Protective to me is leaving my hair ALONE between washes, and being able to wash often. For me that’s rollersets (wash every 1-2 weeks) and mini twists (wash every 2-4 weeks)…and also styles that don’t cause any breakage. I loved braids, sew ins, and etc….but those just kept me from having to style my hair, they weren’t protective (retain length and density…)

I always say that you're in a partnership with your hair. You can't be the only one happy in the partnership. Your hair communicates with you. You just gotta listen to her when she speaks

You so gorgeous girl! This is also my resolution, I did a BIG chop and kept braids in for almost 2 years. My hair hasnt yet got back to my ideal length but who cares I want to play with my hair now.

Girl you went way back with that closure hahaha and you made it look so good. U r such a pro. I've never one time colored my hair in 56 years. Is that weird? I just got like 4 grey hairs this year. My big chop Jan 2024 plus my 6 months straight no poo no water then sebum spreading with no poo has turned my hair into silk and gold it's so swingy and shiny, and no more dry crispy ends and I am just having so much fun with it, sebum spreading has changed my 4z life! Have I considered doing a 7n balyage? (can you tell I'm trained in cosmetology hahaha yep, a beauty school DROPOUT hahahah) Yes I have, but I'll do it when my hair finally gets to be long and luscious like your hair. I did get to my shoulders since my 5 inch big chop after 1 year so now my hair is about 9-10 inches. It was at arm pit and I had bad breaking Brazilian Keratin treatment breaking off ends so I cut it all last jan, u remember. Doesn't time go by so fast? Feels like it was just yesterday.

Why am I only seeing this after washing my hair?😢

Don't ever let your hair become dry. That's not natural!

I just watched a lady from 2011. She used a prepoo or very ripe / soft avocado, then let it sit for 1 hr under cap, then washed it w castille soap, then conditioned w egg yolk, vegetable oil, and a splash of lemon juice... let that sit an hour, thenbwashed again w castille soap, then blow dried. It looked smoother and very conditioned, soft, and shiny. I, however, will continue my perms. My extremely 4F Extra thick hair is the MOST high maintenance item i own. Im a teacher, LMS admin, and nursing student. Aint nobody got time for self care until summer break and winter break 😂😂😂😂.
