Hi! Great Video, thanks! My question relates to how deposit and rent are paid? I lived in BKK 10 years ago and paid the deposit in cash and had to pay the rent at a deposit machine in cash as well. That's why I often had to withdraw money due to the 10.000 Baht ATM-limit and always had the ATM fees. Are there modern money transfer methods these days in common if you don't have a Thai bank account?

I have a certain view about this. It's not about what your nature is, it's about affection. If two people really like each other and they find a soulmate in each other, who are other people to judge? A relation consists about many things, one of those is 'intimacy', and part of 'intimacy' is sex. So it's only a fraction of the total aspect of a relation. Since nobody is perfect in a relation this is the little part that you either overcome, life with it, but still have a great relation. If a guy can date a trans and can live with the fact 'she' has no vagina but the 'other thing' it's totally up to them. Happiness is key, and I don't think the private part should be a decisive factor in that one. Besides, I think for guys these transgirls are also just great to get along. But that's my opinion. 🙂

My name is Gabriel of Las Vegas (healthy 69 going to 70, been retired for 7 years). Sam, thank you kindly for your insight in regard to Thailand. I was thinking about relocating there but I have to put things on hold for the following reasons: 1. Pollution is very bad (it's almost every day for weeks now). 2. Organic grocery foods are 2x and sometime 3x more than what I get from Costco. I only eat Organic foods. 3. I never eat street foods due to their MSG, high salt and sugar content and all those vehicles belching smoke and dirt near the food stalls. 4. If I do eat out, it's always in an elegant restaurant which is sometimes a lot more than here in the United States. 5. On a Retirement Visa, retirees are now required to report every 90 days to the immigration website or in person. I'm a Retiree and not a Parolee. 6. Defamation Law of Thailand is very strict. People need to be careful in complaining, let us say, bad customer service in a restaurant. You could be sued? Wow. I do love the lower rental cost. The BTS, MRT, and SRT along with the Airport Rail Link are all well done. The Medical and Dental care are both affordable and good patient care. Condo designs are much better than most in Southeast Asia. I am hoping to make a decision in one month. Thanks again Sam.

I have lived in Bangkok for 10+ years, stayed in all kinda luxurious apartment brands: Ideo Q, Rhythm, Park Origin and some others, mainly in Chid Lom, Asoke, Phrom Pong and Thong Lo. The quality is mostly incredibly bad. Thin walls, small rooms, stuff breaks after just 1-2 years. Now I moved to an apartment that was built in 2010, massive walls, no noise, much larger room. In these small luxurious apartments I paid around 25-30k baht for 35sqm. Now I pay 25k for 60sqm and still have a large gym and swimming pool. Same location in downtown Bangkok. Yes, these newer luxurious apartments seem super nice and fancy, but its mostly just a small room, you can hear every noise, sometimes the balcony doors doesn't even fully close (like in Rhythm.....) or they have paper walls (like in Park Origin).

Thanks for a well presented video. I would add a couple of items which are on my list of things to watch out for when looking for a condo. For those who intend to use the pool regularly, make sure it gets some sun at least for part of the day. Some pools are covered or in the shade for most of the day and in spite of the heat the water can be freezing. I use the pool daily so that would be a deal breaker for me. Also check the water pressure in the shower as that can be an issue in some condos. We'll be condo hunting in March so it's always good to watch videos like yours and see if there's anything we can add to our list like lift waiting time for instance. I'm assuming that would vary from condo to condo but also would depend on whether you use the lift at peak times when people commute to and from work or during the day when it's quieter. Can you post the name of this complex? I may do some nomadic travel and work. I would be interested to see how I can live there for what I pay around 4.4k here in Los Angeles. I have a small one bedroom.

I think the older kind of single man will spend 10000 baht on a condo and the other 20000 on alcohol. Also dating is not so important, it is having a girl join you in the bedroom for a few hours that is more needed. Can you include what the cost of that would be in the next video. I am speculating approx 4000 baht per occasion.
