The company adds more years of contract to workers, so no one can leave the planet. But a bunch of teenagers got a ship and take off in front of everybody. Not that hard to escape it seems.

We don´t get to see Maximus with his wife and son in the first film, but it´s so well constructed and acted by Russell Crowe that we feel the distance, the emotional connection and the pain of his loss.

There's only one way to save this film: compare it to Megalopolis. Because in every way, Coppolla destroys HIS legacy far worse in a movie that cost far more and was incredibly worse.

Ridley Scott has been destroying his legacy for the last 15 years. This movie is just insulting to the original movie.

Washington always has a great presence on the screen but he was miscast in this role. Wrong actor. Besides, the plot was totally ridiculous especially when in less than 2 hours he becomes a Roman Emperor. Comical, to say the least.

*Great Cinematography, great sets, poor plot, poor acting and poor casting. Gladiator 1 was a Wow, Gladiator 2 was a Mnnnnnnnnnnn.* for me anyway.
