Located within the largest freshwater lakes in the world.
Here are Some of MY "productions" of different adventures and edits.
In conjunction with various action sports, at a young age I was introduced to fly fishing searching for wild trout living in the region known as "hills of the headwaters". I focus on diversity of fishing in Ontario, which offers year round sport opportunities for many different species, un-rivaled anywhere else in the world. More recent passions have branched further into backcountry camping venturing deep into areas hard to reach in search of un-pressured waters.

Exploring Gaspé Peninsula | 4runner Living | Search for Salmon & Striped Bass | Mountain Biking
Leaving from the Toronto area, I took upon a 2000km road trip journey to explore and complete the Gaspé Peninsula coast. Each night, I found a new spot to camp and slept in a roof top tent rigged on a 4th gen 4runner. The Gaspésie region consists of many famous Atlantic Salmon rivers that are situated amongst the eastern mountains providing a unique tint of crystal clear water.
The search for Atlantics proved to be tough, the rivers I had obtained access rights for seemed to be unfortunately empty. The weather here in July was hot and dry, providing very low and clear conditions for most rivers. The Grand Cascapédi did seem to be popular and would probably be worthwhile if your able to get rights to fish that river at this time period (Late July). Later I spent more time exploring the coast and estuaries search for stripers. Some of the fish I hooked into here where huge, although I lacked video footage of this. Many smaller 3-4lb stripers were caught and presented some fun on the fly rod.
Near the end of the trip, I looked into some of the trail systems for biking in the area to get my adrenaline fix. I spent a couple days riding Mont-Béchervaise conveniently located outside the town of Gaspé. With around 300-400m vertical climb on this hill, it was physically demanding in hot July weather, but certainly worth it after embarking down some prime flow trails down the mountain.
If looking for Atlantics, I would recommend going earlier here around May-June. Striper fishing seemed prime and hot, using swimbaits or large streamers on the fly seemed popular. Time of day (tidal) was important, fishing would change quick. Larger gear is wise, I saw many fish +10lbs.

Tough Remote Backcountry Adventure - Highest Elevation Point in Ontario
Переглядів 9 тис.5 місяців тому
Canada day long weekend I left on a solo expedition to reach the highest point of elevation in Ontario, leaving after work in Southern Ontario. I had to paddle upstream and diverge into a creek, eventually finding a trail leading to several portages and lakes to reach the main destination island campsite. The main lake destination was situated on the main trail access to the ridge, which involv...
Lake Superior River Fishing | Backpacking | 4runner Overlanding
Переглядів 1,9 тис.Рік тому
Later in the season, taking a 2000km road trip, I ventured in my 4runner along the isolated coast of lake superior in search of salmon and trout. Countless rivers flow into the ice cold waters of superior, which provides numerous species of migratory fish that will run up the river systems. The trip included a mix of exploring 4x4 roads along with backpacking one of the premier rivers in the no...

