couldn't you just reverse the wire to get it to read correctly?
I tried, but it would either read the same or not work at all.
@@jonersmotors oh well if all else fails flip the fuel gauge upside down i guess?
i have got a Datsun magnet too. not the one you got but i think its a 620? maybe its the same as your truck..
I guess if you don't have good brakes, you Better have a good horn!! Haha I want a ride in your 56 Dodge! Take us along.
👍
Check balls.. where did they go?
It didn't have any when I first took it apart, which is probably why it ran so poorly.
I dont understand cars but i like watching Guys work on stuff :D
Replace that radio rn. Get some vintage looking one holy shit that looks so bad.
The entire purpose of the radio was to use what I had available and do it cheap. If I had the money to buy an original radio, I would.
New subscriber here. I love finding new channels like this where you're still finding your feet and learning how to create interesting content. I think you're doing great, so keep up the good work 👍
Gee, I thought that looks like it's filmed around Ocean Shores, Washington, USA and then I read the signage and lo and behold it's Nova Scotia! Nice! Great video! Great 4runner! p/s: How many miles/kms on that?
It has a little over 244,000 kms on it
Good job! Keep up the good work!!
Yes, Magnum engine are notorious for the plenum gasket failing. With everything else you did, looks and sounds like you got it got running and sounding great - and even took it to prom! Good stuff - I commend your hard work and dedication to keep your classic Dodge on the road. Happy belated Birthday and get well - keep those videos coming!
They do far better than that on the highway if you aren’t going 80+. If you’re only getting 7-8 mpg there is something wrong.
Definitely a beauty. Not like engines nowadays that have tons of wiring and hoses going everywhere.
I like these cars, I have a 96', but do you not see the 25 vacuum hoses snaking around everywhere.
Replace radiator shroud now. Save engine. Shroud made of plastic, from GM, has been cracked. Cause engine failure.
Apparently the suspension is the same from the 86-89 first gen 4Runners. My 86 is at the mechanic now getting a “new” front end from a 94.

You’re right, that’s a beautiful 2nd gen 4runner!
I like the color really fits the 4runner
is the oil control ring on the piston is packed with carbon & goop? I can't tell for sure, from what you showed, but it looks black & smooth.
The ring is fine. It just looks like it's bad.
@@jonersmotors is that an aluminum cylinder? i've heard briggs sold some, and they wear quickly. That makes the piston rings fit loose, so they don't seal well, even if the bore is smooth. Check the end gaps on 1 & 2, make sure they are still tight. i have a Prelude that has FRM sleeves, which aren't iron. Though there is some aluminum, FRM is more like carbon fiber reinforced porcelain. The porcelain is harder than the iron piston rings, so while the end gap does get bigger, the ring is getting thinner. The cylinder is not wearing.
It is an aluminum cylinder. Sadly, I don't think having the rings gaped correctly will stop the oil burning/ leaking compression 😔😔😔.
@@jonersmotors you will be surprised how much it helps, because when the gap is too large the rings loose tension, so they don't seal. one test is to do a dry compression test & a wet compression test, then compare the numbers. The oil put in for the wet test helps the rings seal.
I like the backwards fuel tank...i know it is 'backwards', and I don't like things wrong... so i blame everyone who installed one previously, and shaped my memory. They were wrong. what program did you use to stitch these video together (ie: "the next day" @2:49)?
I use DaVinci Resolve for my editing.
yea 🤮
How come your fuel tank was on backwards is the fuel tap getting in the way ?
Correct😎
👍👍👍👍
Love how enthused you are over this 20 year old stereo! 1956 car, 1956 music. I like your taste!
Beautiful! I had a 1975 Datsun pickup for 22 years before it was stolen in Phoenix in 1999. Love these trucks!
Hmm, now my first comment has disappeared, maybe because it had URL links in it? Anyway, the gist of that comment was that Steele Rubber sells new vent window weatherstrips for your car, for both the front door and rear door vent windows. They are kinda pricey though. 🙂 Good job on getting your car sealed up, and getting the interior looking good!
Sorry for leaving two comments, but for some reason I couldn't edit the first one to add more! Your method of sealing the vent windows was much cheaper than buying new weatherstrips! You also may want to check into getting an original or reprint of the Factory Shop Manual for your car, it should show you things like how to take the window out, adjust it, etc. Also the Factory Parts Manual is a good thing to have, since it will show the various parts in an 'exploded' view to give you a good feel for how things work and come apart/go back together. Parts manual is also helpful when you need to replace original parts -- many vendors go by the original MoPar part numbers.
I was working on my truck yesterday, i changed out the drivers side door hinge, then after that decided to change out the door as well there was a lot of rust on the bottom of the door.
Great walkaround! I have a weathered 1972 model which is identical to yours apart from colour. Its great for riding round my home town, I love it. Such a comfortable (and so far) reliable bike. I am thinking of putting saddlebags on like yours, they look great!

Such a beauty! Nice video
Keep plugging away at it, you will get it done. What is the blue car sitting next to the Plymouth?
The blue car is a 1962 Vauxhall victor
Nice
I'm thinking my V8 Chevy luv might be a bit more of a handle in snow.
Throw about four or five sandbags in the back directly above the rear axle. And it would do even better. Nice truck by the way.
What part of NS are you from?
Yarmouth
inch of snow wont be much of a challenge.
True. It was more about having some fun in the snow.
@@jonersmotors did it get as cold over there as it did here? in Alberta it was -42c to -50c.
@@Barret_Radtke It only got down to -5c here.
@@jonersmotors lucky you lol. maybe its still on its way over there.
@@jonersmotors it was too cold hear to even try to start my truck without plugging it in.

Beautiful 521
Weight in the trunk does wonders.
Snow tires and sand bags in the trunk would help.
This one beautiful but you got there I got the blue Yamaha QT50 Hopper she is a Butte
Pretty cool just seeing this thing on the road!
Im abt to build my freinds whole bike tomorrow
Looking forward to part 2!
Keep up the good work sport
My sister had one; she got her in 1973. There was a factory in Eibar, Basque Country, and if the bike had the slightest fault, it was sold as a second hand machine. Our bike had a tiny bump in the rear seat and my sister bought her almost in a half price. There was another version with three gears. It was better, and more pretty too, orange. Good video. Eskerrikasko!
