By gaining clearance with that butter knife technique I believe the air output of that fan may have been undermined. I recently fixed one of these by using solvent, wire brush and compressed air applied both externally and internally (fan dismantled) after first gently dragging an exacto knife blade point around the bulb perimeter to possibly free any external grit. I think that's a much safer way.

I just spent three days drilling out seized bolts (salt). I almost...and may have damaged the unit to where it is no good. However, I have my fingers crossed! The problem with the used units is precisely that people tried to take them apart. It is often a professionals only situation! The unit was working when I took it apart for "service"...regrets?

Nice Video, I have the same issue with the bearing on my heater. But as it looks like the motor is not available anymore.. It is easy to replace the bearing by taking the motor apart?` Thanks

wer die Heizung kauft ist selbst schuld!!! Das Ding ist Schrott, maximal als Teilespender zu gebrauchen. Aufarbeiten lohnt sich nur wenn man das Ding geschenkt bekommen hat. Zerlegen, sandstrahlen .... man muß mehr Zeit und Geld investieren wie eine neue HZ oder ein gutes gebrauchtes Gerät gekostet hätte?!

Is 180 d Fahrenheit /82 d Celsius this heaters maximum output ? if so can you tell me how much heat I would expect to lose over the length of 4 foot of heating duct please ? I'm getting 170 d Fahrenheit, would this seem okay ?

I guess you wouldn't & shouldn't get smoke on start up/ shut down when its new/ish! So don't give up your day job

Very good practice to video BEFORE opening any package when buying from eBay or Amazon for that matter. i bought an electrical item from a private seller ( ebay) and it was a dud, even though the seller said it was working perfectly ( lying scumbag ) Got my money back, but this kind of thing just shows how deceptive, greedy and dis honest some of these sellers are. As far as THIS subject matter goes, i very recently bought a bus with a diesel heater in. i was told by the seller it didn't work or was not 'plumbed' in, which was NOT the case - it DOES work ( although it smelt nasty when i tried it - it eventually cleared, and works very well ! ) i have no idea what make of heater it is - it has a round control know with 1 - 10 (?) gradations ( rheostat ) with a little green light in the knob itself to show it on. No other control or readout. Are these type of heaters ok to leave on for extended periods ? Or will the battery suffer - say overnight useage.

if you still have it you rust remover best i´ve ever usder is from berner that is danish place like wurth if that dose not help then a new fan and clean the rest off the heater lots off luck

Wrong gauge of fuel pipe mate, and as said before u wiped the air intake...

So would a 20 amp inverter do the job ? The one I'm thinking of buying has a max current of 25amps and has a running ammerage of 20.

Over priced and over rated. Planar heaters work just as good for a lot less.

Hi Very good videos you make! I have an eberspacher that has starte making noise, and I suspected the bearings. And now I found your video :) I'm located in Sweden, and here's no-one to refurbush my heater. Buy new engine with fans, they say. So, I wonder, how do I remove the fans from the axle? I have got one, from, 1992, used in a sailboat. Best money I ever spent. I run it flat out all the time in the belief it will best avoid coking-up? If I have one reservation it is that the wee fuel pump is a bit noisy, but reliable enough.
