This is an awesome song. Did you know that this song actually evolved from the dmb song "Hold Me Down"? This isn't even the first time Dave has done this. I can think of several songs on Some Devil I would replace with this one. It's a real shame this didn't make the album.

I always wanted to fly vipers. Less than perfect eyesight though, (about 26 years ago). But, have been up a couple of times for fam rides, the first in 2006 out of Luke, the rest at Nellis. Was something else, and pretty neat that I have a log sheet. Chamber card expired Halloween of ‘10 or ‘11, and never flew again. But was a blast when able to. Was ably to fly ACM (least favorite, was also first time up). Also got to try OCA/SEAD, a little DCA, and some TI. Too cool! Enjoyed the vid!

Would have been the best song on the album. Artists tend to overthink themselves into making bad decisions. Its one of the best songs he ever wrote and a thousand times more than anything they are writing now.

Unbelievable this didn't make the album. Who's decision was it to cut the song? Dave? If you go by Lillywhites word Dave makes decisions then has the label get in his head to make the decisions that they want especially in Away from the world. Dave and Steve edited songs agreed on everything then the studio changed Dave's mind and they haven't communicated since. Lillywhite wasn't happy with the new edits. Cigarette lit also might be one of Dave's best vocal performances ever and I really do mean that this song is absolutely fit for his voice his range and he sings it beautifully he absolutely nails it on the album

Hearing Hold Me Down in the outro was soul-crushing at the time. . .knowing it'd probably never be played again.

That was nice to see and hear. Two guy's having a great flight by knowing that they both know the other has fun. As a Falcon BSM simulator enthusiast I see and hear things that I really recognise. That's nice. But man.... I am an realy jealous. I never get the opportunity to fly with a F16. I haven't experienced true jealousy since I was in my late teens... But now, I'm wondering if a 50 year old can take an incentive flight. My wish list would include flying an F-16 in an unrestricted climb to 10k, pulling G's just short of getting us in trouble with maintenance and getting to drop a training bomb CCIP onto a training target. Maybe a bomb toss if we had time. If DCS had been a thing when I was 12 years old, I'd be a career Air Force guy right now.

Incentive flights are usually one time thing. There for you should request HELL when the dude with the shades asks what you want to do. For starters 5 min of 5.5g or higher with no breaks. and the goal of the day is to fill up all the puke bags.
