This channel shows outdoorsy adventures - camping, canoeing, kayaking, and hiking. I want to show off the beauty and adventure Wisconsin has to offer.
Born and raised in Wisconsin, Chet (the wookie) and I (beanpole) have had varying degrees of experience in the outdoors. Chet said hello to 50 in 2022. We'd like to enjoy the outdoors every moment we can whether it be on foot, wheels, or by water. We've even gone back to primitive tent camping from the luxuries of a camper recently adding hammock camping and hot tenting to the list. As much as my allergies and the sun try to prevent me from enjoying the outdoors, I'll strike back with Claritin and SPF 50.
If you enjoy what you see, please subscribe.

Camp in the Rain | Amnicon Falls State Park | Paddling Bois Brule and Lake Nebagamon - 06/20-23/24
Chet took a long weekend and headed up to Amnicon Falls on Thursday. I joined him late Friday night and apparently brought the rain. He had a gorgeous day to paddle the Bois Brule River on Thursday but it rained and got a little dicey Saturday when we got out on Lake Nebagamon. Regardless of the weather, we had a great time and the park is truly spectacular. I highly recommend.

Feeding Mosquitoes and Hiking with Bears on Madeline Island - 06/15-16/24
Переглядів 160День тому
We took a last minute trip to Madeline Island - our first visit - to scout out for future vacations. Saturday morning we made the 10 am ferry from Bayfield to Madeline Island. It was ridiculously crowded because of a roller blading event - road closures and hoards of people. We immediately headed to Big Bay State Park to avoid the crowds. We were swarmed by mosquitoes standing in the parking lo...

