Emerson Heat Fan 36" Industrial Ceiling Fan, Model HF-336 (c.1981)
Brown finish with brown fiberglass blades. Manufactured in 1981. This fan is also known as a "blender" fan, due to the design of the canopies. Uses the K55 motor. Speed control is via a wall control. Blade pitch is 13 degrees. Uses the"blender" canopy; uses a J-hook in tandem with a 4" octagon box to mount the canopy. This fan utilizes fiberglass blades; only the earliest K55 variants use fiberglass, as later ones use woodgrain plastic.
For the purpose of testing, I used a FanSync Bluetooth receiver.
Performance is excellent; however performance with the FanSync receiver leaves a bit to be desired. Low speed is perfect, but medium hits a resonant frequency. The medium speed capacitor needs to be lowered.

TAT 36" Spinner Ceiling Fan

Model CFA2PC. White/polished brass finish with white blades. Manufactured in the early-mid 1980s. Uses a ball/socket mounting system with a cast aluminum mounting bracket. Motor is stamped steel. Uses a 3-speed pullchain. Older variants of this fan use a bell canopy and cast iron motor. One thing worth noting is that this fan appears to have been new sans packaging, as the pullchain is still sh...
Silkon 52" Ceiling Fan
Переглядів 1,3 тис.10 місяців тому
Antique brass finish with teak blades. Manufactured in the early 1980s. Uses a 3-speed pullchain. Motor is stamped steel. I'm thinking the OEM is either Air Cool or Halsey, as the fan uses a speed coil for the secondary speeds. Needless to say, this fan is bizarre. Aside from using stamped steel spinner irons, it uses a spinner motor that is also tapped for top-mounted blade irons. Silkons are ...
Carroway (CEC) 52" Hugger Ceiling Fan
Переглядів 1,1 тис.10 місяців тому
Antique brass finish with cherry blades. Manufactured for Carroway by CEC in the early 1980s. Uses a 3 speed pullchain. Motor is cast iron, with their signature golden olive paint. One thing that makes this fan stand out is the filigree on the sideband; it mimics the same pattern found on globe light fitters. This is one of the earlier examples of a hugger fan. Performance is.....mediocre. The ...
Southern Breeze (Air Cool) 36" 3-Speed Industrial Ceiling Fan
Переглядів 1,5 тис.10 місяців тому
White finish with white steel blades. Manufactured by Air Cool for Southern Breeze in the early 1980s. Uses a 3-speed pullchain, non-reversible. This is what can be best described as a Florida fan. The southeast region of the US is known for having a very hot and humid climate; meaning, fans are a necessity. However, a lot of fans were also expensive. The solution? a bare bones no frills indust...

Переглядів 2,3 тис.Рік тому
Brown finish with brown aluminum blades. Manufactured for Encon by Crompton Greaves between the late 1970s and 1982. Motors and blades were sold separately, allowing for a plethora of combinations. The motors came in 3 and 4-blade, normal and light kit adaptable, normal and reversible (although I doubt the 3-blade motors were ever reversible). Blades came in 42", 48", and 56" for all blade type...

In 1988, The Zephyr and various other 4-blade only models were made to be 4/5-blade. Blade pitch is 20 degrees. Uses a 4-speed pullchain. The XTR Panama was nothing more than a marketing gimmick. Performance compared to the XLP/stack motor version was only marginally better, as the steep blade pi...

Gray finish with gray blades. Manufactured by Halsey in the late 1980s for Murray Feiss. The Colorific Fan was Friss's chameleon fan of the late 80s/early 90s. It's essentially a builder fan that came in multiple weird finishes. Performance is about what you'd expect from a builder fan: Mehhh... but hey, the color is different.

My 4E-3LW does that, but it doesn't need to be broken in i think it's just junk. Takes for ever to get up to speed on low, it has a random Lutron 3 speed control and not the original.

Seems like medium is slower than high but just a tiny bit. Also there is a large difference between high speed and 15uf capacitor, if this motor used 9uf or 10uf capacitor. So I'm pretty sure it wouldn't burn out the motor on medium with this receiver, it's simply lower capacitor than what the motor is made for, just for being 36" instead of 52".
