I don’t exactly know how I got onto your video but as soon as you said I’ll start drinking to be funnier that equals subscribe from me that was the funniest thing I’ve heard all day
I got one of these 2 weeks ago, mowed my 5.5 acre horse property that has no horses. it did great, the pastures had not been cut all summer, were 2 ft tall grass and weeds. Had to make two passes in the deep stuff but the whole place looks like a lawn now. Engine is very powerful, I have the Kawasaki.
That's awesome thanks for the comment.
Im buying mine monday thanks for the review!
No Problem, thanks for watching and dropping a comment
Good video - straight to the point, no drinkin required (but I'd watch that, too!)
Torn between this and the Ego 42" Z6...
I bought one completely like that one and l just love it.
The blades that come on it are very thin. Put different blades on it when you do your maintenance.
Thanks for the advice and the comment
I just got 1 yesterday.. can't wait to get started..
Thanks for doing this review and this seems like a good mower!!
THanks for the review, i found it helpful.... you can’t please ppl, just do your thang and ppl will watch or move on. You can be a youtube baron if you make this your full time job otherwise not worth the attention to complainers
Thanks for responding and for the positive input.
So,in the three years since this video, how have the drive motors held up? Just curious.
Great, I replaced them thinking it was the transmissions but it was a loose belt. They have worked great, tires slip a little bit but that's it. I have over 500 hours on it now
Thanks for the follow up video!
Hello Rob iam thinking about buying one of these mowers, i have a 3 quater acre flat yard, do you recomend them.
Thanks for the question. In my opinion I think it's a really good zero turn for the money (you can usually find them on sale). I have 5 acres and I still like mine and I have 177 hours on it. Hope this helps.
Good luck finding tires that grip better on wet grass. You said you mow when the grass is still damp and that's why those tires don't grip well on slopes. Let us know if you find tires that do grip well on wet grass.
I have the Z242F and have the same issue with tires also do u have any issue with the steering or one of handle floats up and shuts off mower
Not usually but it's not saying it doesn't happen. I've never really noticed. I'll try to pay attention to that in the future. Thanks for the comment
According to the manual should change engine oil and filter after first 8 hours then after that every 100 hours.
That hit me too when he said I have 108 hours on it and have not done any maintenance. I thought maybe he was being tongue and cheek when he said he that. It’s important to get the breaking oil out at or about the time given in the manual (8 hrs) because there will be metal fragments that can damage or excessive ware the engine in the oil in the first oil change. Just saying.
I'm currently researching mowers, looking at zero turn styles...Accordingly I've read from multiple sources that these types of mowers slip easily on sloping terrain, so it's just the physics of the mower and likely nothing to do with your tires.
Probably right but why not get some meaty tires and find out lol. Thanks for the comment.
Put some Carlisle AT 101 tires on there and your slipping problems are over!
@jbmortensen just looked those up, if that fit those would be awesome. Thanks for letting us know about those.
Great video bro keep being you I just got one bro
Thanks! Will do! Sorry for the late response. For some reason I never got this. I appreciate the support, we don't always get that.
Maybe the mucler kit without the bagger would help with the clogging.
Thanks. I love mine and your review is right on.Could you please demo pulling a tool behind it. I am trying to put some sort of grass rake behind it
Thank you for the kind words. I have a video on my channel of installing a hitch on it as well... also one for adding the light kit. I pull a bush hog with mine
Be yourself, relax and enjoy making your videos; that will bring you an audience you'll like, but keep them clean, God blesses that.
I suggest anyone who lives on any kind of incline and has this mower to invest in studded tractor or off-road ATV style tires. "Turf saver" tires are already prone to slipping and the hydros on this particular mower are not very good at easing on the power. These 2 things combined with any type of incline and you will do far more damage to your lawn from constant slipping with turf savers than you ever will running tires with an aggressive tread.
Keep in mind though that there is very little clearance between the body and the stock tire so if you want to go any wider you'll need some kind of spacer.
I agree, thanks for the comment
Thanks, don't be so hard on yourself!
I appreciate that, thanks for the comment.
Thank you, looking to buy this mower soon
What's wrong when you take it out park and it cuts off
it has a governor underneath the seat so if something bad happens, the mower will shut off
Do they have a roll bar for them...you can mount a weed eater to them
I'll have to look for that if so, that's a great idea. Thanks for the comment, I appreciate it.
I just bought a twin, Husqvarna with the Kawasaki engine, to the one being reviewed. The manual says you must use 91 octane fuel or higher. I like to use regular fuel with no ethanol but I only have access to 87 octane. Octane boosters seem to be too harsh and possibly cause engine damage. Does anyone have thoughts on this?
Well usually the manual says the recommended octane so it would probably be fine with 87. Here in Australia though our minimum octane is 91 and our mowers recommend 95 so it doesn’t really matter what you use.
