May-Thurner Syndrome on a CTA (CT angiogram)
This video explains the basics of May-Thurner Physiology and explains how to determine if someone has May-Thurner Physiology in the axial, coronal, and saggital views on a CTA (can also use the same techniques for a regular CT scan). This particular CTA scan belongs to someone who was ultimately diagnosed and stented for May-Thurner Syndrome. A follow-up CT scan shows what a stent looks like in all three views. The stent is a 16 mm x 150 mm Abre stent. The follow-up CT scan also shows what a clotted stent looks like in the axial view.
A REMINDER: ~25% of the population has May-Thurner Physiology. Most don't have symptoms. It only becomes a syndrome if you *also* have symptoms consistent with the syndrome. Symptoms can affect the left leg only, right leg only, or both legs. Up to 40% of MTS cases occur bilaterally (both legs).
This video was made by me, the patient. These are my scans. I am not a medical doctor or a radiologist. Please read and listen to the medical disclaimer at the beginning of the video.

      Yea, so that was a goof up on my part. I had started punching holes before I drew the 2" diameter circles. I dont use the holes inside the circles. I will use them if they fall on the boundary.

    How good is it at removing bad odors such as cooking smells?

    • @ThePanickedDiaries
      @ThePanickedDiaries 3 дні тому

      That I unsure of, and have not tested. It does turn on when I peel an orange or open an alcohol wipe, so there is some sensitivity there in detecting smells. And it detects them when I am pretty far away (>10 ft). But I also have a fan in the same room circulating the air too, which I am sure also aids in the detection.

    My prescribe insists it must be muscular . I don’t like IM . cuz I have sciatica and it irritates it . They said the volume of the shot was too much for subcutaneous. Could someone split the dose and just do 2 subcutaneous injecting? Thank you ❤

      I've been doing subcutaneous injections of B12 with 1 mL for 2 years now, with no problems. And yes, you can break it up into two injections. Only issue is you are going to run out of injection sites faster, especially if you are injecting frequently. Make sure you properly rotate your injection sites to minimize scar tissue formation.

      Can be done subQ or IM. See the the 2:30 minute mark of the preparing a B12 injection video. Bottles state either one is acceptable. ua-cam.com/video/x5bKB6jILno/v-deo.htmlsi=q40JZOS6nPKcLkDN What you decide to do, comes down to preference. Some people feel best w/ one method over another.

      @@ThePanickedDiaries I guess you have to fill up an insulin syringe to get 1ml right? Is that little needle long enough?

    • @ThePanickedDiaries
      @ThePanickedDiaries 11 місяців тому

      @@kloozman You can fill up larger syringes to get 1 mL as well. When I first started, I used 25 guage 1-inch needles. (i was doing thighs only, IM). Those were 3 mL syringes, but I only injected 1 mL. And yes, this needle is more than sufficient. And is appropriate for me for SC into stomach. Get a little bit IM in thighs depending on location. Deltoid this length is IM for me.

      @@ThePanickedDiaries do you get any side effects? I did mine this morning and feel dizzy and anxious

    • @ThePanickedDiaries
      @ThePanickedDiaries 11 місяців тому

      @@kloozman Initially when I started doing injections, I would get extremely anxious and sometimes a little light-headed. But I also had a little bit of a needle phobia going into all of this. I do have a video on safe positions to inject in if you find yourself getting anxious or dizzy doing injections. It's also a good idea when starting to remain lying down after the injection for several minutes until the feelings pass. As you continue, the anxiety over injecting should subside. It's hard to stick yourself with a needle.

    • @ThePanickedDiaries

      Yes, I do have some videos on how to map out thigh sites. Unfortunately I'm very unwell right now due to another chronic condition, so I haven't been in a position to edit it and upload. But I will try to describe it. It you look down at your thigh, break it up into four quadrants. Draw a vertical line down middle from knee to groin, then a horizontal line about halfway up the thigh. You want to stay in the upper outer quadrant. Within that upper outer quadrant, you want to stay a hand width down from the groin. I tend to stay more where the thigh rounds over to the side at the upper outer quadrant. The lower you go, the more it hurts (for me at least). Hope this helps! You can also google subcutaneous injection sites thigh. They might show lower sites but I have found it best to stay towards the top.

    Out of the videos I watched, I like this demonstration the best. But during the injection itself the camera was a bit far I couldn't tell what was happening exactly. Were you pushing the needle in slowly or did you do it fast but were bracing yourself initially?

    • @ThePanickedDiaries
      @ThePanickedDiaries Рік тому

      I pushed the needle in slowly. You can also do a faster poke if you wish (a dart-like motion). I prefer a slower insertion so I can control needle depth in areas where I have less fat (combined with the 45 degree injection angle).
