If its not set up like the one this video, I am not sure what to tell you. Other than if a rental company finds out you did roadside/emergency service yourself.. you may be in for legal/financial troubles. Any time something goes wrong with a rental, call the company immediately. Most of them are contracted with professional roadside service companies and towing operators.

sit and wait for it to do what it needs to do… basically turn the key to the aux position, wait until that first screen you see disappears… then repeat 2 more times.

if its an electronic parking brake you unfortunately dont have a whole lot of options outside of using dollies or calling for a second rollback/flatbed.

if your battery dies while driving its almost always the alternator and you should be able to coast to a safe position. Any time you lose electric power always trie to coast off the road to a safe place as quickly as possible. Using the technique in this video, you can get the vehicle into neutral and hopefully get help pushing it to safety. If you have no power and no flashers, immediately call for help and do the next steps: If on the highway, get it as far to the side as possible and then stand as far away from the road as you can while waiting for assistance. If there is no place to stand away from the road, stay in the vehicle. This is the most recommended thing to do. If another motorist were to hit you, your airbags should deploy to protect you. If you ever feel unsafe for any reason. call the police. they will hopefully come and be able to control the traffic.

If you have an electronic parking brake, it may be set. Nothing you can do about that until you get power and are able to take it off. If it’s been sitting a long time, your calipers on your brakes may be frozen

its hard to say my friend... because you dont know the origin of the problem to begin with. Could be a sensor, could be the shit mechanism failing because they use cheap plastic, could be you didnt shift all the way into park hard enough when you turned the car off before.... operate at your own risk I would say. One thing I always did was start the car. do the trick, then run the shifter all the way down and up through all the gears making sure i sternly shifted back into park, turn the car off and then try it all over again. sensors and stuff wear down over time and sometimes its a simple as the shifter not recognizing its in park to begin with, Could also be something under the brake pedal or in the pedal mechanism where the vehicle isnt recognizing the brake is all the way down.

Never ever ever transport a rear wheel drive car on the stinger unless it’s on dollies. Transporting in neutral will catch the transmission on fire.

@@gmikehill15 if you don’t have dollies, you can tow a rear wheel drive car backwards. You just need to make sure that you have the steering wheel locked straight in place. Somehow a lot of drivers will use the seatbelt some use the club lol yes those still exist. But with the front wheels, not having a driveshaft or transmission, you can tow the vehicle backwards. You would mainly see this with a pick up truck not really recommended for sedans.

not sure my friend. The shifter wont go back at all? You will notice that you can also see the inhibitor moving when I do the move. Its a little white thing down in the slot where the shifter goes... if you dont see that, you may not be hitting the button correctly. Otherwise if it does move the shifter and it still doesnt roll, does this model have an electronic parking break? Also... your foot should be on the brake when you do this move. If none of that helps it could be a problem with the transmission just being locked up, but I dont really know. The procedure I do in this video has worked a great many number of times for me.

@@Bigpinktowtruck thanks for your reply, I appreciate your response! My mechanic said its a brake pressure sensor issue, turns out rats got to the wiring on it. The brake pedal is essentially cut off from communicating with the rest of the system

@@hereforthepeptalk4418 yeah the thing with rats and mice eating engine cables is a lot more common than people realize. Dont know what it is that they use that attracts them, but I used to see it a lot especially in the summer time.

@rickmaxville893 where your right foot would be while sitting in the drivers seat theres a panel to the right of the gas pedal. youll see a flathead screw keeping that panel on, unscrew that and pop the panel off and then theres a red ribbon. pull that back all the way and it will click and stay in place to put the car in neutral. Not recommended if you are on a hill or cant quickly press the brake to get control of the vehicle. ;)

The rule we always went by was to use it on city streets at speeds under 35-40 miles per hour.

If the car is running and it won’t shift it might be a transmission issue or a bound up cable. If it’s not running and making a clicking sound when you try to start it, the battery could be low or the starter has gone out
