    Hi i know this is an old post and hoping you reply before i undertake this task, 07 rolla i need to replace the raditor support. My question is how many screws did you use jnstead if spot welds and where? And are they screws or bolts?

    • @investinurself3445
      @investinurself3445 Місяць тому

      Yep it's been awhile if I remember correctly it was like 25-30 spots and they were spot welded, so all of them needed drilled out and replaced with bolts of I think 3/8". At least on the holes I drilled out. My drill bit was a tad bit smaller than 3/8". I hope this helps and good luck, it wasn't fun but it did save me a lot of money

    My belt came off one pulley, but I put it back on on my husk Varna zero turn on the drive pulley Z254F but I’m having a problem. It will not go forward our backwards. What’s the problem?

    • @investinurself3445

      Was it the blade belt (big belt) or the drive belt (small belt)? I know if it's not moving then it should be issues with the drive belt (small) make sure it's on all pulleys (if I remember correctly it's 4 totally pulleys ( 1 in the back from the engine (clutch pulley), one on each transmissions and a tensioner pulley) if it's all on all of them correctly then check the tensioner spring (between the seat and engine). Hope some of this info helps.

    1 year since I bought mine, just put on new blades yesterday. Awesome, the ones I took off were in horrible shape, we have sandy soil here in the Colorado Springs area and it eats away the blades when mowing. I reallly like my Z254F special edition. I baby it and keep it in the garage. I live on 5.5 acres of grass, property set up for horses but I dont have any animals at all.

      That's awesome, it took about 2 years before I got my horses, which helps a little bit on the grass. I am glad you are loving it, I still love mine also. I on the other hand don't baby it much, it's a work horse for me and even though I had to replace some things on it, it still does an awesome job. My youngest daughter is using it (she is 10, but started using it at 6). It's been good to me that's for sure. Thanks for the comment and letting us know how you like it.

  • @johnnixon7750

    Hi there, I have been ccomparing my Z242 with yours and I would say that the spring should be fitted to the opposite side and that you re-route your belt around the idler the other way. The groove in the floor where the bolt sticks up is curved forward so the spring can pull the idler further forward and tight on the right hand side. I have noticed this on several of these Husqvarna Zero Turns on UA-cam . I saw one vid where the bolt holding that spring had worn almost right through by the spring and was ready to break. He replaced the bolt and slid a piece of garden hose over the bolt and then fitted the spring over the hose. I went and did the same to my mower even though it was still new at that time, preventative maintenance. Any way, keep up the good vids. Cheers from down here in New Zealand.

      I appreciate the comment, as for the spring being on the other side, I'll have to look at the video again I might have been recording using my front facing camera on my phone. If so it inverts whatever you are recording and if that's true then you are correct on where the spring should be connected. I greatly appreciate the words of encouragement at the end and ill do my best thanks so much for the Love.

    Sounds like you need a commercial mower. 359 hours of mowing in 3 years is way too much for a residential mower unless you want to buy a new mower every 3-4 years. Stop mowing 3 ft tall grass with it. Remember, right tool for the right job.

    This is probably a very stupid question, but can you use a hover board charger for these? I found one of these selling for very cheap & i wanna buy it to take it as a small project. I have a hoverboard charger that used to be the one my brother would use to charge his hoverboard. The charger looks exactly like the one these use but i wanna be sure. I wanna know if it will work on these even if it charges the pocket bike slow or if i would need to buy a new one for it to be able to be charged

    • @investinurself3445
      @investinurself3445 3 місяці тому

      I know they look the same but not sure it they would work. I would say see what the charging voltage info is on the hoverboard and then see online what it is for the bike. I've never tried but worse case you can get chargers for cheap (like $15). Sorry I don't have a definite answer for you, but just doing a fast search and it looks like the pocket bike is a 24v and the hoverboard is a 42v so will it work? not sure.

I know it will stay running if blades are off, my issue is it doesn't run long, basically bc my steering arms are still tight so after 10 seconds the arms pull back in enough to turn it off. It's more of me needing to loosen a spring I think. Maybe one day. Thanks for the feed back and comment, I'm glad you're enjoying yours as well.

      @investinurself3445 that's heavy right on man. I picked up a 46" it's got the Briggs/husky engine which is OK. Would have preferred a kawi or even Kohler. The reason I was trolling ye is because I'm experiencing some issues with the steering arms- right one is finicky and doesn't seem to have the radius or smooth movements that the left one does. Also the throttle after running it for a while if you try to throttle down before shutting it off it doesn't drop revs. Any advice? I'm going to go through what you're talking about in your video.

