Hi Fred, I am new to this subject, but I've watched around 100 of your videos now. I am no armchair commentator, but something comes to my mind when I listen to your stories. It sounds like you could categorise most of these encounters into 3 types of behaviour. Curiosity / deliberate scare off tactics / stalking with something worse in mind... The middle category is most fascinating (to me), because even though they do throw rocks, they sometimes choose pine cones. This must be a scare tactic, 'I am close to you'. OK, there may not be a rock to hand, but they could throw branches instead of pine cones. They must also know that they have the biggest and most intimidating voice in the forest, and would soon learn when young that everything that hears it, will run or cower? Also, with these cabin stories, they could enter by busting the door down, lift most small roofs, or break down any wall with a tree. But they don't enter? It feels to me that they want humans to choose to leave their territory with a bit of encouragement. After listening to your incredibly detailed stories, I now feel that if I ever visited the forests in Alaska, I could recognise some of their vocalizations and behaviours without even seeing them.

I'm still baffled. I found footprints in several places within a mile and other things with the trees but I figured it had moved on from this particular area. When I realized it might still be there (super nut-shelling this), I wanted to know so started to put out some food and stuff and a recorder and it was there literally 15 seconds after I turned and walked up the hill. How could I possibly not see it?? I was there quite a bit before that and never experienced any aggression of any kind so I wasn't real concerned. Still getting some vocals and other sounds. I've learned some interesting behavior too. I don't go back in the woods very far by myself, just quick in and out behind the hill. I'm skeptical still of "cloaking" but I don't know how else it can be explained. According to its footprints, it should be over 8 to 9 feet tall.

I've always been fascinated since I was a little girl about the subject but I think in all reality I wouldn't want to see one. Other than that, what's terrifying is being stuck somewhere and not being able to get out and not knowing what's going to happen. Also trying to get away knowing that it could take you down if it really wanted to. The thought of trying to outrun one is scary. I've got so many videos to catch up on. Hated missing them weekly but at least now I can sit back and binge watch🎉
