    I’ve grown onions for the first time from autumn sets. They were brilliant. All harvested and curing at the mo. This is only my second year of growing any veg. I’ve also dug up a second early potato I planted and that was much better than last years. Courgette not doing brill yet but I’m hopeful. All this in 2 raised beds. I’ve made a kale bed out of a wooden crate and had it covered from before planting out. That is coming on great. Last year my kale disappeared over night due to caterpillars. I didn’t know you had to net it.

    • @veggiepatchideas
      @veggiepatchideas Місяць тому

      Wow, sounds like your on track and it just shows you don't need loads of beds, My onion sets went in very early then just sat in water for months on end. This was the first year they failed me! And yes cover your broccoli cabbage white butterfly will lay eggs otherwise. Thanks for commenting 🌱🌱🙏🙏

  • @myrustygarden

    The dahlias look amazing and hopefully it’s being in the raised beds that helped. Mine are in pots so I’m going to try leaving them protected on the patio 🤞🤞. I was quite disappointed however that I bought a black dahlia seed online and it came out pink. Kale 🥬 looks excellent as does the broccoli 🥦 . All in all Glen not a bad result after all the crap weather. Have a wonderful weekend, Ali 🌞31c 🇨🇦
