Wing Chun Structure Sifu Tony Psaila
It feels kinda awkward when fists start flying, all the energy misdirected has a weird feel to it. Sometimes they will almost fall over because you not only redirect the punch but their whole center or balance.
why do these martial art wing chun instructors always fat and out of shape.
wing chun doesnt work
Relaxed hands.. great stuff.. so many vids show WC practitioners with rigid stiff hands and fingers like a karate nukite
Nother great point. Why is this not tought any where else.
Very good point
How you notice fake martial arts...To much talking and unfit so called fighters...more like teletubbies......lol
A Honda Civic driver training people for a formula 1 race.
Why he move like a T-Rex?
relaxed elbow energy
Great exercise 👍🏻
Best over view and explains perfect
Hello, I am interested in your class but i am living in Taiwan. May I ask what is the difference between pivoting from a point further forward from our body and turning from the Centre of the Structure? I have learned to turn from the centre of the structure but it is the first time i pivot from a point further forward and it seems very efficient.
Hey Damien will you be instructing at the AWCF weekend this year?
But doze not work against real boxing. How ever like your show
Lomo does lop sau all the time
Not Gona happen bro
Come on upload just one real fight U have had. Just one .or up load one amiture or pro boxing matches.u want people to believe then prove it
Up load just one real encounter U have had bro. U try this against the big indigenous fellow in the out back of Australia 100 to 150 kilo had a set of gloves on since they were children. Ha U for real . Check out boxing beats wing Chun take 1. Give U a little idea
Up load just one real street fight U have had. This doze not work at all against real boxing. Go try this against the big indigenous fellow guys in the out back .had a set of gloves on since they were children. Get real my friend. Prove it up load some of your fights
I don't know man - maybe it is not meant to be directly applicable in fights but more as a means of teaching the body relaxed balance and concentration. As an amateur boxer / kickboxer for about 10 years now, I used to slander these traditional martial arts for their ineffectiveness both in the streets and In the ring but lately I have come to understand that their purpose might be something completely different than direct combat application.
U like people to believe upload just one real street encounter
You asking this guy to go out and get in a street fight so you can feel better about watching the videos?
U go to the out back of Australia with these big indigenous fellow had a set of gloves on since they are children. U for real man.
U C all these guys have never ever learnt real boxing.there all been sucked in
Whilst I agree with you Jennifer, I self learned boxing in my teens, then did karate and then wing chun for a few weeks in Adelaide in the 1980's. I like wing chun the best for effectiveness and easy to learn. Yes, these guys don't have the level of rock hard fitness in go 3x 3 minute rounds with a boxer, and probably would not catch up with the speed of a fit boxer. If you look at MMA. the best fighters are multi trained, Judo and Boxing/kick-boxing or Russian Sambo/Judo/Boxing. [Fedor Emelianenko] Suggest you watch some of his fights. Wing Chun does have all these elements [grappling, strikes and kicks, but they are all under-developed IMO, plus no fitness training. I only did 6 weeks Wing Chun with Felix Leung in Adelaide in the 1980's before he had moved to Hindley Street, and he taught me some grappling moves. Much easier way to end a street fight without hitting the opponent in the head, and no need for a high level of fitness, but does require strength training for sticking, grabbing and pulling which is not normally part of wing chun training. In his early days, Bruce Lee did strength, speed and endurance study and training after he nearly lost a crucial fight.
Thanks for your in-depth analysis. Its called Wing Chun in the title and not western boxing for a reason. Perhaps you need to go back and watch some more videos and leave the training to others. And when you start harping on about bjj etc they also drill ‘moves’ just like everyone else, its the only way to become good at anything.
Boxers don't throw punches like this. It simply won't work. Go have a few a fight around the aboriginal community in the out back with a few drinks C how well it works for you.just as a thumbs up
How many amiture and pro boxing matches have U had .well just to prove a point
Great faward force.how ever U can not apply this against real boxing. It's just not possible
May be too near
That's actually very good. Of course anything like this sails over the heads of the MMA "crowd." Interesting to see the Biu Ji connections with Laap sau.
Wing Chun and Kenpo are the biggest McDojos. The biggest waste of training time. This stuff won’t save you and will cause delusional confidence. Try this in real life and see what happens.
all Cho's lineage spend their time just like he did all his life not focusing on practicing how to fight , not even one on one. Structure is important , no doubt, but letting it consume your whole life, asking people to touch your hands , arms, playing dummy...that s not goal.