    • @investinurself3445
      @investinurself3445 4 місяці тому

      @ProteusOmnipotens-ov8oo I'm not sure if it was new or used but I would assume used or it has some time ran, as for the throttle I would say that sounds like the carb needs cleaned or the wire that adjust the throttle needs adjusted. For the arm being kinda weird I couldn't really tell you. Could just need some lube on something or even the joint is bent to some degree, that would need some more looking into. Hopefully this helps to some degree and sorry I can't be more helpful but without it being in front of me it's hard to say.

    Probably the worst mower I ever owned. In the same cutting I have bucking bronco and Tokyo slide.. It’s hard to even get it out of the garage without it bouncing around. Took it back to a place to work on it and they said “ nothing wrong “ …. Well crap……

      I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I've had mine for almost 5 years with about 460 hours and it's still doing great. Matter of fact I did a bit of maintenance on it and it's running better than ever

      Great, I replaced them thinking it was the transmissions but it was a loose belt. They have worked great, tires slip a little bit but that's it. I have over 500 hours on it now

    That was painful to hear. Sorry man. We have all pissed money away working on cars mowers excetra. Could you not had found a zero turn with a bad deck or motor. Most all of these type of mowers only use a couple different size drives. Most are all made by MTD. Not to rub it in but I bought this mower in a 2 blade 46 used that said needs belt and battery sold as is. it was at a local farm center. So I told him if I bought a battery and it starts and moves I will take it. I knew getting the deck going was going to be not near as expensive as a drive. It started right up and I look at the hour meter and it said 4.5 hours. Some dude bought it new and hit something it broke a spindle bent a blade and then it would never restart. It was new so he took it back and they sent it to a local repair shop to fix the motor. I guess the sudden dead stop sheard the key shaft on the flywheel and it was out of time. So the fix it but they kept it all winter before getting to it. They kept it outside. A new mower just left it in the rain and snow for about six months. The nex spring the dude was ready to get his mower back and when they pulled it around and it was weathered he said I am not taking that it was brand new. SO some how the gave him a new mower and this one was suppose to went back on warranty but never did. So 2 years later the farm center manager just wanted it gone and put it out front with a sign. $200 As is need blade belt and battery. So I grabbed it up lightning fast. I had to put a spindle on it and new blades but the belt was good but the tension spring was missing. So I got a almost new 2021 z246 for less than $350.

    Is the transmission very slow or would you say pretty good in speed and power (i think it's zt 2200 right)?

    • @investinurself3445
      @investinurself3445 7 місяців тому

      It's an ezt 2200 I'm pretty sure and as for the transmissions, they are ok. With me loving to race cars it's not fast for me but for a mower it's not bad. The speed keeps up with the cutting blades so im good with it. Now if you are asking does it have the speed of the $10+ commercial mowers, the answer is no but does okay. Hope this helps and thanks for the comment.

    dont be washing your equipment with water especially on the deck, it ruins the bearings

      also moist grass is harder on the deck belts

      Thanks for the info, I'll have to look into that. They have a water hookup to clean it so that's a little new for me. Moist grass I'm sure is harder on the deck, most of the time when I do cut damp grass it's bc my allergies are kicking my butt and don't want the dry grass all in my face. Thanks for the comment and i hope you have an awesome day.

    Bought an older 48" cut, used, some years ago. It started not going forward. Found the idler spindle frozen to the idler arm for the drive belt. Disassembled, cleaned and reamed out the idler arm hole to .001" over. Lubed, reassembled and no more problems.

      I am not a mechanic, bc if I was this would be my project mower on blocks. Lol just kidding. But I'm not a mechanic at all but I'm like most people, I need stuff done/fixed but can't afford the prices these other places are charging for these..... along with vehicles so I look at it as a time to learn something new. Thanks for watching.

    I suggest anyone who lives on any kind of incline and has this mower to invest in studded tractor or off-road ATV style tires. "Turf saver" tires are already prone to slipping and the hydros on this particular mower are not very good at easing on the power. These 2 things combined with any type of incline and you will do far more damage to your lawn from constant slipping with turf savers than you ever will running tires with an aggressive tread. Keep in mind though that there is very little clearance between the body and the stock tire so if you want to go any wider you'll need some kind of spacer.

    I've had very similar problems with my Zero turn Husqvarna. The right side often barely works. Seems OK for the first 10 minutes or so. Local dealer said sometimes air gets into the hydraulics! Thanks for this info re the spring. It has been missing badly so yesterday I took the fuel tank off and drained it and checked the line to the engine. Lo and behold it had clogged with dust etc that had gotten into the fuel tank.
