Moin! Super 8 hat halt nur 18 fps, das sieht man dann bei schnellen Bewegungen. Das würdest Du auch bei Leinwand-Projektion sehen. Bei diesem Transfer wurde nach der Abtastung die originale Framerate von 18 wieder hergestellt (mit unserem VirtualDub/Avi Synth Script). Man kann auch nachträglich eine gleichmäßige Bewegungsunschärfe hereinbringen, indem man zB in eine 50p-Sequenz importiert (zB PremierePro) und wieder exportiert.

... und genau das kann man ja auch mit Topaz hinbekommen, in dem man Frames interpoliert. Dort, wo die grünen Einblendungen sind, wurde Topaz angewendet. Dort siehst du, dass die Bewegungen flüssig sind (aber: KI, das ist nicht auf dem Film gewesen).

Hallo, die Kolorierung wurde mit diversen Skripten gemacht, der Rest mit Topaz Video AI.

@@film-digital2129topaz ist super schlimm, habe es und arbeite damit seit langer zeit. Die interpolation würde niemals saubere zwischenbilder machen können wie in eurem video hier, mit topaz. welchen script habt ihr benutzt , wenn ich fragen darf?

Das sehe ich anders. Vielleicht entscheiden sich Dateien, die in Full HD digitalisiert wurden, im Moment noch nicht sehr von welchen, die in 4k aufgenommen wurden. Aber spätestens in ein paar Jahren hat man nur noch 4k oder 8k Wiedergabegeräte. Dann muss eine Full HD Datei sehr viel mehr vergrößert werden als eine 4k Datei und hat folglich mehr vergrößerte Pixel bzw Kompressionsartefakte. Wenn man also an die Zukunft denkt, dann besser 4k.

@@ulrikeschmidt2674 aha. Und 5 Jahre Später haben wir 16k Bildschirme und dann sitzen wir in der selben Falle. Ein Super 8 Film löst maximal 580 Linien auf. Und die auch nur in der Bildmitte. Aber gut wer 90% Datenmüll produzieren will, soll es machen...

@@film-digital2129 Nes!! or maybe not exactly, be careful. I understand you want to scan at a multiple of the film frame rate. But remember that if the projector isn't exactly in sync with the camera's frame rate, sooner or later you'll end up with the shutter crossing the field. I understand you use a slow shutter speed, but this only makes the shutter pass smoother. So the projector must have a DC motor controlled with a ring encoder or using a stepper motor, and the clock of the projector electronics must be exactly the camera's clock. also you need a signal to start the camera from the projector at the moment when the frame is not covered by the shutter. Then you are right. But this is exactly a frame by frame scan, only faster at 18 fps, and the end result is no different from a scan done at 1 fps or 5 fps or whatever. Finally, it is not true that a cinematic projection is more fluid than a video one. In cinema you have the shutter that blacks out 18 times a second, or 24 times in the case of 35mm. An 18Hz lamp is very annoying. My telecine, under development, works at 2.5 fps, but in order to not stress the old film, but it could very well work at 18 fps, the result would be the same. It works with two steppers, one for frame change and one for reel recovery, a control electronics by ESP32 and a synchronism with the BMPCC 4k via bluethoot. The digitizing camera was a Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera 4k (with optics and LED system of www.film-digital.com). The original Super 8 camera - I don´t know.

First, we digitized the Super 8 film with our system that we develop and sell (www.film-digital.com). Then we removed ghost images with our VirtualDub / AviSynth PlugIn and set the framerate of the file to 18 fps again (as the original film). Then we used Topaz Video AI to increase the framerate to 60 fps by interpolating frames. This is why the motion looks so fluent. Topaz did some stabilization as well. You see the difference between the sequences with the green "Topaz Video AI" mark and the sequences without that mark, that have not been edited with Topaz.

@@film-digital2129 Thanks for the reply. So the reason why it looked stuttering is because it was originally shot at 18fps? I'm looking at buying my first film camera. Leaning towards 16mm, but the 8mm camera prices are attractive.

The result always depends on how good the digitizations are. You can see in the sequences not marked with "Topaz Video AI" how the unedited footage looks like. It is quite good already. On the other hand, Topaz seem to have made some progress in the recent version ... but there are always sequences that work well and other that don´t ...

@@film-digital2129 Kann ich die Optik auch für eine N8 Projektor von Presenta mal benutzen also auch den Bauer für S8 und den Presenta für N8 Filme?

@@Fitjup1 Das ist kein Problem. Sie müssten nur mal schauen, ob der Durchmesser des Objektivschachts (an dem Ende im Projektor) auch 28 mm im Durchmesser ist, wie beim Bauer. Wenn die Objektivhalterung breiter ist, z.B. 32 mm, dann können wir eine Adapterhülse anfertigen (Artikelnummer 8003 unter film-digital.com).

Wir würden dann eine "fliegende Leitung" für das LED-Set mitliefern, so dass Sie die LED und Objektiv einfach von Projektor zu Projektor wechseln können ...

Das stimmt. Es gibt nur noch wenig Einzelhandel.

Not yet. With this system, it is not easy to capture sound. The only easy way is with audio interfaces like iRig pro. But this only works with iPhones. FilmicPro has to recognize the audio interface as sound input. In our experience, iRig is the only one that is recognized by FilmicPro.

1/36 is even better than 1/54. There is more light on each frame then. 1/36=2x18 (1/54=3x18)
