Coogee 9m R1V3 race foil practise in strong wind
Переглядів 7574 роки тому
Another full powered session at my home spot in Western Australia. Starting to get used to my 9m Ozone R1V3 in 20-25 knot breeze and being able to push harder upwind. Downwind and gybes are still not fun in that wind but I have a whole summer to get on top of it :)

Session on my R1V3 15m and new Levitaz R5 race foil with Tarifa foil board in about 10 knots at our home spot in Perth, Australia. I have only had a few rides on the new foil and board set up after making the transition from the Duotone Daytona and Indy. It is incredibly stable and surprisingly easy but I still need a lot more practice to get my tacks and gybes consistent and smooth (in all con...

Foil kite deep water pack down R1V3
Переглядів 5 тис.4 роки тому
My first ride on my new 15m Ozone R1V3 ended in no wind giving me the perfect opportunity to do my best deep water pack down so far!
You rock! Beautiful spot too! But tacking footage is not good, tell to the drone operator that he has to put you and the kite on the frame!!!!!!
Why does that look SO easy when the reality is so different!! BRILLIANT
Nicely done, must have been a long swim!
Nice drive!!!
Doesn't Ozone say that rolling the R1 voids the warranty because it can damage the batons?
Nice video! How do you like the r5? Is it the v1? How is the maneuverability?
Hi! Yes this is the R5-V1. I have since switched to Chubanga V3… not too much between them but I find the Chu3 easier to manoeuvre and I’m more confident downwind on it. The R5 has a very “locked in” feeling which is great upwind.
@@janetaylor3848 Thank you very much for the feedback. I was also looking at the chubangua v3, it’s great that you’ve had the chance to try them both!
lindas imagens , obrigado
Hi just starting to learn these they aren't easy for me. Did it take you long to learn? Any tips?
Hi! Everyone finds tacks difficult! It took me a good 6 months of consistent practise before starting to get them regularly. Start with “beach tacks” getting the kite and body movement dialled on the sand then take it to water. There’s a few good videos such as by Daniela Moroz. Keep trying and you will get there eventually!
Thanks just seen your reply . Are you looping the kite as you change feet? It looks like a similar action to the back roll on twin tip. 8 months on and I'm not practicing them enough but got my jibes down well now 😂
Great video thanks for sharing 👌🏻
Looks good,still can’t tack 🤨
great riding. nice chasing by drone pilot
WoW!!!!!!
Im starting to get into Foiling tried the other day but was too shallow. When we kite on a TT we don't bend over at waist, why in foiling do I see a lot of racers not bring shoulders back.
Higher upwind angle
@@charliejenkins7977explain why 🫨 I feel that is better but dont know why
nice
Ozone gives a belt with all kites they sell. I always take it with me for extra compact packing kite. Easy to wear it on your waist.
nice work!!!,,,,i am laughing because my packdown was the opposite of that,, my lines were like hostile intelligent seaweed attacking me and trying to turn me into a mummy, but it was windy and wavey some maybe that was the difference. it wasn't no wind situation but rather a rope slider failure
Thanks! Yes the pack downs in stronger wind are more tricky (and not as neat!). A tip I find useful is to wind all the bridles in on the bar also about half way. This helps lessen the amount you can get tangled in but need to leave enough to be able to roll the bar up.
@@janetaylor3848 i also like that tip about getting the vent out of the water by rolling up the topside faster, brilliant. i also found sitting on my boarding in high wind chop/waves to be more difficult than i had thought it would be, you made it look easy. i guess i learned that practicing in my mind is not the same as doing it for real.
@@kevinlowe7552 haha yes I have a surfing background so sitting on my board is no problem. Plenty of guys in our club have found it difficult though, practise makes perfect!
Well, you did that about 100 times faster than me! Thanks for sharing!
I like to keep air in the kite, as it helps blow me ashore and lightens the weight of water inside the kite.
i also think that is a good idea in theory but recently discovered that in windy, wavy, conditions, the lines are a total menace,,, how do you control the lines while also using the kite as a sail?
For me if I do that water gets into the kite and then act as an anchor. You will become very slow to move
Nice one, I don't foil board, wonder how it is when you're neck deep in the ocean. Dread finding out lol
Hi, thanks for watching! This was in deep water, you just sit on your board. The ocean would be harder with the swell. And yes it is harder if you’ve also lost your board (as I’ve found out) but still possible ;)
@@janetaylor3848 yeah, had that experience. Good to get the board first and swim back to the kite with the board. In low wind. Packing is harder without a board to sit on... And I did it once and had a very hard time to find the board afterwards. Was very low wind, didn't expect the board to move so quick, but it was really far away. Foil board move very fast even in low wind.
Nicely done ;) Maybe you could have closed the zipper in the end.
I will have to try that next time! :)
Wow! Effortless. Nice!
Wow thats was well done! Thanks for sharing!
What a nice place to live and ride and a nice video. Second period of restrictions begining in France. Too bad. See the water down your house and not allowed to foil on. Take care of you all. Patrick
Well done! Better than on the beach :) I had the chance to do this today with my Ozone Hyperlink v2 13m. :-) I tried also FS Soul, PL Nova & F One HALO and i must say that the F One HALO is the easiest softkite to pack on the water I ever had.
Smoooth !!!
Looks like a lot of fun!
killing it Jane!