Ontario River Smallmouth Bass (Raw Footage)
Great video! Did the same route with a friend in July 2021, took one extra day each way, and stayed on the same island campsite. Super fun trip aside from the bugs of course lol.
This is on my list. Thank you for sharing!
Great video! Not sure how familiar you are with that area, but the road you drove in on (Portelance Rd) is also the snowmobile trail, in winter its very beautiful up there, one of my favorite sections of trail
Yeah Portelance is beautiful ! I bet that's a winter wonderland area to explore on the sleds !
Born and bred at Key River. Our black and white Scarab at the dock at the 0:08 second point.
Nice insights
The fish is amazing. I wish we had a river, like your Grand, where a giant one would rise to a dry fly.
Thanks for the video. - very enjoyable
Have you tried standing and poling your canoe? It makes up stream travel even more fun.
I've never tried, I'll give poling a try sometime at my local river maybe when fishing. I think it could be tough on backcountry expeditions if your carrying a significant load of gear
Great video!!
I went up that tower in 1986.
Awesome, used to be more of em back then I believe
Those bike trails looked awesome
Some top notch flow trails
See any Sasquatch sign? Tree structures? Many in that area. Thanks, beautiful video!
No didn't see any haha, spooky though 👻
Thanks for sharing. You captured the essence of your trip well.
Appreciate the feedback, not everyone enjoys the grind
West Coast steelheader here. Interesting how that race of fish adapted so well to the great lakes.
Agreed it is somewhat interesting, many rivers still have healthy runs considering various factors like high population density and urbanization. The baitfish populations are critical I believe, it's quite different for each great lake system and has changed over time, well known to correlate with runs of fish.
I enjoyed the cinematography in this vid. You captured some stellar scenery there. I don't think I have the patience left in me to chase atlantics, however I could see myself going after some stripers for sure. One day...
Appreciate the feedback, striper fishing is surprisingly serious they get big and fight!
Great video. I go up that way quite a bit, but usually on my motorbike. I've yet to wet a line between the Soo and Wawa. I hope you had an apple fritter at the Voyageur Inn! Thanks for sharing the trip.
Those apple fritters are the best I've has, I preach it!
Man, great video. Upstream in little creek, so tough. With cameras, difficult. Like the paddle/ hike adventures, do them myself in Cincy. Beautiful area, appreciate the hard work to show what an outdoor adventure really is. Thanks. 👍🤘🤘👍
Appreciate it , you totally understand it 🤙
It would have been interesting to know the names of the creeks, rivers and lakes.
I thought about it, but I also want to be careful not to exploit areas sometimes, especially regarding fishing in some videos
Hey man super beginner question.. when you do these solo river trips with a canoe how do you get back to your car at the end?
Involves getting a shuttle, either by someone else or using a bike, can be a pain to do and limits the distance often...
Well done!!!!
Which access point did you put in?
How long did it take you from key marina into the bay? Just curious as Ill have a novice paddler with me on my visit here.
It's probably going to be 3-4 hrs leaving the key into the Bay, depends on the wind though its usually a head wind and can be bad. Keep an eye on the forecast is my advice. If you have more time, there's some better and more scenic access into that area.
Watch out for the rattlesnakes ... do not chase them into the long grass !!
@GPHOWE have heard about them around there, never seen one myself though. Curious on the density/population of them.
Embarrassing to watch the lack of padding skills
Yeah we're some younger lads just learning, and embracing it here, have learned a few things in past few years since
Kind of
Just a note to say mad respect for your editing with so many amazing angles and shots to choose from. Some but not many folks know how much effort it takes to do this whilst canoeing and hiking!
My guy you're a champ. Although I've never gone as far as Killarney, I've taken the Key river out to Georgian bay many times. You did this alone and with a non-motorized vessel, portaging a heavyass canoe. What a legend.
Haha appreciate that 👍
If that was me id be lost 100 yards from the road simple skills are huge out there ! These types of videos will never get old. Any lessons on land navigation would be appreciated cause i cant read very good lol. Thanks for the footage! 🌲🌿⛰
Thanks man, For portage routes, you should always carry a waterproof or laminated map, especially if more remote and if it's a longer excursion
First comment🎉 Great video my friend, just make sure to clean the lens a lil more often. Keep them videos coming.
Yeah sometimes I have to focus on survival vs filming efforts lol cheers !🤙
Excellent video, thank you.
Good stuff....try using a kayak paddle with your canoe against current/wind.
Yeah I want to try one of those out, probably more efficient or faster...
Great shot
That looks awesome! Make sure you bring your own firewood!
It's not used much so there's still a reasonable amount of dead wood, but still totally agree
I want to go there ❤😮
It's breathtakingly gorgeous went camping there as a kid 😂 ❤
Where is this? I’m in Muskoka this weekend and would love to paddle tht way
Most I can give away is in the description, it's a sensitive area so I can't disclose that much on the web
Grand river in ohio??
This is in Ontario
Is this from this year?
Great video and that bass is huge. Just wondering about parking, any suggestions? Thanks
I can't disclose the exact location, but most Marina's/Boat Launches have paid parking available, take a few google searches and use the google maps, not too hard to figure out. Killarney to Parry Sound has loads of places.
Do you think the French river is fishable from shore at any point? Also, your commentary is low key insane. Good video fr
There's probably some access in spots, but it's going to be limited. I wouldn't really bother without some watercraft unless your maybe passing through. Thanks for the comment
@@smyproductions okay. Thanks for the advice
Love that place! ua-cam.com/video/SMQg8NGvB68/v-deo.htmlsi=r1lwvQ6fysvZhAy7
Dang lots of hiking must have been super tiring
Yeah portaging isnt for everyone, but certainly gets you to places less busy and pressured
Drop me a line next time you’re up. We can try and meet up. I live at one of your shots on 17 North of Sault.
Wish it was closer, almost debated moving out there. I often take a trip in the fall, certainly will reach out if I do!
Helpful vid, Planning to do this summer
Bro I love your setup with that Toyota. So sick. I hope your channel takes off, great content man. Subscribed after watching the first one
Thanks man glad you respect it 🤙
Nice vid man, I’m not trying to be a smart a* but is there a reason you’re portaging the canoe backwards each time? I’m only asking because when I do it the way it’s meant for it kills my shoulders. I also have an 80lbs canoe so there’s that 😂
Yeah I think I realized after picking it up lol 😆 This canoes not that light either probably 70-80lbs.
Amazing video
Nice vid!
Love the f bombs. My 10 year old thanks you
I do apologize but should state my videos aren't necessarily PG rated lol
Where did you launch?
Sweet footage man, was one of the guys in the water
Hey right on ! Shocked you found this
