Hello. I am a chronic pain sufferer and I use cannabis to relive the symptoms. I have been suffering for decades and the pain has become so profound that I have had to stop working. However, the cost of medication is still significant, and I'm attempting to reduce some subsidies to accommodate the cost, as these are "out of pocket" expenses. I have been asked to obtain a letter from my healthcare provider indicating support for the use of THC to control pain, as medical and recreational marijuana are legal in my state. I inquired with my traditional PC and the request was denied, because they said they didn't provide the prescription for medical marijuana. That's true. The prescription was provided by a Marijuana doctor. I inquired for support from this doctor and I got a standard form letter, offering some support. I am looking to obtain a stronger provider letter that will specifically support the use of cannabis to control pain. How can I do this?

I had a 3 level lower lumbar disc replacements on May 7 by Dr Johnson of Idaho Falls ID. On may 7 before surgery i entered the Idaho Falls community relying heavily on my walker in intolerable pain in my legs my nerves compressed and damaged. I decided maybe I could take two more weeks. As the Dr said I was to the point where the quality of life “was not worth living any more”. My insurance had already approved a fusion in CA where I live. Research led me to artificial discs. 4 hours after my surgery, I sold straight and walked without that hell pain. Truly life saving for me and a miracle. It was worth every penny and I was lucky enough to have a retirement account. I just did an hour on the treadmill. Better every day. If you need it don’t wait, just do it. Feel free to contact me.

I thought the pain I've had in my lower back for a while was just a disc or something but the last few months I've had more than a few instances where all the sudden I'm doubled over in horrible pain for 10 mins and nothing helps. It starts in my back and radiates towards my abdomen. Intense pain kinda stabbing-like but idk and idk where exactly it comes from either but it reoccurs at least once every other week or so

You are promoting intractable pain akin to torturing your patients. You have no idea, first hand how chronic pain can literally stop you in your tracks as it has done to me. I spend most of everyday in bed. I have tried every, and I mean every non-opioid therapy and they did not work. You are doing nothing more than causing fear and stigmatism amongst the chronic pain community. This the most unscientific and insufficient video that I have seen to date. You want to take your patient off of opioids prior to surgery? Are you kidding me? I feel like you are all going mad. In 10 20 years, I have absolutely no doubt that the medical community will look back at this as absolutely horrible period in medical history and ask what were they thinking? I don't want to be a guinea pig. Shame on you all.

@2:16 Let me tell you what’s “uncool” Doc…. Taking a knife to your patient & only giving the patient NSAIDs in (lieu of tried & true opioids)which can induce/increase bleeding! This is what happened to me for several days until SOMEONE realized how serious this was. It’s astonishing to me how patient history (history of stomach ulcers for ex.) is being thrown out the window. We are slowly going to become an anti-surgery country instead of an anti opioid country! Everyone is experiencing this lunacy now.

Nervous system, cortisol, high non nutritious carb diet, behavioral patterns, neuro-musculature, habits, habits, habits, traumas (emotional and physical), lifestyle, dysfunctional use of body, habits habits habits, lifestyle, furniture …. 51 now. If could have had the awareness i do now, i think the progression into several herniations could have been derailed 30 yrs ago! Thats how long this train has been coming. Not for me not trying to get help when things started changing in other parts of MY CONNECTED BODY, but i wasnt “sick” or “visibly injured” yet. 2nd herniation, pain dr showed me my mri and the fatty infiltrates in the muscle and the whole brain lit up. still categorized by my pcp as his words” perfectly healthy”. nope, whats happening inside me just hasnt manifested into a lab result worthy of tx. THANKING GOD for all the gaslighting, horrible pain, and just other weird divine interventions that kept me from further modern med interventions and drugs. I now believe the 2nd half is going to be greater than the first. I had to dig my own self out of the woods to find a pathway towards holistic wellbeing. Prayers for humans to find their way. 👣🌈🦋

I’m a 68yo female, living in Fort Worth, Texas. A few months ago I heard a comment about the LIFTMOR Study and immediately started researching on line and found some videos of the Bone Clinic, and Dr. Beck and the amazing results they were achieving. I knew immediately I wanted to embark on this journey. After identifying the specific exercises, and protocol for the program, I started the program myself after getting a green light from my orthopedic doctor and partnering up with a personal trainer who I educated about the exercises, standards, and goals of the program. He is keeping me in good form! I was also able to get an x-ray of my Cobb angle and will be getting current DEXA scan…both as baseline scores. I am hungry for any additional information about the program as I can be privy to. Things such as nutritional guidelines, additional exercises, etc. I just don’t know how to contact the Bone Clinic as a non-patient, and if they are willing to share more of their protocols. I’ve heard this program is being rolled out all across Australia and wish so much, that could happen here in the US. If you can share any link or way I can get new info, newsletters, Q and A’s etc, it would be greatly appreciated. You guys are doing marvelous things. Thank you for turning my health around. Right now I’m dead-lifting 55lbs, having started at 25. But it’s onwards and upwards for me, thanks to you! NOTE: I started my own program, February 2024

I am 71 years old i have known that have scoliosis and never was told they could help me. And now pain and the curve is affecting my whole live. I had been going to a pain doctor for a steroid shot in my lower back pain which i didn't feel any relief from the injection last September. I contact the doctor that could he order a xray to check how my back is getting worse. I always had pain below my left breast that that goes to my back. I was disappointed cause they send the mri to a orthopedic doctor he said it wasn't so bad to have surgery. I really want to know how could get pain relief. And about the scoliosis i couldn't get surgery cause my age. He said i could get you appointment with the scoliosis dr. But he said my pain Doctor knows what to . He is good doctor. I feel like neither doctor care about my pain and since i am old i need keep in pain. I feel alive I retired and i love to be active, love to dance, cooking. I don't see to get my help from the doctors that need to help me.

