I wear glueless wigs and I wear my braids underneath for 6-8 weeks at a time. I wash and deep condition while in the braids once a week. First generation Canadian , from a Jamaican family. My mom relaxed my hair young. In highschool I started watching UA-cam videos about 2009. I stopped relaxing my hair and my length and texture pleasantly surprised me. I’ve been natural since. I convinced my mom to not relax my younger sister and her hair was thick and shoulder length. When I moved out she relaxed her hair and it broke off and her edges are damaged. My sister turned 16 and now she cut off the relaxer and trying to regrow her hair. Full circle lol. I will never be putting creamy crack in my future daughters hair ❤

Yall i have a dilemma someone help please! 😅 according to stylists my split ends are pretty bad, according to myself, i feel like my hair looks good. It’s full, very thick and almost bra strap length since going natural for about 18 months. My stylist recommended trims every 6-8 weeks, but before my natural hair journey i didn’t see any retention when i was consistently getting trims. I definitely see the split ends when my hair is straight but it doesn’t look bad and even stylists always compliment me on how my hair looks healthy and thick when they straighten it. But I’ve been hearing how your hair can fall off if you don’t get consistent trims? I only got one very small trim this year and that was it😅 and i don’t see a problem at all with length retention. Is trimming your hair worth it? I am deciding to at least get trims every 3-4 months a little at a time to get rid of these split ends.
