After spending over $2,000 to have repairs done on my vehicle I called the dealership to see if they could simply tell me which fuse I would need to check for my rear outlet. They acted as if it was classified information. The diagram in the manual does not really give a clear picture, but your video was very helpful. 👍🏽

Fix the diesel that’s in it

Mine behaved exactly like this. The cause turned out to be stretch in the timing chain. I advanced the injection pump timing, which entirely solved the smoke issue and returned the engine to normal.

I can’t find any info anywhere. By chance what does blinking green mean? The fuse isn’t blown but it won’t charge and the light blinks green instead of being solid green.

That smoke must have smelled good, delicious. Too bad it was so little, it could have been a lot more. And as long as it smells so good, the amount of poison doesn't matter a damn, as long as it comes out and a lot!

try changing the lift pump or test it using a low pressure electric gas pump to see if the lift pump lost pressure

Put money into the engine the Detroit's aren't that bad if anything LS swap it don't Cummins swap it

advance your injector pump that will help a lot

Go through all of your fuel lines make sure there is no leaks those rubber lines will break down after a while. You can run a clear hose off the injection pump to see if you have air in the system. Usually will be no fuel in the hose when it sits if there is a small leak even the slightest leak

It comes down to two things 1. Head gasket on driver side is bad or the timing of the injectors outing fuel in piston at wrong time and comes out as smoke. In my book it says blue smoke is caused by unburned fuel

I'd do a compression test and make sure you're not throwing parts at a bad motor. I would keep the 6.2 but i'm an IDI fan.

Thanks for sharing what you have learned with others! I have a 2004 passenger 158" HT with a non functional booster and aux hydronic heater for the "cargo" area that I am going to delve into. Previous owner purposely kinked the line after the aux water pump died.

My ‘84 K2500 diesel (bought new, now at 275,000 miles), recently started blowing some white smoke. Turned out to be a faulty thermostat. I replaced the thermostat with a Gates 190 degree and the smoke stopped.

Hey, thanks for this video. I bought a 05 Sprinter last week and realized just today that it is equipped with the heater booster. My original plan when purchasing the van is to convert it to a camper. I have another van into which i installed a Chinese diesel heater but this factory booster heater might just do what I need. Have you considered rewirering it to be independent of the van’s design and run out of the “house” battery ?

With the smoke it’s blowing out it probably has a blown head gasket. You should Cummins Swap it

I’m pretty sure you have a cracked ring on the drivers side bank. The one side smoke is a dead giveaway. I had a 454 that did the same thing. Smoked real bad out of the passenger side. Did a compression test and saw that cylinders 4 and 6 had a low reading.
