Long Range Shooting in Surprise Snowstorm - 6.5 Creedmoor VS Pumpkin at 600yds
Took the RPR 6.5 Creedmoor out for some long-range shooting to finish off the pumpkins from the other day. When I got set up the sky started dumping wet sleet on me. Fortunately, the sun came back out and the video turned out great. Enjoy.,

Why I'm Switching to Glock for Carry and Training
Переглядів 1432 роки тому
I'm finally making the transition to Glock for my carry and training gun. It's been a long journey getting here, but I'm optimistic that the decision will help streamline and improve my training and use. I absolutely had a great time and learned a lot with my G2C but it's time to lay it to rest for carrying and move on to something that I believe will help me more overall.

I'm just starting to use airsoft pistol training to supplement my real-world live-fire pistol training when I can't get out to the range, or when shooting live ammo would be impossible (like in the house). It was important to me, though, to find a training pistol that has the same design, shape, and feel as a real Glock 19. Enter... the Umarex Glock 19x green gas model. I recently ran into this...

Good stuff, ive been doin bear creek uppers and psa lowers for several years traditional and side charging uppers. Theyve been awesome, im actually buildin out a rig now, just waitin on parts to get here but its gonna be a 24 inch side charging 5.56 upper on a psa a2 fixed stock lower. Buildin out something like an rpk at home if you will, or American rpk. Ive had extremely good luck with all the rigs ive build usin these brands and have put alot of meat in the freezer with em.

I've done three builds with Anderson stripped lowers and BCA uppers and all are great. More recently I have done two "clone" builds (M16A2 and M4A1) with PSA stripped lowers marked as such and Luth AR barrels (not complete uppers). I am even more satisfied with those! They are consistently more accurate. Though they ended up costing more to build, but still well under $1000. Well under. But the combo of PSA and BCA is a good one and very reasonably priced.

If it runs, it runs! I've got a Colt M4 and a few PSA and Bear Creek Arsenal products and they all run great. All are accurate. For me, I just can't justify spending $3500 on an AR, I'll save the $3000 for ammo or reloading supplies.

I purchased a 7.62x39 upper from BCA sub $200. I bought the Blem PSA lower for $109. $309 plus shipping and FFL on the lower. ~$340 total. BSA upper arrived in 3 days. After several hundred rounds I am thinking "why would someone NOT want to do it this way?". It's shooting 2 MOA groups at 100 yards with a cheap Amazon scope and crappy steel cased ammo. I did buy four boxes of brass soft points that I will use on hogs. Because I bought it from BCA, they send me offers constantly on other caliber uppers, most sub $200. This one has worked so well that I will eventually purchase another 5.56 upper for the PSA lower and maybe a .300 Blackout upper for my 5.56 M&P (which was $600 BTW). Two functional, reliable rifles for the price of one.....sounds like a no brainer.

Pmc will shoot moa from out Howa 1500.......very different twist in your barrel. Your twist is made for your handload bullet weight. You are way out of your twist rate dude. I have a 22-250 with an 8 twist that will shoot 1" groups with 90 gr bullets, but shoots 55gr same as your gun does.......it's all about twist VS bullet weight. Study up and the light bulb will come on, promise.

Good point and perspective on the lower cost brands. I have two PSA AR15's. I bought the first and built the second. AND I get a lot of crap on the interwebs for them. But, like you, I can't see spending so much extra coin to get a "better" name brand. I think people like to shame others, to self justify what they spent on their machines. Plus internet keyboard jockeys just like to be Dbags for fun. In any case, I came to this video, because I am doing a BCA 300 blackout 10.5" upper, on a lower cost lower. Not using PSA lower due to cost +transfer fee, so just using a local FL manufacture lower since it works out less exoensive. I will be testing out the BCA upper on one of my other rifles PSA lowers first. Fingers crossed it runs. Thanks for posting your video.

I too share your point of view ! I have six of these combos and love them, I’ve never had any major issues with these combinations. I could have spent the same amount of money on just one high dollar rifle. But I wouldn’t have 3 separate calibers either. Great video !

From my PSA 11.5" 1/7 nitride the PMC 55gr hpbt is just over MOA at 100 yds. From my PSA A2 20" 1/7 chrome lined it's MOA at 100 yds. From my girlfriend's no name carbine 1/8 it's about 2.25 MOA. The A2 shoots the longer, heavier stuff well too, but I'm sticking with the 55gr. It's consistent.

Once the trigger has broken, hold. Pull with slow increasing preasure, when the rifle fires, hold. Do not release the trigger, hold. When all has settled, then you release the trigger. A folding chair, a small folding table and an inexpensice rest, will also help you achieve greater consistency in your shooting position, hence greater accuracy. Dave & The Girls

I shoot the PMC Bronze a lot. I notice some of my groups open up according to cold or warm bore. I group moa or less with a cold barrel and notice stringing as they warm up. Never do I get that garbage you had for a spread. When your man was shooting, he jerked the trigger and shot pretty fast for a guy that wants to concentrate on accuracy. That being said he did the trigger jerk on the loads but his group was right in there, but he did shoot slower too. All my guns hate 77 gr Sierra. PMC 55 eats its lunch. All my barrels are 1:8, 16, 18, 20" and they all like 52 to 55 gr. go figure.

Great minds think alike. Modularity of the AR15 is a wonderful thing and makes it great for custom set-up even with a complete AR15 purchase or a build. Grips, optics, sites, are a personal choice so it makes sense to build one the way you want it Vs buying a complete AR15 and changing and removing most of the parts, usually the standard ones that we don't like furniture, or installing a Ambi-safety save your money learn how to work on the platform and become very proficient at troubleshooting and maintenance...

Seems like with the pmc he is jerking the trigger a little more than with the hand loads. That plus not being sighted in with that ammo is more than likely the reason the pmc isn’t performing like you thought. I’d try a slower trigger pull and hold the trigger back and slowly let it forward and hold on the reset. You’ll get a more accurate representation of accuracy. Still the hand loads being higher grains will and should outperform the 55 grain pmc
