I pretty much require a date on a watch has led me to pass on the brand. Can't please everyone!

Didn’t like hearing 38mm but since it’s actually 38.8 I can consider it, believe it or not.
