This channel serves as our memory lane, a reminder that adventure is essential in our lives.
We are a family of three in the service. We move around a lot, but Tennessee is our home.
Inspired by our son, Max, we are passionate about storytelling based on his overland adventures on less-traveled roads wherever that next duty station will lead us.
We are less focused on monetary gains or clicks. We care more about connecting to a community of like-minded people, hoping that one day, we may share a campfire with you along the trail.
Thank you for riding along!

Adding Constant Power to Auxbeam Switch Panel | 5th Gen 4Runner
#auxbeam #4runner #maxdexpeditions
This is not a how-to video and I am not a certified mechanic. I am simply sharing my experience on how I powered my Auxbeam switch.
Connecting a fuse tap is the most popular way to power the Auxbeam Switch panel. I originally wired the Auxbeam into our daytime running lights.
I recently installed two C1 pods from Diode Dynamics to serve as a quick way to light up camp. After a long drive searching for a campsite, the last thing I wanted was to keep the vehicle running and hear the combustion from the engine. But Since I have the switch panel wired to my DRL, I either have to leave the engine running or switch to the accessory mode to use my aftermarket lights.
To correct this, I have to wire the Auxbeam directly to the battery, and I included a switch so I can use my offroad lights on demand without having to turn on the vehicle.
The only drawback of this setup is that you might end up depleting your starter battery, especially if you have kids who like to push buttons. Moreover, we do not have a dual battery setup.
Here is everything I used for this install.
I purchased everything in this video from Amazon.
Wiring harness: Lasfit Wiring Harness 2 Leads 14AWG fit for Pod Lights OEM Style Switch: iztor Blue LED Multi-Purpose Switch for Toyota Butt Connectors: Sopoby Self-Soldering Heat Shrink Ring Terminals: TICONN 120Pcs Heat Shrink Wire Connectors Tesa Tape: 51036 High-Performance PET Cloth Automotive Wire Harness
I hope this video will give you an idea that will work for your particular setup.
Thanks for riding along!

#Overland #Camping #Hawaii #MaxDExpeditions #oahulife Our schedule in Oahu, Hawaii, has been hectic! While we still spend time together as a family, we often leave the camera behind to fully immerse ourselves in the moment. In this video, we explored Waimea Falls. While some say that beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, we felt that Waimea Valley is quite commercialized. It resembled a commun...

#overland #camping #hawaii #novsight #maxdexpeditions Cross-country trips, camping in remote locations, and exploring unmarked trails are a thing of the past now. At least for the next three years while we live in Oahu. In Hawaii, everything is just a piece of commodity, meaning everything has a price. I am not surprised since it is the most visited of the Hawaiian Islands, and business here is...

I am not a mechanic or a certified automotive electrician, so this is not intended to be a how-to video. I am simply sharing my experience installing my Wolfbox G900 dash camera on a 2020 4Runner. This is not a sponsored video. I just like how the Wolfbox seamlessly integrates as if it was installed from the factory. I installed the rear camera under the spoiler, which I believe is the best pla...

#overland #camping #storytelling This is the second part of our overland travel following the Smoky Mountain 1000 trail. This was day 4, filmed on June 12, 2023. For camp number 3, 12 hours of driving took us to the Spivey Cove Campground.
