Thank you for your great comparism! There is actually one difference more for the neck. The standard has a thin lacquered neck while the RS is „unfinished“ means oiled and waxed. For that reason the RS feels a bit smoother, more natural. I have also both (the RS as a Cutlass and the Stingray exactly in the same red) and I like also both necks from the feel. But besides that, the neck shape is quite different between the Cutlass and the Stingray.

I have a few questions, can it take a guitar that is tuned to e standard and take it down to drop b or a, I really want a hard tail guitar but i want the whammy bar for dive bombs and tricks, does it give a whammy drop for those tricks?

So this thing can tune up, too? 😅 Sure, capos are a thing, but a) they require retuning and b) they shorten your scale length. Which is probably why I’ve never seen a metal band use a capo on any of their riffs - even though I do know a hard-rock song that was recorded in F minor, clearly using the open E string (Ten’s “The Name of the Rose”). So I assume they actually tuned up for that one? Because it was recorded back in the 90s, when this pedal certainly didn’t exist yet.

For amp with different channels a very nice addition to es-5 is a voodoo lab control switcher, that can transform any amp and add midi control rather via a custom made cable (midi DIN5 to Marshall DIN 6, to Mesa DIN7) or via four 1/4 standard mono jack outputs. Very nice unit check it out ;)

I'm still a beginner. I have just completed my first year on electric guitar and bass guitar. But I already have 5 electric and 2 bass guitars 🙃 Two of my electric guitars are Floyd Rose and one is Evertune. To be honest, I haven't gotten into the technical side of guitars yet. So I have always used my Floyd and Evertune guitars in E standard songs, but I have always wondered about their performance in other tunings. I ordered Whammy DT today and I'm super curious about its performance now. If I can use my guitars in such as D standard, Eb standard just with this pedal, this will be among the most legendary products I have ever purchased.

I finally got it to work almost perfectly, but if you're a fellow user out there tearing your hair from trying to route this, you're not alone. I had to do four things to get this to work: 1) In Kontakt 7, you need to be in side pane view. If you're in single view and you press "view", you won't get the option to show the outputs. 2) If you're running Rosetta, you may have to disable it. No matter how much routing I did while running Logic in Rosetta mode, Kontakt kept sending all the drums to out 1/2, and on top of that I sometimes got no sound. Just odd. 3) Although there are eight channels, I had to create 9 outputs and skip the one called St 2. The kick won't route to anything but St 1, St 2 is never snare no matter how much I insist on sending it there, so I've skipped St 2 and sent the snare to St 3, which works fine. 4) Click the !-button, like...a lot! Even when restarting the instance, Kontakt sometimes reverts back to another number of outputs than what I've just created. Sorting out this headache took me about 2,5 hours. I hope it goes faster for you!

One use that made me go out and get the Whammy DT (and Drop pedal as backup) was playing in a group where we had a piano player who also sang primary vocals-there were numerous instances when a particular song was easier for him to sing in a different key, capoing was an option, but loooooved this use far better with Whammy DT- even put letter of the key above each down shift LED as it would be starting from standard tuning, changing the key, the song was no problem at all

I love all Ernie Ball instruments! I would like to see more bass videos as well. I'm not suggesting you buy them, but if you see one in a shop and they will let you demo one, that would be cool. I am especially interested in a Moolon bass, J or P, and a Dingwall 5-string multi-scale.

I love what this pedal does. But I use the Line 6 HX Effects to do the same stuff. Does the same job, does it just as well ever since they polyphonic update after a former Digitech designer joined Line 6 and it costs more or less the same and does WAY more.

Is it possible to use a loop switcher with only modulation pedals through the effects loop and not connect any of the front end pedals?