Good video bro. F those neg comments. Great job.
Thanks I appreciate your response, I guess it's easier for people to make negative responses these days. Thanks for positive feed back
I literally just added the mulch kit /guard about 10min ago. Would you know how to remove the factory chute? Any tips?
John Toups how does the mulch kit work for ya?
@@andrewsbbq7876 been using for a month now. Probably have 4 cuts with it. I'd say the cut quality is about the same. But main reason I like it..... it seems like the wind would always blow 30mph when I cut the grass in the past, so It was super nice not coming out of the chute and blowing grass in my face!! It's a good buy for the price, and I plan on keeping it on the mower.
@@johntoups6338Do you have the blower assisted bagger or just regular? I started looking online and trying to figure out what is best. If you wouldn't mind providing a link to the one you have, I'd like to check it out.
@@joshclouse6327 I own the Husqvarna Z242F mower. I don't have a bagger on it though. Only mulch kit....which I ordered online straight from the Husqvarna website.
How many acres do you cut?
About 5 acres.
They got new one 254 F special edition (2023 new rear tires for grip)
I just bought this mower last weekend. It's the special edition, and it has the black clear cut 54" deck and aggressive tires. Not sure why the deck is black and not orange
Yes, i like the rear tires, haven't heard how well they are for a place like mine yet. Thanks for the comment
@@investinurself3445 it doesn't do well at all on any hill
I was very disappointed and took it back for a regular Husqvarna rider.
@memphisM3 that sucks, it looks like it would be good for it. Well thanks for the update.
What are people paying for this mower?
It all depends, I think they range about $2400-$3000, but you can get them on sale about this time of year for $2000-$2400 that's for a new one. You might be able to pick up a good used one for $1200-$1500 it just depends. Thanks for the question and hope that answer it. Hope you have an awesome weekend.
What kind of bush hog do you have for it? Is there a video with it?
i do have the video of what i have but its a 54" commerical pro swisher, model# RC14552CPKA. thanks for the comment, and sorry about the late response. i never saw a bunch of comments until just recently and im trying to catch up on them.
HOW CAN YOU MAKE THE RIDE SMOOTHER
Install larger diameter rear tires would help a lot
Show us how to charge the battery or change the battery
I bought 20" tires for mine for the back helped alot but i had to adjust my deck again next time i think im going to get some 22 atv tires and also go up a size on the front also to keep it leval. I think there pretty good mower i should have got the mz model ensted of the z200 they have a little better hydraulics that would be my only concern other stuff aint too expencive to fix lol but mine so far so good its about 105 hours maybe now.
I want to see the lights you put on
Sorry about the REALLY late reply, I never received a lot of these messages. Thanks for the support.
Just got the 26horse 54inch havent used yet mine has the kohler motor
How is it?
Do these have a water hose connection?
It has some kind of connection on the top of the deck but not sure if its for water or not. Never looked into it. Thanks for the question, ill look into it.
Yes it does, it comes with the attachment for the hose in the bag when you buy it, if not you can get a quick connect for a garden hose. Nice, thanks for the info, I never knew.
Awesome. I got a price today for a 246. For $2650. How much was yours?
I want to say I got it on sell for $2400 (closeout for the season) but I would have to look at my paperwork, may have been $2800. Sounds like a decent deal. Good job
@@investinurself3445$2501.39 is what im getting mine for but im getting the repair and extended warranty 3 years. only im getting 3 years extended warranty on top of the one year so it will be an even 3,000.00
Just bought one. Handles need adjusted. But nice unit.
Can you tell how you did it, mine need it too, thanks
The tires are to small that why it won't hold hills.
You might be correct on this. Thanks for the feed back
The only thing I hate about this mower is that it doesn’t have a fuel gauge.
I bought a 3 foot long clear rubber tubing at Homedepot. and stick it all the way to the deepest part of the tank in the front and then put my finger on the end and lift out and look.
I agree. Thanks for the comment
I just got mine today
Update?
@@MemphisMojo15s doing real good
That's awesome I'm glad you're liking it. Still enjoying mine as well.
I have the z 254f
Blame your poor wife. Lol
at least im being honest about it but thats funny. thanks for the comment
Thank you for not putting “honest” review. When people put that what I expect is a honest review regardless of the title
No problem, I hear ya. Thanks for the comment
dont be washing your equipment with water especially on the deck, it ruins the bearings
also moist grass is harder on the deck belts
Thanks for the info, I'll have to look into that. They have a water hookup to clean it so that's a little new for me. Moist grass I'm sure is harder on the deck, most of the time when I do cut damp grass it's bc my allergies are kicking my butt and don't want the dry grass all in my face. Thanks for the comment and i hope you have an awesome day.