Dude, I know you were up Schitt Creek without a paddle in the first two seconds of the video😂😂
I know this video is quite old, and who knows if anyone will ever watch this video again. But wanted to share my experience in case anyone else comes across this! Just came across this video this morning before doing it myself for the first time! Dropped in at the wind lake dam near my house and went all the way into Burlington to Riverside Park. Would have gone further if the sun wasn't soon setting. Roughly 14 miles later, got picked up and threw it on the roof rack and back home :) saw one singular boat the whole time, and that was on the drainage canal portion. Was just as surprised to see them as they were surprised to see me, even asked if I was lost LOL. A guy on Oak St offered me a beer, I turned it down and asked for a water which he provided. Struggle with a lot of social anxiety and that really meant a lot from a stranger. Think I'm going to have to go back and bring him some beer even though I don't drink anymore for his kindness. I didn't even get his name, noted down the address so actually yes, I'm going to do that next week. I also believe my next purchase needs to be a drysuit, I'd love to be able to paddle more often and also not have to worry about if I flip and if I will be doing alright. I had a great time, but my arms are now noodles hahaha.
That's quite a paddle! Sounds like an awesome time. That dry suit gives me so much reassurance that I'm not being risky on the water. - bean
So cool!!!! Bears!🐻
Focus the way you’re going it looks like it’s gonna be 20 gallons of gas and a week
🤷🏼♀️learning curve - bean
for the first car what is that orange thing sticking out of the bumper?
@samburger44 I am not a car person, but I was told that some people have given that style/year of Camaro the nickname catfish. The cooler was being used as a joke to look like a fishing lure stuck in the catfish's mouth. Im sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong - bean
That is correct. - Wookie
Look at Ash trying to act like she is working but playing with the same stick the whole time..😂 Love ya Sis
is the theme of this show that you have to put a skeleton or mannequin or cardboard cutout in the car? seems like childish stuff.
I always laughed at the “Bong Recreation Area” sign on 94 but never investigated. Looks nice.
I feel like it's a well kept secret. It's a big park with great hiking trails and that beautiful lake. - bean
I take my kids fishing here all the time. Why didn't you access the pond from the east beach shoreline? Even from the west shoreline? That is literally the worst spot to access the pond. Love your cruiser 12.8. Really want to get my wife one of those little boats for paddling. And thanks for cleaning up the pond. ❤
There were people fishing on both beaches. We didn't want to disturb them. I love my boat. She'd love the cruiser.
Where is this at?
Sandhill Wildlife Area in Babcock, WI. That's in Wood County. Central Wisconsin
Free mulch
And he loves to do it
Damn.. y’all need some WATER! I do feel bad y’all havin a drought 😕
That's a controlled lake via a dam. We are actually dealing with flooding in certain locations now after all the rain we had later in May. We need moderation.
Catch them and DO NOT RELEASE.
There were so many!!
YES it's extremely complicated. To UNPLUG A CORD. We have some real ROCKET scientist
Disgusting attitude. But you don't need OUR validation. Discuss like a healthy couple. Show him this video. Make his hard head get it.
He should have checked befor moving
Divorce or something -🧑🏿🦲
I won’t interject myself, but definetly feels like there is some unreleased tension and undiscussed topics of conversation.
Definitely
Amazing!
Stop whining.
My wife and I did a section hike from the Chippewa-Moraine section all the way to the town of Cornell over 4 days earlier in May. We're planning on doing a section in the Chequamegon near Medford later this fall.
That's on the bucket list - section hiking the entire IAT. It's so beautiful. - bean
Good one, should have left the karoke sound in LOL we stopped for gas at the coloma exit yesterday on the way home, thought about you guys
How cool! We were Coloma until about 11 Sunday morning. Got to see the northern lights the 1st time this weekend. - bean
@@thewookieandbeanpole that's awesome!!! Eagle River area was mostly cloudy both nights
Privacy for when your dead
We??? Looks like he's working, she's complaining.
We all have a job to do
We paint rocks and put them in there. Normally, we never take anything. This is a geo cache, right ?
Correct. Geocache. Most of them I've seen have a stamp book so you can stamp your find. And you can leave something. - bean
❤ I LOVE cooking in our little trailer!!! Everything tastes better when you're camping!
Me too! I feel so spoiled cooking in our camper but I love it. - bean
He sounds fun to live with
He's a hoot! Loving every minute of it. - beanpole
Let the hair go 😂😂😂 you only got 5 strands .
The passive aggression is wild
Nice camper
Thanks. We're loving it. - beanpole
I thought one of the advantages of having a travel Buddy was help with backing up?
Oh it absolutely is! But I can't do anything about ice or snow - or the fact that his truck lost 4 wheel drive. Despite what you see here, we actually work pretty well together. - beanpole
New subscriber in from SA 🇿🇦🇿🇦. Already loooove the channel 🥰🥰
Thanks. Glad to have you - beanpole
If you guys want to really gain a following on your channel, I would do product reviews on the camping gear you use from time to time. It makes your content searchable in UA-cam’s algorithms. It’s not as fun as making the content you enjoy but it certainly will get you to where your videos start making you money.
Thanks for the suggestion - beanpole
Here in Wisconsin, if you can’t stand the weather, wait 15 minutes!
That’s Wisconsin
😂❤
It was a rough time. I was getting hangry while he was trying to back it in at Coloma.
Turkey just coming back from harassing a police car.
Turkey didn't give a f*ck!!
🎉congratulations! Hope you feel better now.
I'll feel better in 20 years when I can retire.
Your filming and storytelling is captivating my friend!
Thanks. That makes me feel good. - bean
He clearly makes a better model than photographer 😅
😆 of course!
I'm 58 years old, born in 1965 and I still remember in the '70s as a toddler and teenager. Everybody had junk cars in their backyards or a pile of them on their property and it was neat to go get the diamonds from the broken windshields, and sending those cars and smelling that musty smell and just brings back memories of the olden days and I'm looking at this and that's really freaking cool.
It was so cool to check this out.
Outstanding scenery guys, such a lovely trail!
Thanks! I can't believe we never heard of this place before. We'll definitely be back. - bean
😂😂😂
They just kept taking off!
That's My Nut! In a forest of nuts.😂
So they must be siblings!!
Hi. Do you like the inner tent? Can you please advise what is the approx length and width of inner tent for each side of the V shape of inner tent as I am trying to find out if I can fit a queen size bed frame on each side of the V frame.
Love the inner tent. Really helps with condensation. My partner and I use the thermarest cots. I don't know the exact dimensions of the inner tent, but a queen mattress would be too wide to fit two. The cot is 77 inches long and 26 inches wide. We sleep on either side of the V with the cots pretty much ending at the inner point. The curvature of the inner tent really prevents anything wide being practically used inside the tent. A twin mattress I could see working, but I think the queen is just too wide. - bean
That is roomy!
It's like a palace!!
Hey nice table!!! lol
I originally bought it as a solid table to use when hammock camping. Loved it so much I take it whenever weight isn't a factor.- bean
they are our favorite tables, have 2 @@thewookieandbeanpole
That looks like a blast
I'm glad he takes the canoe - bean
When i was a kid my dad took my brother and i to an old abandon cemetary. It was a very wealthy family and they were all buried on the property. Most of the graves were from the early 1800s and the coffin hads collapsed and the ground sunk in on top of them. It was freaky especially since i was like 8-9 and my brother who is 4 years older than me would scare me.
My mother used to take us to cemeteries all the time. I loved looking at the headstones. I've never seen any that had sunken in. That would be cool. - bean