Great conversation. I urge everyone (and remind myself) to join a support group because those are the only people who truly know what this disease is like. I call it a "You Look Fine" disease because all the nasty stuff happens on the inside. Except for uveitis, which I thought was pink eye when I first got it. It's how I was diagnosed. My amazing GP took one look in my eye, got a grim look on his face, and then put me in a cab to the ophthalmologist where the eye guy listed all my symptoms without even examining me. Do you have this? Yup. How about that and that? Yup and another yup. How does this eye doctor know about my back? He then decided to tell me a story about his colleague with AS who was a neurologist. "Was" is the operative word there because he slipped on the ice and broke his fragile neck. "OK Doc, I said. No slipping on ice, although this is Chicago. Lots of ice here." He also said not to get in any bar fights, which is good advice in general. They don't call it brittle spine disease for nothing. It's a wicked, lonely disease that can steal the goodness from your life. I've had it for 40 years. I got the gene. My uncle had it. Your job is to do whatever you can to hold on to as much of your life's goodness as you can. You're gonna need a lot of help with that or the pain and disability and your own depression will eat it all up. You have to get creative when coping with a life sentence. My uncle died at 87 and I'm still here at 66. There were times when I didn't want to be, but that's where the help comes in. In my case, I have very little pain now with my treatment and the fact that the disease kind of simmers down starting in your 50s, which is something I read when I was diagnosed and found it to be true. Fatigue is another story. That's the tough one because it shuts your life down. Everybody is different but we are all in this together. I have wisdom and a perspective on the illness that should be shared with others. So does everyone who gets this awful thing. That's what support groups are for.

I would like to see Dr. Shaffrey. I'm near NC Duke. I need a 3rd opinion. 2 Hemvertebrae in the lumbar region with 51 degrees at top and 36 at bottom with 1st hemivertebrae around L1 or 2 and the 2nd L4 or 5. I have one opinion saying fuse my spine in situ and leave my curve at 51 degrees at the top and 36 at the bottom and clean up the stenosis. The other wants to do osteotomy and straighten it up as much as possible. I have no idea what to do!! I'm just sick of laying in the bed at 57 years of age!! Can't even hardly leave the house because I may have to lay down.☹😤😢

Chips, sodas, candies, cookies and other high carbohydrate and sugary items are good to limit or avoid altogether right along with most of the ultra processed foods. We are conditioned to neglect our bodies. Perhaps if we really valued our health so much of what we experience would be avoided or reduced considerably. But, that makes lots of money for those manipulating and exploiting us. My surgeon said my healing was among the best that he's witnessed. It probably had a lot to my being committed to surgery being successful. Eat well, get adequate rest, walk and do the exercises. Of course, as I'm sometimes reminded, I'm not a physician. 😮

This is absolute torture beyond anything imaginable, especially when you suffer from it from the thoracic to the lumbar, into the sacroiliac joints. If I wasn't on vicodin, gabapentin, morphine and Tylenol rapid release 4 times a day, the pain would be uncontrollable and constant, too much to bear living and has you wishing you were dead because you come to believe you are better off dead rather than suffer like that. If it wasn't for the painkillers, I wouldn't be living. Still, in a very real sense, it's a living death since my activities are severely limited. The doctor is right here when he said you have this pain for life once you have it. When I wake up, the pain is at it's worse because the more I rest in bed, though I need the rest and I always sleep with a heating pad for my back, still when I awaken, the pain hits me through the roof because my body has been dormant while sleeping. I wake up like a corpse with rigor mortis in my back and associated pain in my limbs and joints throughout my body.

Thank You for a Great Video! I’m 58 now and went through decades of spine surgeries and pain meds for the “failed back surgery”. At 20 or 21, I was a fairly strong 6’x1” 240lb firefighter/EMT but suffered from fairly severe hip pain and the mornings were just brutal, so I bought an adjustable “hospital” bed. Then came the years of “you have severely herniated discs…. Finally (I’m guessing AS folk know what I mean) I was forced to go to HSS in NYC for an evaluation. After DECADES of “NJ expert docs” looking at me every 30 days for prescription refills, FAILED to recognize the real typical signs. The HSS orthopedic surgeon spent under 5 minutes of chit chat before telling me “I’m 99% certain you have something called Ankylosing Spondylitis”. That was at age 50.! I was HLA-B27 negative and have been on a shit ton of biologics now (Humira / Remicade / Cosentyx / Simponi / Taltz / and 2 ,ore I can’t recall) with no results and now walking with a walker while staring strata the ground. It sucks and all, but the truly EVIL part ? The idiot “pain management doctors” will not prescribe opiate pain meds now because of the “opiate crisis” . Forget the completely open borders and fentanyl pouring in… You all know what I’m getting at. If you’re in NJ, in MY OPINION, look carefully at St. Barnabas and “Doctor” Henry Wroblewski BEFORE selecting them. Now, HSS (hospital for special surgery) ..? THE BEST ! (tough to get to and very backed up w/appointments, but very knowledgeable.. At some point the pain will be so unbearable that I’ll just drift off, but really don’t want my family to suffer more than they already have helping me cope with this dreaded disease. Thanks and Good Luck!
