My comment was kinda mean spirited, I was pissed off at something when I wrote the comment so I projected my anger in the comment section without much reason. @@Ultraway13 Harakiri is one of the most underrated samurai movies. Kobayashi was master and complete underappreciated. The Odyssey rules. Nolan might be the best for the job if he doesn't try and ground it. I almost said Peter Jackson but he loves his CGI way too much.

So true. Most of the time you can tell when an artist lacks skill so they make up for it by making the audience feel intellectually inferior. Lynch managed to skip that crap. As ambiguous as his films got, he never once got pretentious with it.

Insane to think we don't have a strong enough indie scene for a new Lynch to emerge. It would be somewhere here on UA-cam or streaming service. What did you think of The Straight Story?

@CopaExMachina it's odd from Lynch but it does have some very Lynchian things. It's very sentimental, which I think he's always good at, plus it does have those drawn out quiete scenes he did all the time. Story wise very different from the rest, but I enjoyed it. Plus it's an actual event that kind of interesting.

Grandma liking Lynch = cool. Mom liking Lynch = ew

Massive hit. The title is the marketing campaign.

The Straight Story title is like a quadruple entendre and should have won the academy award for Best Title.