Good idea to use the ball for kicking!
Who taught you this stuff? It’s pretty accurate. I can see your structure and arm working quite well together. Perhaps further refinements will see you find new levels of power. Love it 👍🏻👍🏻❤️
wow! someone who understands Zhong Ding (immovable point in space to root power from and rotate around is not restricted to being inside the body. Very cool stuff you are teaching!
Thanks Jason
Cool to see CST style in action
Flaring elbow. Not as powerful as having elbow sunk
This isn't lap sao...this is...something else. Lap mean grabbing or pulling.vyoure really doing neither in the training drill.
Cool I like Dai sau..I recognize as soon as I seen it...alot of people round the world use a pak sau to the bicep but don't notice the elephant in the room that the fist has not been stopped...Dai sau stops the painful fleshy part of their arm dead in its tracks well still aiming towards the target for a follow-up strike, usig basic structure and geometry...
Is that the wooden dummy from Sifu Jim’s old school in Gouger street? I love that one. Really heavy and great to train ( unnecessarily) hard on. You’re understanding of internal Wing Chun is good. I don’t remember you. Who did you train with?
Thanks for your comments. You spotted that dummy correctly! It is from Gouger St,, its really heavy but has its place in my training. If you don't recognise me from Adelaide maybe you were there before I arrived from Sydney, I worked for Sifu Jim for 12 years and came to run the Adelaide academy in 2003. After Sifu Jim I spent a lot of time training with Albert Chong and now have a club with Tony Psaila.
Great example of good lap sau guys 🙏👍🏻
Thanks
Would’ve loved to have been able to make it to the AWCF camp this year just to learn from him👍🏽
No offence but I could almost guarantee this guy never had a real encounter against a real fighter. But hay what ever makes U happy
There's a big difference between teaching and fighting. Maybe you should learn the difference
Check out boxing beat wing Chun take 1 tell us what you think
Great WC but still almost impossible to pull off against real boxeing
Ask any boxer to face vingrove thomas....most just turn and run away
Difficult to line up, but I agree. I did boxing first, then karate, then went to wing chun, so knew basic styles. Wing chun is short style, where boxing has long range, hooks, and upper cuts for inside fighting. Boxing is the quickest to learn and be good at fighting, but I liked wing chun the best, and learned fight ending techniques not in the forms of Wing Chun from Felix Leung in Adelaide in the 1980's. The key advantage in wing chun IMO is sticking, grabbing and grappling, and most teachers don't show this or know this well enough. The Wing Chun movies never show grappling, because the fight would be over in a few seconds. On so many levels, punching the head is not a wise idea in any fight as it could kill.
Thanks. That’s great Tony. I wasn’t aware at the time how I wasn’t focusing my centre when I moved in quickly. If I was stepping in to strike with my right arm , I used to move my focus to my right side of my body. Lower right abdomen to be precise. Your explanation and my awareness of this has reminded me of just how bad my early training was. Thanks mate 🙏
Great vid man .....
Think u been viewing to many ipamn movies
Do u think that will work against a real pro boxer. The answer is no no no. U cannot get that rotation and lay your hands on a fast boxers arm. Come on Tony. Get real.
That's like saying boxers are not good at fighting because the just punch a bag.
U been brainwashed my friend.
U never did professional boxing so it's not your fault. Go have a boxing match against a real boxing then and only then u will no u have been brainwashed
Your own son broke your knee. Do u think it works. U been brainwashed
Not one person from your establishment has proven nothing. So get off UA-cam u fool.
Come on my friend. Not one person from your organization has prove nothing. So why u on UA-cam. Come on.get off you UA-cam. Stop big notiing your self.when u and your practitioners have prove nothing. May I add .nothing at all .so get off UA-cam
What the hell would you know , where's your video, clean the cheese off your keyboard
Sounds like you have some inadequacy issues. Not everyone studies martial arts because they have a damaged ego and need to prove something. Many train martial arts like this to let go of the ego and for body/mind health. Maybe try and spend some time looking at yourself and figuring out why you need to prove how tuff you are and what's causing you're inadequacy issues.
