A start to finish look on how I built my full 737 800 simulator.
Was this at Melbourne Flight Experience?
Just curious to where you bought the whole front section with the MID, MCU, FMC and glare shield, otherwise absolutely incredible
Is there a website where I can get this?
Wow! Awesome vid and sim. How come you don’t post any new vids?
U and your family member is gr8.no words. Absolutely 💯 dedication and effort nice 👏
Beautiful build! I just watched the making video. Well done! I'd love to follow the channel but there hasn't been much content made. I'll keep an eye out. Again, great job. Cheers.
Amazing indeed..
Amazing job mate I’m not sure if it’s inspiring or makes me want to quit now lol. Really enjoyed your video. Well done
Cheers mate. Dont worry it isnt an easy task, especially custom parts. Just keep going mate. If you ever like giving up, do so for a week or so, do something completely different. Then when you feel that little spark of excitement to continue building, go for it. If these were easy things to accomplish, there would be a lot more around. Good luck buddy
Amazing work gents
Thank you 🙌
How much did it cost for you?
This is not a home cockpit. This is a cockpit home. When can I visit?
For real
"Become an AP: You can afford this" someone told me... how much does this cost?
neat
Nice! I’m from Melbourne aswell. How much would shipping cost for fds?
absolutely fantastic, well done!
This is amazing man what a dream one day soon il pick up a project like this
U will never do nothing
Jesus, that’s amazing, well done!
The work is just crazy
How much does it cost all together and where did you get all of this equipment?
Theres various suppliers, but I believe the cockpit he purchased is from Flight Deck Solutions. All the parts are sold separately. I would estimate anywhere from $60K-$100K+. Depends. Hope this helps!
Can your simulator fly on the VATSIM network and have you ever considered participating in WorldFlight?
I always fly on vatsim. Yes I have flown during world flight. Have thought about joining a team, but never have yet.
Fantastic, I have no words to express how well the cabin of the B737 has turned out, wonderful, I love it and how much work has been put into that project, my goodness, I hope you can enjoy it for many years. Kind regards Jesus Garcia
Hi. Are you able to provide some dimensions for your screens? Thx very much
Congrats on making the news love the sim love following it on FB. Sean
Congrats! Nice to see you here
Cheers matd
Hi Nathan. I watched the news in absolute AWE tonight. I immediately said to my other half: "yeah it's a great sim - but it needs to be on a motion platform". And immediately, the interviewer said you were thinking of moving so you could put it on a motion platform!!!!!! I literally clapped you on the TV!!!!! What you've done is everything I aspire to build. I'm actually a doc by trade, I'm a medical aviation examiner, I have a PPL and love flying, but my dream home project is a motion platform sim!!!!! If I won lotto, I would just pay for someone to build me a full motion platform Concorde simulator, but in reality, I would most likely build an SEA or twin sim +/- smaller jet sim such as a PC24. I currently have a pretty good sim running MSFS20 (multiple problems with upgrades and general BS) and P3D which is a lot more stable. Aiming for 4K HDR 60Hz graphics over 3 x screens, but so many problems, I spend more time trying to fix those problems rather than flying. I'm sure you can sympathise? I just wanted to get in touch and say first of all.... ON YA mate! That is the best frickin home sim I've ever seen - but my question is, how are you going to go about putting that on a motion platform? Apart from the house-hunting - in particular the size of room required to house a full-sized motion platform sim, what sort of additional computing/programming/wiring/fault finding and very approx costs would that involve? I'm sure you get a lot of tech questions, but if you do have a spare couple of mins, I would be so grateful if you could DM me the very basics so I can put in place at least some basic longterm plans to build my own. Also, do you hire out your sim? I'm in Perth, WA and perhaps when I can, I'd love to come over to Melb and check out your setup! Awesome stuff mate. Can't wait to see how you progress! Dave
Haha cheers mate
You made the big time!! 👍🏼👍🏼
Haha. Hopefully the Qantas ambassador john Travolta sees this and I get to meet him.
Impressive, retired Qantas pilot.
Cheers mate. Appreciate it. Follow us on Facebook if you like to see more. Melbourbe 737 project
Well, with a lot of money and nothing like that you can build ...
Just impressive!!! How much money did you spend?
Where did u buy this? can i get a link?
Flight Deck Solutions 👍
l wish this was mine
May i please have the information on the screen and projectors? I am looking into building the same sim but don't have much luck with the screens and don't wanna use tvs. Thx
www.simulatorvisuals.com/ Visit this site mate. All the info you need.
I've seen quite a few impressive b737 home cockpits, but this one blows my mind. You might aswell call this cockpit more realistic than an actual b737. Well not quite. The only part missing is the actual airplane....
Thanks mate
Do you have one computer running all the visuals? What are the specs of the computer(s)?
How much did the whole simulator cost?
Enough
@@melbourne737project5 to buy a used 172 I guess... but cheaper to operate for shure😂
Why did you paint your room black?
Removes reflections around room
But it is not movable
Doesn't need to
@@melbourne737project5 why? I have home setup with good devices, and sometimes i go to movable 737-800. Absolutely different feelings
How much is for the whole FlightDeck??
Wow very impressive!! What if someone who's really terrible at building something like this, can you get some service like people build it for you?
Amazing! What you have built is pretty much what I've always wanted. Nothing extravagant on the outside of the cockpit, as there's no need for real fuselage on the outside where you can't see it, but absolutely functional and beautiful on the inside. Thanks for sharing this. Once I free up a bit a few years from now, I plan on following steps! Cheers!
Could you share what the minimum room size (and height) that is required to get a screen like that to fit? Great build!! Thanks for sharing :)
amazing with best wish👍
Where is it from
I would love to build this one day as well, how much should I expect as budget to put on the side just for the full 737 hardware and software?
around 40000 euros minimum if you want the lot. Just the chairs are 4000 euros each.
Which simulator this?? P3d? Xp11? Mfs??
Hi! Is there any chance you can make a video of the inside of the TQ? Or can say what motors and or IO cards, slip clutch is used? Best regards Jacob
You need a first offcer. I could do that.
For this complete setup not including the building, what would be the rough complete cost for this Setup?
I must know who builds these. Youre in australia i see also. Id love to see one before ordering something from opencockpits. Thing im most sceptical about is projector picture quality
This is amazing, 100% worth a like and sub👍. I might have to make my own home cockpit after seeing this
