Encon (Crompton Greaves) High Breeze 56" Industrial Ceiling Fan

Brown finish with brown aluminum blades. Manufactured for Encon by Crompton Greaves between the late 1970s and 1982. Motors and blades were sold separately, allowing for a plethora of combinations. The motors came in 3 and 4-blade, normal and light kit adaptable, normal and reversible (although I doubt the 3-blade motors were ever reversible). Blades came in 42", 48", and 56" for all blade types, wood and metal. This is the industrial flavor of the High Breeze, which is not particularly common.
Performance is excellent, as expected. The motor is surprisingly torquey. The bearings are evenly worn, making the spindown time surprisingly long. For the purpose of testing, I used a Nutone 4-speed wall control rated for 1.5 amps. Performance with this control is pretty good overall, although the medium high speed could be a slower.
